Chapter 2: Are You Sure She’s My Sister’s Professor?
Jiang Yichen followed his older sister to the college’s smaller cafeteria.
Mingxian Conservatory of Music’s main cafeteria offered cheap meals, but the food was mediocre.
The smaller cafeteria, however, boasted numerous food stalls—chicken pot, braised chicken with potatoes, omurice, clay pot rice, and more… The food here was far superior to the main cafeteria.
Jiang Yichen and his sister arrived at the hot pot stall and ordered a double-person set.
With their order slips in hand, the siblings found a table and sat down.
While waiting for their food, Jiang Suihua asked, “Xiao Yi, have you met any girls you like since starting university?”
“Not yet…”
Jiang Yichen replied, lost in thought.
According to the novel he’d read in his past life, he, ‘Jiang Yichen,’ wasn’t even a character…
The entire story focused on the love-hate relationship between Jiang Suihua and Qin Ling.
“A few girls in my class seem to like you, though.”
Jiang Suihua propped her chin up with her hands.
Dressed in a white dress, she was a striking sight in the small cafeteria.
Many eyes turned towards her, hoping to catch the attention of this freshman school beauty.
Unfortunately, Jiang Suihua’s attention was solely on her younger brother. She reached out and ruffled his fluffy hair.
Her brother, standing at six feet tall and handsome with exquisite features, had many girls in her class trying to get his contact information.
“Forget it, sis, don’t bother setting me up. I’ll find someone myself.”
Jiang Yichen shrugged.
He and Jiang Suihua weren’t in the same class; he was in the piano department, while she was in the vocal music department.
Some boys in his class had also tried to get his sister’s contact information, but he’d refused…
Simply because he felt the boys in his class weren’t good enough for his gentle sister.
“If you do find someone you like, be sure to tell me,” Jiang Suihua said with a light smile. “Your older sister will help you vet her.”
“Um…”
Jiang Yichen had originally planned to find a girlfriend and have a campus romance in university.
But… he didn’t have the time. He needed to ensure Jiang Suihua and Qin Ling wouldn’t have any contact or interaction.
Easy to say, hard to do.
According to the novel, Qin Ling was Jiang Suihua’s professor—how could they possibly avoid interaction?
Seeing her brother lost in thought, Jiang Suihua didn’t interrupt but picked up her phone and started scrolling.
【Lin Teacher: @All members, the class schedule is out. Please take a look.】
A group message popped up on her phone screen. Jiang Suihua clicked on it.
Goodness, all 8 a.m. classes…
Monday to Friday, except for Friday afternoon, her schedule was completely packed.
However, what concerned her more was… her professor wasn’t the ‘Qin Ling’ her brother had mentioned…
“Xiao Yi, you said my professor’s surname is Qin?” Jiang Suihua asked.
“Yes, Qin, and her given name is Ling,” Jiang Yichen replied.
Jiang Suihua handed him her phone. “Where did you hear this unreliable information? Look at my schedule; Qin Ling’s name isn’t on it.”
Jiang Yichen took the phone, examined it carefully, and exclaimed in surprise, “How is this possible!?”
“Xiao Yi, who told you Qin Ling is my professor? And… do you know Qin Ling? Who is she? What’s your relationship with her?”
“Wait, wait…” Jiang Yichen rubbed his temples.
Why was this different from what he expected?
He clearly remembered Qin Ling being Jiang Suihua’s professor.
“Our hot pot seems to be ready; I’ll go get it.”
Jiang Suihua found her brother’s behavior strange today…
It was lunchtime.
The small cafeteria gradually filled with people.
The ancients said, “Beauty is a feast for the eyes,” and it was true. Looking at beautiful women while eating seemed to make the food taste better.
Jiang Suihua went to the hot pot stall, carrying the hot pot. Even the short walk attracted many glances.
But soon, everyone’s attention was drawn to another stunning sight.
At some point,
A beautiful figure appeared in the small cafeteria.
She stood there like a proud winter plum blossom, her eyes radiating a profound coldness.
Her figure was slender, her face as cold and clear as ice and snow.
It had to be admitted that some people were born as the protagonists of heaven and earth.
Not only were the diners in the small cafeteria mesmerized, but Jiang Suihua also paused, staring for several seconds. It was the back-view killer from the milk tea shop.
This was the first time she had seen such a beautiful woman…
The woman exuded an inner confidence.
“Whoa,” Lin Yao patted Qin Ling’s shoulder. “Lingling, your charm hasn’t diminished at all. Look at how captivated these students are, both male and female!”
Ignoring her best friend’s teasing, Qin Ling asked, “What to eat?”
“Let me see… how about vermicelli soup? Didn’t you love the razor clam vermicelli soup before?” Lin Yao pointed to a stall nearby.
Qin Ling glanced at the small cafeteria. “No seats left. Let’s go.”
“Oh… you’re right,” Lin Yao said regretfully. Just as she was about to leave, she caught sight of Jiang Suihua nearby. She immediately pulled Qin Ling back. “Hey, wait, there, my student. We can share a table.”
Qin Ling looked in the direction Lin Yao indicated… She saw a young man lost in thought, his eyes half-closed. “Fine.”
“…”
“Xiao Yi, look over there, such a beautiful woman!”
Jiang Suihua called out.
She wasn’t unfamiliar with beautiful women, but one this beautiful… was a first…
“Mm-hmm…”
Jiang Yichen answered absentmindedly.
He was sorting things out in his mind.
First, he was certain… this was definitely the world of the novel he’d read in his past life, because the historical trajectory here was clearly different from his past life on Earth.
Second, he was also certain that his sister was definitely the female protagonist here, Jiang Suihua—name correct, birthdate correct, identity information correct, major correct…
But why… wasn’t Qin Ling’s name on Jiang Suihua’s class schedule?
Had he missed some detail?
Jiang Yichen quickly searched his memories.
The memories of his past life were like a videotape stored in his mind; whenever he wanted, he could retrieve and review any memory.
“Jiang Suihua,” Lin Yao and Qin Ling approached.
“Teacher Lin,” Jiang Suihua, accustomed to being a good student, reflexively stood up.
“Don’t be nervous,” Lin Yao waved her hand. “I just wanted to ask if it’s convenient to share a table?”
Jiang Suihua readily agreed. “Of course.”
“Good.” Lin Yao nodded. “Thank you.”
Then, Lin Yao continued to Qin Ling, “I’ll go order. You sit first.”
Qin Ling softly hummed in response.
Striding past Jiang Yichen, she sat down beside him.
