49. Treasure the present.
Yu Yue didn’t react at first. In the moment when that beautiful and fresh rose appeared before his eyes, it seemed like the colors pouring in from the sunlight suddenly occupied his entire field of vision.
Yu Yue had received flowers from Xu Yuanzhe a long time ago.
It was a large bouquet of dew-kissed flowers.
He couldn’t remember if it was Valentine’s Day or his birthday. Xu Yuanzhe appeared in front of Yu Yue holding that bouquet of flowers. The flowers were beautiful, but Yu Yue’s attention was entirely on the face of the young man behind the flowers.
At that time, Xu Yuanzhe’s face still had sweat on it, likely from returning from work.
At this moment, the vibrant red rose instantly pulled Yu Yue back to his youthful memories.
There were many people by the wishing pool, making noise.
After a long silence, Yu Yue’s eyelashes trembled slightly. His gaze moved slowly from the red rose, gradually upward to Xu Yuanzhe’s wrist with the black watch, then upward again, finally landing on Xu Yuanzhe’s brows and eyes.
In this moment, Yu Yue wanted to lift his camera and capture this scene.
Because it was by the wishing pool, as if everything was related to the word “eternity.”
However, Yu Yue couldn’t bear to look away or raise his camera. He just wanted to use his eyes as a camera, staring at Xu Yuanzhe without blinking.
There seemed to be a faint mist in the air, and when the sunlight shone down, Yu Yue seemed to see a rainbow.
After waiting for a long time, Xu Yuanzhe reached out, and his fingertips gently stroked Yu Yue’s cheek.
He said, “You’ve worked hard taking photos.”
Yu Yue blinked his eyes lightly without speaking.
He took the rose from Xu Yuanzhe’s hand and asked, “Is it just the flower?”
Xu Yuanzhe remained silent.
After a moment, he bent down.
The approaching shadow allowed Yu Yue to guess what would happen next, but he didn’t want to close his eyes. He just wanted to look at Xu Yuanzhe’s deep black eyes up close.
There were many people by the wishing pool, taking photos, sightseeing, chatting—everywhere.
Xu Yuanzhe bent down, his palm gently touching Yu Yue’s cheek, warm and comforting.
When he kissed Yu Yue, neither of them closed their eyes.
Both could see each other’s reflections in each other’s eyes.
Holding the rose branch that had its thorns removed in the palm of his hand, it felt cool, but there was no sense of pain.
It was just a very light kiss.
After the kiss, Xu Yuanzhe didn’t immediately pull away. He just lightly leaned against Yu Yue’s forehead, lowered his eyes, with long and pitch-black eyelashes. His voice was a bit husky, “In the past, when I couldn’t afford flowers, I always thought they were the best. Now that I can afford them, I feel that buying flowers is far from enough.”
“People are like that,” Yu Yue looked into Xu Yuanzhe’s eyes. “When we can’t have something, we always want it. When we have it, we want even more.”
After a slight pause, he reached out and gently touched Xu Yuanzhe’s face. “Cherishing the present is the best.”
Xu Yuanzhe remained silent.
After a moment, he softly uttered, “Hmm,” and squatted down in front of Yu Yue, gently holding Yu Yue’s hand.
Yu Yue said, “Let’s look at the photos we took today.”
He handed the camera to Xu Yuanzhe, showing him the photos they took today.
“Are they okay?” Yu Yue asked. “The style is quite different from what your studio usually posts. I don’t know if they can be used.”
Xu Yuanzhe said they were fine.
He asked Yu Yue to send the photos to him.
Later, the two continued to visit other attractions in Rome.
In the evening, while Xu Yuanzhe was taking a shower, Yu Yue opened Weibo.
He initially just wanted to casually browse Weibo but unexpectedly clicked on the hot search page, and the top trending was “Xu Yuanzhe Rome photos.”
Yu Yue clicked on this hot search.
The first Weibo was from Xu Yuanzhe’s studio, and every photo was taken by Yu Yue. The studio adjusted the lighting slightly, almost no retouching, and posted them directly.
The Weibo caption read:
“Wishing, back to Rome.”
Yu Yue scrolled down to the comment section.
The top comment was: “So handsome.”
The following comments were also full of praises.
Yu Yue exited and went to check under a marketing account’s Weibo. After all, fan power was strong, and he wanted to see if there were any different comments.
Indeed, under the marketing account’s Weibo, he saw someone saying, “The style of these photos is quite different this time.”
Following that, people started discussing this topic.
Passerby 1 said, “These photos are very warm, Xu Yuanzhe looks much better.”
Passerby 2 said, “Although he was handsome to begin with, his original style, handsome as it was, always made me feel cynical and cold, so I never really liked him. But what’s going on with this set of photos? They’re kind of charming.”
Passerby 3 said, “Me too, it’s the first time I’ve been enchanted by the Film Emperor’s appearance.”
Passerby 4 said, “Changed the photographer? Looks good.”
Passerby 5 said, “The caption this time is also interesting, ‘Wishing, back to Rome,’ is related to the Wishing Pool.”
Passerby 6 said, “What does ‘related to the Wishing Pool’ mean?”
Passerby 7 said, “No one should not know that the Wishing Pool is also related to the eternal wish for love, right?”
As Yu Yue scrolled further down, the comments gradually became chaotic.
Yu Yue exited Weibo.
He was busy with his own things for a while, and when Xu Yuanzhe finished bathing and came out, Yu Yue asked him, “Did you post on your studio’s Weibo this time?”
Xu Yuanzhe’s movements paused slightly.
He quickly answered, “Hmm.”
Yu Yue didn’t say anything, sitting on the bed, watching Xu Yuanzhe, not knowing what he was thinking. After a while, he reached out, saying, “Come here for a hug.”
Xu Yuanzhe walked over to Yu Yue.
He bent down.
Yu Yue hugged Xu Yuanzhe’s neck.
It was a familiar warmth, but not the familiar scent. Xu Yuanzhe didn’t use scented shower gel or shampoo; he used the hotel’s own.
But that was okay.
Cold water droplets fell on Yu Yue’s arm.
Hugging Xu Yuanzhe, he had never felt so secure.
After getting back together, many times he would wake up in the middle of the night, thinking that everything now was just a dream. This feeling became even more pronounced each time he woke up, found that Xu Yuanzhe wasn’t by his side, and had already gone out to work.
Yu Yue just wanted to hug Xu Yuanzhe well now, to fill the uncertainty of the past five years with this kind of security.
However, before he could savor it for a while.
Yu Yue suddenly felt his body light.
Xu Yuanzhe lifted him from the bed.
Yu Yue subconsciously held onto Xu Yuanzhe’s neck.
Xu Yuanzhe carried Yu Yue to the windowsill and gently set him down.
Outside the window was the night sky of Rome.
Leaning against the window, Yu Yue gazed at Xu Yuanzhe.
After a moment of silence, Xu Yuanzhe asked, “How about going skiing in Switzerland tomorrow?”
Yu Yue replied, “Sounds good.”
Xu Yuanzhe continued, “The day after tomorrow, we’re going to Iceland.”
Yu Yue also said, “Sure.”
The room fell into a quiet atmosphere.
This silence was somewhat unusual. If there were a fireplace in the room right now, it would probably reflect the faint blush on Yu Yue’s face. Even though he didn’t know why his cheeks and ears were slightly red, perhaps looking at Xu Yuanzhe, staring into those eyes, always made his heart flutter.
After some time, Xu Yuanzhe gently brushed his nose against Yu Yue’s, his voice slightly hoarse, “When do you plan to go to sleep?”
Yu Yue’s eyelashes fluttered.
He said, “Now.”
Xu Yuanzhe responded, “Okay.”
However, he didn’t make any move.
Yu Yue reached out and touched Xu Yuanzhe’s hair. “Dry your hair and then go to sleep.”
Xu Yuanzhe’s Adam’s apple moved slightly. He responded with a soft “Hmm” but didn’t make any other movements.
After a while, Yu Yue suddenly laughed.
He said to Xu Yuanzhe, “Turn around.”
Xu Yuanzhe turned his back.
In the next moment, Yu Yue was lying on Xu Yuanzhe’s back, tightly holding onto his neck, like a koala. Then he said, “Okay, you can go blow-dry your hair now.”
