Commander! Your Wife Brought Ten Sons to Wreck the House
Commander! Your Wife Brought Ten Sons to Wreck the House Chapter 14: The Lin Family

The production brigade where the original host lived was called the Morning Glory Brigade. Its members were all refugees who had fled from other regions in earlier years, and their ancestors came from diverse backgrounds.

As the saying goes, every man has his own thoughts behind his face—since the brigade members didn’t share the same ancestry, each had their own selfish calculations, and their scheming minds were sharper than anyone else’s.

The Lin family was one of the major surnames in the brigade. The original host’s uncle, Lin Shuiyin, was a poor lower-middle-class peasant who had been elected as the brigade leader and was deeply respected by the members.

In contrast, the original host’s family was practically despised by people and loathed by dogs in the brigade.

The head of the household, Lin Shuisheng, was fifty-eight years old—a meek and honest man who always obeyed his wife, Wang Xiu’e, and doted on their daughter, Lin Wanwan. He carried an old tobacco pipe tucked in his waistband every day and loved taking a few puffs whenever he had the chance.

His wife, Wang Xiu’e, was three years older than her husband and had a notoriously fierce temper. If anyone dared to provoke her, she could curse them nonstop for three days—even dogs passing by their doorstep weren’t spared a few insults. She was practically invincible in the Morning Glory Brigade, and no one dared to cross her.

The couple had five sons and one daughter in their lifetime. The fourth and fifth sons—a pair of twins—died of high fever shortly after birth. Only the eldest, second, third, and the original host survived.

The eldest son, Lin Yougen, married Liu Yulan from a neighboring brigade at eighteen through a matchmaker’s introduction. The couple rarely quarreled with others, being simple and honest—or, to put it bluntly, spineless and indecisive. They had two daughters: the eldest, Lin Hongying, was sixteen this year, and the younger, Lin Hongxiang, was eight.

The second son, Lin Youzhu, and his wife, Li Zhaodi, had a son and a daughter. Their son, Lin Changfu, was ten, and their daughter, Lin Hongni, was five.

The third son, Lin Youde, was twenty-four and rarely stayed at home. He was fond of petty theft, and none of the nearby brigades were willing to marry their daughters to him. On top of that, with the ongoing famine, people were barely surviving—who had extra money to arrange a wedding for him? Over time, Lin Youde remained single, becoming one of the most notorious bachelors in the Morning Glory Brigade.

As for the original host, she was also named Lin Wanwan, twenty-one years old, and the beloved treasure of Lin Shuisheng and Wang Xiu’e. She had been spoiled since birth—never worked in the fields, and all the good food in the house went straight into her belly. Over time, she became the fattest girl in the entire commune.

Thanks to her parents’ indulgence, she often threw her weight around at home—berating her sisters-in-law and hitting her nieces was a regular occurrence. And she was no pushover outside either. If anyone dared to bully her, she’d immediately drag her parents and three brothers to their doorstep and beat them until they wailed for mercy. Gradually, her ferocious reputation spread, and no one in the nearby brigades was foolish enough to provoke her.

Naturally, no matchmaker dared to arrange a marriage for her.

First, her explosive temper made her a nightmare—if she got unhappy after marriage and smashed her in-laws’ house to pieces, the matchmaker would be blamed. No matchmaker wanted their hard-earned reputation ruined by this marriage.

Second, her bear-like physique was terrifying. If she married into a family, she’d eat them into bankruptcy within a week.

The original host couldn’t care less about outsiders’ opinions. She looked down on the brigade’s dirt-poor peasants who relied on the weather for survival and was determined to marry into the city for state-supplied rations.

But marrying an urban worker wasn’t easy.

Some time ago, Wang Xiu’e had made multiple trips to the county, spending money and pulling strings to find her daughter a city husband. But every time the suitors saw the original host’s massive figure in person, they fled in terror.

Because of this, the original host had cried and thrown tantrums many times, even vowing to lose weight on several occasions—only to be coaxed out of it by her doting mother, Wang Xiu’e.

If you asked Wang Xiu’e, a plump wife was the key to a prosperous life.

Her daughter had wide hips—clearly built for bearing children.

Whoever married her little lucky star of a daughter would be blessed beyond measure under the covers.

Later, when educated youths were sent down to the Morning Glory Brigade, Zhou Zhongwen—a pale, delicate-looking scholar—blatantly barged into the original host’s heart.

From then on, no one else existed in her eyes. Even her own parents, Lin Shuisheng and Wang Xiu’e, had to take a backseat when Zhou Zhongwen was around.

She constantly delivered food and drinks to the educated youth dorm, rushing over with any little treat she got her hands on.

She never bothered to hide her actions, so before long, the entire brigade knew she had her sights set on the educated youth from Shanghai.

In private, they mocked her for a toad lusting after swan’s flesh.

As for Zhou Zhongwen, he never refused her gifts. He even wrote her pretentious, saccharine poems in return, praising her as the kindest and most beautiful girl in the Morning Glory Brigade and claiming that meeting her was the greatest fortune of his three lifetimes.

The original host was utterly bewitched by his sweet talk. In her eyes, Zhou Zhongwen did care for her.

They were destined to be together.

In her heart, she had already claimed him as her own.

So when she found out that many in the brigade were eyeing her Zhou Zhongwen, she couldn’t sit still.

She stormed over to the educated youth dorm, ready to tear down the thin veil between them.

But just as she arrived, she witnessed Zhou Zhongwen locked in a passionate embrace with a female educated youth, their lips glued together.

The scandalous sight burned her eyes. She hated this vixen who dared seduce her man.

Blinded by rage, she raised her hand to slap the girl—

But before she could land a hit, Zhou Zhongwen shoved her away in disgust, sending her sprawling to the ground.

“Look at yourself—fat as a pig. There’s not a shred of femininity in you. Just the sight of you makes me sick.”

“Even if I were blind, I’d never want a lazy, gluttonous country bumpkin like you…”

The undisguised contempt in his eyes pierced her heart.

Humiliated by the man she loved, she—in a moment of despair—ran off and threw herself into the river.

She didn’t know how to swim. After a few frantic struggles, the rushing currents dragged her under.

And then… the modern-day Lin Wanwan took over.

After digesting the original host’s memories, Lin Wanwan’s frown deepened enough to crush a fly.

Zhou Zhongwen was a hypocritical scumbag—stringing the original host along despite having no feelings for her, all just to mooch off her food supplies.

In these times, grain was life itself—without it, people starved. The original host had skimped on her own meals to feed this trash, yet the moment she caught him cheating, he shamelessly insulted her, driving her to suicide.

Now that Lin Wanwan had taken over this body, she would get justice for the original host.

After all, the ruthless business tycoon of her past life was never one to suffer losses. No one took advantage of her without paying it back tenfold.

Whatever he had swallowed, she’d make him vomit it up with interest.

The system, sensing its host’s violent emotional fluctuations, hurriedly intervened.

[Host, calm down! Let’s talk this through!]
