Chapter 33: Incompetent weaklings

On the way back, Shen Jiaojiao anxiously instructed Shen Jianguo and his wife, “Mom and Dad, tonight’s matter is between the three of us. Don’t tell anyone else to prevent leaks, understand?”

Shen Jianguo snorted, “Of course. If that dead girl finds out, she’ll make a fuss!”

“But how do we trick Hongxing back home? She won’t listen to us now!” Mother Shen  worriedly asked.

Shen Jiaojiao had already thought about this problem.

She put her arm around Mother Shen ‘s shoulder, “Mom, getting your daughter back is easy. When Aunt Ning brings her nephew to our house, you feign illness. No matter what, she’s your biological daughter. She can’t ignore you, right?”

Mother Shen  was still worried, “Will this work? What if she’s determined not to care about me?”

“Mom, don’t worry. Just do as I say, and I’ll handle the rest!”

Mother Shen  finally relented.

A smug smile appeared on Shen Jiaojiao’s lips, unnoticed by others.

Unknown to Shen Jiaojiao, in the compound, Lu Zhonghua’s family was kneeling before the old man.

“You’ve already embarrassed yourselves in the compound and the wool mill, and you even went to the neighboring town to embarrass yourselves! What sin have I committed to be related to such idiots?”

Lu Zhonghua had been hiding the events of the down jacket fashion show from the old man. However, after dinner, Qin Xianglan and Lu Zhonghua started arguing for some reason.

Lu Ping’an couldn’t stop them.

The argument escalated.

Qin Xianglan pointed at Lu Zhonghua’s nose and cursed, “Lu Zhonghua, are you even a man? Your brother humiliated me in front of everyone yesterday, and you stood there like a coward. Now you dare to lecture me? What do you think you are? If I hadn’t been blind back then, how could I have married a useless weakling like you?”

Weakling?

She dared to call him that.

Lu Zhonghua was also angered and argued back, “Qin Xianglan, you shrew! If you hadn’t pretended to be weak and kind in front of my family before our wedding, do you think I would have married a stupid and uncultured woman like you?”

“Dad, Mom, stop arguing! If Grandpa hears this, he’ll be angry!” Lu Ping’an didn’t know who to help and could only use Grandpa to scare them.

“Angry? I’m angry! That old man only knows how to scold us and play favorites. Since he’s so obsessed with his younger son, why doesn’t he go live with him?”

“Qin Xianglan, what did you say?”

Qin Xianglan’s words hit Lu Zhonghua’s sore spot.

He angrily grabbed Qin Xianglan, looking like he would kill her if she said another word, “Say that again!”

Qin Xianglan had never seen Lu Zhonghua so angry. She shrank her neck,a little scared.

But due to her personality, she refused to back down.

Stubbornly, she retorted, “What’s so great about your brother? We’ve been trying to find him a partner, but he rejects everyone. Now he’s so close to that wild girl. I think he’s the one behind…”

“Slap!”

Qin Xianglan’s eyes went blurry, and a strong metallic taste filled her mouth.

Stunned for a moment, she clawed at Lu Zhonghua’s face, “Lu Zhonghua, you heartless man! I’ll fight you to the death today!”

“Dad, Mom…”

Lu Ping’an’s words were interrupted by the old man, “Let them fight! No one is allowed to stop them!”

He had heard their argument from afar and wanted to see what kind of insults they would hurl at each other.

Lu Zhonghua pulled Qin Xianglan’s hair, making it look like a bird’s nest.

Lu Zhonghua wasn’t much better. His clothes were torn, and his face had several bloody scratches.

Both looked disheveled.

“Fight! Insult each other! Why have you stopped?” The old man sat on the chair with a dark face, sweeping everything on the table to the floor.

His anger was evident.

Lu Zhonghua and Qin Xianglan were startled and immediately knelt down.

Lu Ping’an also knelt down.

“Dad…”

Lu Zhonghua tried to speak, but the old man pointed at him and asked, “Tell me, what did you do yesterday? Why did Jiaoyang make your wife apologize in front of everyone?”

Lu Zhonghua swallowed.

He had to tell the old man everything that happened at the fashion show.

“Zhonghua, slap your wife twenty times!” The old man calmly ordered.

“What?”

Lu Zhonghua clearly wasn’t willing.

Qin Xianglan covered her mouth in fear, pitifully looking at Lu…

“I know I’m wrong. I promise I’ll control my mouth and won’t talk nonsense again!”

“Grandpa, Mom knows she’s wrong, and she’ll change. Please don’t let Dad hit her!”

“You’re not a good thing either. It’s your turn next!” The old man glared at Lu Ping’an.

Seeing that Lu Zhonghua hadn’t started, he asked sarcastically, “You’re not going to hit her? You want me to personally teach your wife a lesson?”

“No, Dad, I’ll do it, I’ll do it!”

Lu Zhonghua turned around and slapped Qin Xianglan.

“Slap!”

Qin Xianglan covered her mouth and cried, “Dad, I know I’m wrong. I won’t do it again!”

But the old man wasn’t satisfied, “Did you not eat? Hit her harder!”

Lu Zhonghua bit his lip and slapped Qin Xianglan twenty times.

Qin Xianglan’s mouth and face were swollen. She covered her face and cried in pain.

“How is it? Does it hurt?” The old man asked Qin Xianglan.

Qin Xianglan nodded vigorously.

“If you haven’t learned your lesson this time, next time I’ll have Zhonghua tear your mouth apart!” The old man’s voice was soft, but his words carried immense authority.

Qin Xianglan nodded repeatedly, “Dad, I promise I won’t do it again!”

“What?”

Lu Zhonghua felt wronged, “Dad, I didn’t insult Shen Hongxing. Why are you hitting me?”

“As a man, you failed to control your wife and educate your son. You even joined them in causing trouble for Hongxing. Compared to them, what kind of good person are you?”

Lu Ping’an tried to speak, but the old man turned to him, “Lu Ping’an, you’re the same. Hongxing was engaged to you. As a man, you lack the decency to not cause trouble for her. Your mother insulted her in front of everyone, and you didn’t help her. You even allowed your mother to shamelessly humiliate her. You’re the worst!”
