Sharing Life’s Trivial Matters

“Ding-dong.”

“Haozi, open the door.”

Lin Senmu arrived at the eighth floor of the hotel and rang the doorbell to Nie Hao’s room.

Creak.

The person who opened the door wasn’t Nie Hao, nor was it Ding Yujie, whom Nie Hao had taken to the bar. Instead, it was another girl they had been drinking with at the bar last night.

“Haozi, you’re such a scumbag!”

Lin Senmu thought to himself.

The girl, wrapped in a white towel, looked at Lin Senmu shyly and timidly, “Nie Hao is taking a shower. Would you like to come in?”

Lin Senmu smiled politely and shook his head, “No, I’ll wait for you guys in the lobby!”

From his angle, he could see the large round bed, which was in complete disarray. Lin Senmu didn’t want to stay inside.

“Then I’ll close the door?”

The girl said softly.

“Sure!”

Lin Senmu turned and left.

After smoking a cigarette in the hotel lobby, Nie Hao emerged from the elevator with a cigarette in his mouth, “Woody, you’re paying for lunch today. Last night, I put in a good word for you.”

“No problem!”

Lin Senmu asked, “Where’s the girl?”

Nie Hao laughed, “Oh, she’s taking her time in the shower. I didn’t want to keep you waiting, so I came down to accompany you.”

“That’s unnecessary. I’m busy.”

Lin Senmu immediately left Nie Hao hanging and continued his online chat with Jiang Yuan, who was far away.

“You damn blockhead, act like a human being!” Nie Hao cursed in frustration.

“Bite me!”

Lin Senmu said smugly.

“You’re going to get burned by this online romance sooner or later.”

Nie Hao sneered.

“Get lost, stop being such a jinx.”

Lin Senmu kicked out playfully.

As they bickered, the elevator doors opened, and the girl who had spent the night with Nie Hao walked over shyly.

“What do you want to eat?”

Lin Senmu asked Nie Hao.

“Baby, what do you want to eat?”

Nie Hao asked the girl.

“I want to eat dry pot shrimp!”

The girl replied.

“Let’s go.”

Lin Senmu had come to be the third wheel, wanting to see how Nie Hao interacted with his various partners. He wanted to learn, especially about how to take care of women.

He wanted to treat Jiang Yuan well in the future!

After the meal, Nie Hao began his usual scumbag routine, “Baby, while we were smoking earlier, Lin Senmu said he needed to go home. I’m going to his place to hang out!”

Lin Senmu swore that he had smoked with Nie Hao earlier, but he had definitely never said anything like that.

The shy little girl believed it, “Then, hubby, take me home first.”

Nie Hao had been waiting for this. He drove straight to the girl’s address, and when they parted, he didn’t hesitate to give her a French kiss right in front of Lin Senmu.

Lin Senmu turned his head to look at the scenery outside the car window.

“What are we doing this afternoon?”

After the girl entered her neighborhood, Lin Senmu turned back and asked.

“Playing pool, interested?”

Nie Hao was looking at his phone; someone had just invited him.

“Sure!”

Lin Senmu didn’t want to go home either. Since he had nothing better to do, he was happy to have an activity to pass the time.

Later, Nie Hao drove them to a pool hall.

As they walked in, Lin Senmu spotted a familiar face from a distance. He suddenly grabbed Nie Hao and whispered, “Why didn’t you tell me Li Xin Yue was here?”

“You didn’t ask.”

Nie Hao said, puzzled, “Besides, you didn’t say you wouldn’t come if Li Xin Yue was here!”

“You didn’t even mention it!”

Lin Senmu was getting a headache.

Nie Hao nudged him with his elbow and winked, “Woody, you know Li Xin Yue was one of the top beauties in our high school. How come you’re not interested?”

“You have no idea how many people want to chase her but never get the chance, and that includes me. You’re just oblivious to your own good fortune.”

Lin Senmu smiled bitterly, “If there’s no spark, there’s nothing I can do. What can I do if it’s one-sided? I’ve never led her on; I’ve always been clear with her.”

“Poor girl, she’s at the level of a campus belle.”

Nie Hao mourned for Li Xin Yue, then said, “Let’s go over, since we’re already here!”

Lin Senmu saw Li Xin Yue waving at them and felt it wouldn’t be right to leave now, so he walked over.

Li Xin Yue was there with a pretty girl, and it was her turn to play.

She held the cue delicately in her slender hand, bent down gently, leaned forward against the pool table, and her eyes filled with focus in an instant.

“Bang!”

With the strike, the white ball Li Xin Yue aimed at hit a numbered ball, sinking it precisely.

“Awesome!”

Nie Hao clapped in praise.

Lin Senmu didn’t speak but nodded slightly. This girl Li Xin Yue had a graceful style in her movements, full of charm.

“Coke or Pepsi?”

Li Xin Yue glanced at the two of them.

“Pepsi!”

Nie Hao answered with a smile.

“I wasn’t asking you!”

Li Xin Yue retorted bluntly.

Nie Hao’s smile froze on his face.

Originally wanting to drink Coke, Lin Senmu, to save face for his buddy, said, “Pepsi!”

“Nie Hao, go get four bottles!”

Li Xin Yue ordered.

“!!!”

Nie Hao almost wanted to curse; today was not his lucky day.

“Lin Senmu, do you want to play?”

Li Xin Yue handed the cue to Lin Senmu.

“I don’t know how.”

Lin Senmu waved his hand.

“Oh!”

A hint of disappointment flashed in Li Xin Yue’s eyes, and she continued playing.

When Nie Hao returned, he started playing one-on-one with the two girls present, while Lin Senmu watched from the side.

During the chat, Li Xin Yue suddenly asked, “The scores will be out in a few days. Which university are you applying to?”

“I just want to inherit the family fortune, eat, drink, and have fun every day. I don’t want to go to university.”

Nie Hao said with a playful smile, “Or wherever Jingwen goes, I’ll go with her.”

Tan Jingwen spat, “Nie Hao, cut it out. Believe it or not, I’ll record what you just said and send it to your girlfriend!”

“I don’t have a girlfriend. You can record it and listen to it yourself, it might help me get one!”

Nie Hao teased with a grin.

“Lin Senmu, what about you!”

Li Xin Yue ignored the flirtatious exchange between the two and asked the guy who had been playing with his phone on the chair.

“Me?”

Lin Senmu looked up, a bit confused, “I haven’t thought about it yet. I’ll see after the scores come out!”

“Oh.”

Li Xin Yue responded quietly.

Lin Senmu lowered his head and continued playing with his phone, sharing his daily life with Jiang Yuan, “I’m at the pool hall, watching my friends play pool!”

“Got it, got it, Lin Senmu. I just finished practicing the piano, my hands are so sore.”

Jiang Yuan whined in complaint. She was an art student and had told Lin Senmu in the afternoon that she needed to practice.

“When your hands are sore, I suggest finding someone to hold them!”

Lin Senmu laughed, his intentions quite obvious.

“Who should I find?”

Jiang Yuan countered.

“Brother Senmu doesn’t mind healing you, young lady!”

The corner of Lin Senmu’s mouth curved into an exaggerated smile.

“Ew, Brother Senmu? You’re giving me goosebumps!”

Jiang Yuan was both disgusted and fond.

It seemed that from the day they met, he and she had been sharing the trivialities of their daily lives with each other, from asking “What did you eat?” “What did you drink?” “What are you doing?” during their time in the Western Regions to the care and longing when they were apart.

Having someone like this by your side is something to cherish dearly!

In the billiards room, Nie Hao and Tan Jingwen flirted playfully, while Lin Senmu and Jiang Yuan chatted fervently online.

Li Xin Yue won a game of billiards, and as she turned to grab a drink of water, her silhouette appeared slightly lonely.

“I hope I can find happiness.”
