Chapter 56: Cut a Bit?
“Then how should I address you?”
The man smoothly changed his way of calling her. “Madam? Baby? Which one does my wife prefer?”
His deep voice carried a lingering warmth, like a dangerous predator coaxing an innocent little rabbit.
The delicate beauty’s eyelashes fluttered non-stop before she finally gathered the courage to look up. Her long lashes lifted, revealing a pair of round, moist eyes—
Eyes filled with spring waters.
A gaze dripping with charm.
“Mr. Pei, we’re both adults.”
The man’s dark, piercing gaze locked onto her. “So?”
The little beauty bit her plump, rosy lips, making them even redder, like ripe berries ready to burst.
“This kind of thing… after it happens, it’s over. It’s not a big deal—”
“Not a big deal?”
Something flickered in the man’s eyes, and his expression darkened.
Suppressing his emotions, he asked, “So, Yaoyao, you’ve done this before with someone else?”
With that damned ex-boyfriend, perhaps?
Pei Heng clenched his jaw tightly, barely holding back the urge to rip that unseen man apart.
The little beauty puffed her fair cheeks and denied softly,
“Of course not!”
A dangerous fire ignited in the man’s eyes.
His gaze swept over Jiang Yaoyao inch by inch, like an all-consuming flame, ready to burn away every unnecessary piece of fabric on her body.
Under his aggressive stare, Jiang Yaoyao felt like she had nowhere to hide.
She lifted her delicate chin and, with a determined heart, declared—
“Pei Heng, I can never be with you.”
His sharp features tensed further, jawline taut as steel. His voice dropped to a chilling depth,
“Why?”
So… she still had lingering feelings for another man?
Countless violent thoughts flashed through his mind.
He had already planned what kind of golden cage he would build in the deepest part of his estate. What color carpet to lay down. What kind of chains to use.
But in the next second, her soft voice rang out again, laced with hesitation and something close to surrender—
“We’re just not suitable for each other!”
Pei Heng frowned. “Who told you that? In what way are we not suitable?”
The little beauty’s face turned as red as a cloth soaked in dye. The warmth spread up to her ears, even her slender neck blushing crimson.
“We’re just not. Pei Heng, being your wife would shorten my lifespan.”
Pei Heng: “???”
Jiang Yaoyao’s face turned even redder.
She had finally figured it out.
Even if, in the original story, Pei Heng’s arranged marriage partner wasn’t killed by him, even if they had a relatively good relationship—
She probably wouldn’t have lived long.
Pei Heng… was just too terrifying!
Even his wrist was thicker than hers.
How was that normal?
Even if she was a bit naive and not very experienced in such matters, she knew well enough that his size was… excessive.
Better to forget about it.
Pei Heng was undeniably handsome and treated her well.
But his flaw was way too obvious.
At his intensity, she’d end up dying in his bed one day.
She could already imagine the headlines:
“Starlet Perishes in Wealthy Household, Tragic Death Linked to Scandalous Affair.”
If she died like that, she’d be a laughingstock for eternity.
Jiang Yaoyao habitually bit her red lips, softening her tone but firmly rejecting him,
“Anyway… there’s no way I’m going to be with you!”
After speaking, she guiltily sneaked a glance below Pei Heng’s neatly pressed white shirt.
That one glance made the man, who had been curious, suddenly catch on to something strange.
Pei Heng was naturally sharp. The hint of hesitation in her demeanor was enough for him to piece things together. A bizarre thought surfaced in his mind.
The handsome man twitched the corner of his lips, his voice laced with disbelief—
“You’re rejecting me… because of that?”
Last night, Jiang Yaoyao cried several times. Her delicate little face was covered in tears, and her soft, pleading voice melted into his embrace. Every whispered “husband” sent shivers down Pei Heng’s spine.
He felt sorry for Jiang Yaoyao.
He cherished the fact that it was her first time.
He had even restrained himself as much as possible, letting her rest for half the night.
So now… she thought he wasn’t good enough? She wasn’t satisfied?
A flood of chaotic thoughts raced through Pei Heng’s mind. He leaned down, completely enveloping the small figure in his arms. His obsidian eyes fixated on her, burning with intensity as they roamed over her petite frame.
He took her small hand and pressed it against his toned waist.
His deep, husky voice carried a hint of restrained desire. The hard lines of his muscles radiated heat, nearly scorching Jiang Yaoyao’s palm.
“Did I not perform well last night?”
“Yaoyao, give me another chance. I promise, I’ll make sure you’re satisfied.”
His scorching breath caressed the tender skin of her neck, spreading like wildfire.
“Okay?”
Jiang Yaoyao’s knees buckled, losing strength.
She involuntarily slid down against the wall, only to be lifted back up by the man’s single-handed grip around her waist.
“As long as you don’t say stop, I’ll never stop. Okay?”
Jiang Yaoyao’s face burned bright red, her mind reduced to a dizzy mess.
Pei Heng… had completely misunderstood.
That deep, piercing gaze locked onto her face, making Jiang Yaoyao’s fingers tremble with shame.
But the more she stayed silent, the more intense his stare became.
Taking a deep breath, she finally mustered the courage to explain. She didn’t even dare to lift her eyes, and her soft voice quivered with embarrassment.
“No… Pei Heng, it’s not that you’re bad.”
“It’s just… you’re too exceptional—”
Jiang Yaoyao’s cheeks flushed crimson, shyness clouding her delicate features.
“We’re simply not compatible, Pei Heng.”
The man’s brows furrowed deeper as he tried to make sense of her words.
The hum of the elevator echoed in the hallway—someone would step out at any moment and witness this awkward scene.
Jiang Yaoyao steadied her wobbly legs, grabbed Pei Heng’s tie, and yanked him closer.
Her soft breath tickled his ear as she whispered quickly—
“Pei Heng, you’re… too big.”
“We’re not suitable for each other. Goodbye!”
With that, Jiang Yaoyao seized the moment and bolted toward her room.
Pei Heng stood frozen in place for several seconds.
So…
He was being rejected… because he was too well-developed???
The strikingly handsome man stood there in stunned disbelief, as if struck by lightning.
After a moment of hesitation, he stepped forward and knocked on her door.
“Yaoyao.”
His phone buzzed.
Opening WeChat, he saw a new message from the pinned contact at the top.
[Don’t say anything. Don’t say anything…]
[Pei Heng, I don’t want to be stabbed to death by you.]
[Go find someone else!]
Pei Heng: “…”
The dignified and refined man stood outside her apartment for a long time.
The cold-blooded heir, known for his decisiveness and ruthlessness, found himself at a loss for the first time.
Lowering his gaze, he glanced at himself.
His face darkened even further.
If he were being rejected for any other reason, he could find a solution.
But for this? What was he supposed to do?
…
Was he supposed to cut a bit off???
