Clock Trap
Clock Trap chapter 25

Having temporarily escaped danger, Yu Sen and his group returned to their normal lives before entering the next alternate world.

Responding to his mother’s call, Yu Sen left Si Nan’s house and went back home to visit his parents and enjoy some peaceful life. His return date was uncertain. Anyway, no matter where he was, when the time came, the wall clock would pull him into the alternate world, so he couldn’t be bothered about the time.

Before leaving, he repeatedly told Si Xuanyang not to miss him too much, but all he received was a look of helplessness and disapproval. Yu Sen didn’t bother guessing, borrowed Si Nan’s car, and left the mountain in a carefree manner.

However, leaving the mountain wasn’t as carefree as it seemed.

After retiring, his grandmother had nothing to do and busied herself arranging blind dates for him. Yu Sen couldn’t refuse her and had to go through them one after another, at least three or four a day.

After several days, he had met at least fifteen girls, but none of them worked out.

Mrs. Yu was unhappy, dragging Yu Sen around, squinting at him, and pinching his nose, baffled: “With this appearance, he’d have been a national calamity in ancient times. What’s wrong with modern aesthetics? Why don’t they like my son?”

Yu Sen: “…”

Mrs. Yu, still frustrated, asked an intermediary, who finally stammered: “Mr. Yu is too handsome and has too much presence. He’s more eye-catching than many celebrities. The young girls feel like they’re just accessories standing next to him, so they’re unwilling to go on a second date.”

Mrs. Yu remained silent for a long time before finally deciding to give up. “Forget it, forget it. My son looks too much like me; it’s a big problem. We’ll talk about marriage later.”

“…”

The intermediary, seeing Mrs. Yu’s not particularly disappointed and somewhat pleased expression, was at a loss for words.

Yu Sen’s life returned to the peaceful state he desired, but Si Xuanyang faced difficulties.

He didn’t agree with Yu Sen leaving, not because he wanted to restrict his freedom, but mainly because Luo Yu was still lurking around. With the main person leaving, it was like giving them a chance on a silver platter!

Fortunately, Luo Yu proposed to explore around, and since Hong Kong was a popular tourist city, it was unacceptable not to visit several attractions after staying for so many days.

Si Xuanyang completely agreed with this idea and found ways to keep Si Nan around, letting Luo Yu explore alone.

After sending Luo Yu off, Si Nan sighed, “Yang Yang, isn’t this too inconsiderate? He wants to travel, and we’re not fulfilling our host’s duties?”

Si Xuanyang gave him a cold glance. “I booked him a high-priced tour group. Someone will pick him up after he leaves the mountain, and the experience is guaranteed to be very good. That’s enough consideration.”

Si Nan: “… Fine, you’re the most considerate.”

“Also, the day after tomorrow, our cousin is hosting a dinner party at home. If you don’t attend, she won’t let you off the hook for the rest of the year. I’m thinking of you.”

“…Thank you.”

Si Nan sighed dryly. He was now pretty certain that Si Xuanyang didn’t like Luo Yu, but he cared a lot about his younger brother. Because he cared, he made sure not to get too close to Luo Yu, fearing that Si Xuanyang might suddenly explode.

But this situation couldn’t go on like this forever!

Two days later, Si Xuanyang’s cousin, Yun Ting, hosted a charity dinner. Though it was called a charity dinner, it had little to do with charity. It was just a small gathering for people in their circle to exchange and build connections and share industry information.

Si Xuanyang had no interest in these events. Ever since entering the world of the clock and experiencing those bizarre things, he found these gatherings even less appealing.

Others, fearing Si Xuanyang’s notorious temper and bluntness, dared not disturb him.

He became the most relaxed person at the party, holding a glass of champagne while hiding on the balcony on the second floor to enjoy the breeze. The music from inside was muffled through the glass of the balcony door, sounding more pleasant to him than the original.

Midway through the party, he glanced through the glass door into the room. Si Nan was saying something to Yun Ting.

Seeing his brother standing there in that casual, lazy posture—one that resembled Yu Sen by seventy percent—Si Xuanyang knew he must have had too much to drink.

Si Nan didn’t have a high tolerance for alcohol but loved drinking. He always left halfway through after getting half-drunk and half-sober. Si Xuanyang was used to it by now.

But seeing that familiar posture made his heart ache again. Do two people really start to resemble each other after spending so much time together?

While he was feeling sour, Si Nan had already walked out of the house and sat by the fountain, probably waiting for his car.

Si Xuanyang, resting his chin on the balcony railing, looked down at him and sighed: “Doesn’t he know that getting fresh air after drinking red wine will make him even drunker? He might as well jump into the fountain for a cold shower.”

A black car pulled up at the manor gate. Si Xuanyang recognized it as the car Si Nan used for commuting in the city.

He watched as Butler Chen helped Si Nan into the passenger seat. The spotlight in the garden briefly lit up the windshield, clearly revealing Luo Yu’s face in the driver’s seat.

Si Xuanyang froze instantly.

He saw Butler Chen close the passenger door, but the car didn’t drive off immediately. Luo Yu leaned over to buckle Si Nan’s seatbelt, getting so close that his hair might have brushed Si Nan’s chin.

He also saw Luo Yu touch Si Nan’s forehead with the back of his hand, then unbutton Si Nan’s shirt to help him breathe.

His actions were so gentle! The scene was so intimate!

If the two of them weren’t involved, then even Pan Jinlian and Ximen Qing must have been innocent!

Si Xuanyang nearly crushed the champagne glass in his hand.

The storm in his mind was like a raging fire, threatening to burn his reason to ashes.

The spotlight slowly moved away, and the car’s interior light turned off, leaving only a dark silhouette visible from the second floor—just like Si Xuanyang’s current mood.

The car started and slowly drove out of the garden.

Si Xuanyang’s face darkened, and his eyes burned with anger. He turned and roughly shoved the balcony door open, downed the champagne in one gulp, and tossed the glass into the nearby pool, causing a splash before storming downstairs without looking back.

He exited the house, found his modified SUV in the garden, and got into the driver’s seat.

The car roared to life.

“Hey, hey, hey—! Wait! You can’t drive!” Yun Ting’s sharp voice came from the entrance as her high heels clacked frantically toward Si Xuanyang.

Another step on the gas could result in a fatal accident.

The remnants of Si Xuanyang’s humanity made him stop in his tracks.

Unable to open the car door, Yun Ting banged on the window with all her might. “Yang Yang! Roll down the window for your dear cousin!”

The car window slowly rolled down, revealing Si Xuanyang’s face, filled with boundless anger.

Yun Ting was momentarily stunned by his expression, but quickly regained her big sister attitude and started lecturing him. “I saw you drinking! How can you drive after drinking? Don’t you know how dark the road down from here is because of the mood lighting we installed? What if there’s an accident? You’re too young to be driving drunk…”

“Are you done?” Si Xuanyang impatiently glanced at her.

Yun Ting stiffened, subtly sighing. Although her cousin was usually soft-hearted, he also had a bad temper most of the time. This contradictory nature made him hard to get close to, so it was best not to clash with him when he was angry.

She called someone over and kindly suggested, “This is Xiao Chen, Butler Chen’s grandson. He’s a reliable driver, so let him take you.”

Si Xuanyang was silent for a moment before opening the door and getting out of the driver’s seat, expressionless as he walked around to the back seat.

Yun Ting sighed in relief and motioned for Xiao Chen to get in.

“Just tell him where to go, Xiao Chen, and drive safely.”

“Got it, Ting Jie.”

Before Xiao Chen stepped on the gas, Yun Ting, still worried, leaned against the car window and advised Si Xuanyang again.

“Yang Yang, are you angry because the person who came to pick up your brother was a guy? That’s not the right mindset. Si Nan liking men isn’t a bad thing. Even your parents have accepted it. As a modern young man, you shouldn’t have a problem with it either. Don’t let this affect your relationship with your brother…”

“Are you ever going to drive, Xiao Chen? Or are you a wooden dummy who doesn’t know how to step on the gas?” Si Xuanyang’s icy voice came from the back seat.

“Y-Yes, we’re going!”

Xiao Chen awkwardly smiled at Yun Ting before stepping on the gas.

The car sped away, and Yun Ting stood there, watching the tail lights fade into the distance, sighing contemplatively.

……

“Is this really a matter of having a boyfriend? This is cheating! And the one being cheated on is…” As soon as Si Xuanyang thought of Yu Sen’s carefree laughter, a wave of frustration and heartache surged within him, spreading a painful sense of suffocation through his chest.

He rolled down the window of the back seat, staring out, his eyes filled with anger and sorrow.

Xiao Chen cautiously glanced at the rearview mirror at the back seat, “Second Young Master, where do you want to go?”

Si Xuanyang clenched his fists. By now, Luo Yu’s car must have driven far away, entering the city, making it difficult to find.

But if he really wanted to find it, he had countless ways to do so.

But… What good would it do to find him? It’s already irreparable.

Si Xuanyang didn’t answer, and Xiao Chen didn’t dare to ask again. After a long time, he finally heard a voice from the back seat, “Just find any bar and drop me off.”

“Alright, sure.”

Xiao Chen secretly gritted his teeth. He had heard that this Second Young Master Si was always cold and irritable, young in age but with quite a temper, and he usually disliked noisy or chaotic places. He rarely drank alcohol, only drinking more during holidays when accompanying the old master.

What’s going on today? Is he possessed or something? Going to a bar late at night to drown his sorrows!?

Xiao Chen’s curiosity was instantly ignited.
