Three minutes later, Jiang Yichen cleaned the dorm floor before heading downstairs. If his three roommates saw the mess when they returned from class, they might tear him apart.
It only took a minute to go from the second floor to the first. Jiang Yichen walked slowly because his bottom was still burning. It wasn’t because of the spiciness of the Cao’s food, but because he had been to the bathroom so many times that his bottom was raw.
Downstairs, Jiang Yichen looked around but didn’t see Qin Ling. Instead of waiting, he headed toward the school infirmary. There was no need to go to the hospital; he just needed some medicine. Going to the hospital would cost a lot of money. He currently only had eight hundred yuan, and although he was trying to make money by composing songs, he hadn’t earned anything yet…
Just as Jiang Yichen left, Qin Ling’s car pulled up in front of the boys’ dormitory. Seeing that Jiang Yichen wasn’t there, she immediately called him.
Jiang Yichen saw the incoming call and hesitated to answer. He knew that if he didn’t, he might face dire consequences. After careful consideration, he answered.
“Hello, Professor Qin.”
“Not downstairs yet?”
“Um… I’m on my way to the infirmary. I don’t think I need to go to the hospital. It’s just a minor issue…”
“Beep, beep, beep…”
Before Jiang Yichen could finish, the call was disconnected.
Less than half a minute later, a car horn blared behind him. Jiang Yichen turned around and saw a familiar SUV. Upon closer inspection, he saw Qin Ling’s beautiful face, as dark as if she were about to devour him alive.
Qin Ling parked in front of him, rolled down the window, and said, “Get in the car.”
“……” Jiang Yichen didn’t move. “Professor Qin, I just ate something bad. I just need some medicine and to drink plenty of water. There’s really no need to go to the hospital…”
Before he could finish, Qin Ling got out of the car, strode toward him, grabbed his arm, and opened the passenger door.
Jiang Yichen tried to pull away.
Qin Ling looked at him intently, her red lips parting slightly. “I said get in the car.”
“Professor Qin…”
“Don’t call me Professor Qin!” Qin Ling shoved him into the passenger seat and slammed the door shut.
Jiang Yichen tried to open the door, but Qin Ling pushed him back.
“Sit still!” Qin Ling snapped.
Jiang Yichen: “……”
That silenced him.
Qin Ling walked around the front of the car to the driver’s seat.
“Fasten your seatbelt,” Qin Ling instructed.
“Professor Qin… You have to listen to me…”
Qin Ling: “I said fasten your seatbelt!”
Jiang Yichen obediently fastened his seatbelt and said, “Professor Qin, now can you listen to me? This…”
“Shut up.”
Jiang Yichen: “……. “
Great. He had gotten himself a domineering woman.
Jiang Yichen resigned himself to looking out the window.
The half-hour drive was eerily silent.
At the hospital, Qin Ling parked the car. This time, before she could speak, Jiang Yichen obediently got out and waited.
Registration, waiting, doctor’s examination…
Thanks to Professor Qin’s efforts, Jiang Yichen was admitted to a high-end hospital room. In addition to seeing a proctologist, Qin Ling also had him checked for brain issues, including a brain CT scan.
The doctor said his brain was fine, but Professor Qin didn’t think so, mentioning his fainting spell in the dorm.
The doctor recommended a two-day observation.
Jiang Yichen immediately protested, insisting he was fine.
However, Qin Ling ignored him, pulling out her VIP card and checking him into a high-end ward.
Lying in bed in his hospital gown, Jiang Yichen surveyed the luxurious room and asked Qin Ling, “Professor Qin, how much does this room cost per night?”
Qin Ling understood his concern. “Don’t worry, I’ve already taken care of it.”
Professor Qin arrived quickly and left just as quickly. She found him two high-class nurses and then returned to school to continue teaching.
……
In the evening, Jiang Yichen received messages from his three roommates.
Zhang Wei: “Lao Jiang, where did you go? Come back and play games; I need a few more points to reach Asura.”
Shen An: “Jiang Yichen! Why is my toilet paper missing again!”
Zheng Mingcheng: “Where are you? What are we having for dinner?”
Jiang Yichen replied to each message.
Qin Ling returned to the hospital.
“Did you have dinner?” Qin Ling asked.
“Yes,” Jiang Yichen replied.
Perhaps because of the constant back-and-forth, Qin Ling looked tired. Although Professor Qin was usually strict and a bit domineering, she still cared about her students.
Jiang Yichen thought to himself.
Qin Ling sat down by his bed.
After a while, someone came in carrying a takeout container of clam noodle soup.
Qin Ling got up, took it, and sat at a small round table, eating slowly.
Jiang Yichen looked over curiously.
He saw several torn packets of vinegar and a small container of cilantro.
It was just as he remembered; Qin Ling liked sour things and was a cilantro-lover.
Jiang Yichen got out of bed and sat next to Qin Ling. “Professor Qin, I feel much better. I want to go back to school.”
He had been lying in bed all afternoon and felt like he was starting to mold. He didn’t know what to do.
“No.”
“But I’ve already had all the tests. The doctor said I just ate something bad and had some diarrhea…”
“No means no.”
“……” Jiang Yichen rolled his eyes, watching Qin Ling slurp her noodle soup. He had the urge to cover her head with the food container…
Forget it. Two days wasn’t that long. He wouldn’t have to go to 8 AM classes, but it might be a bit boring…
