The next day, when the three of them gathered at the agreed-upon spot, the senior’s heart was a mess.
Because Su Bai and Lin Xiao were dressed exactly the same! Two handsome guys with completely different styles walking down the street together like that—there couldn’t be anything more eye-catching.
Su Bai kept sneaking glances at Lin Xiao, looking at him and then at himself, before lowering his head and smiling sweetly like a fool.
Senior: …
Lin Xiao greeted the senior with a bright smile, but his gaze was cold, creating a strange contrast. “Hi, senior.”
Feeling awkward, the senior teased Su Bai, “Wow, matching outfits—is he your boyfriend?”
Su Bai answered honestly, “He’s not my boyfriend.”
The senior instantly felt relieved and relaxed.
Su Bai seriously added, “I’m currently pursuing him. He will be my boyfriend in the future.”
Hearing that, Lin Xiao was over the moon, feeling so ecstatic that his legs almost floated. Yet, he kept a calm and composed expression on his face.
The senior glanced at Lin Xiao unwillingly, his face darkening, and stayed silent.
The movie was scheduled for the afternoon, so the three of them first found a restaurant downstairs to have lunch.
The senior handed the menu to Su Bai and said, “Su Bai, you order.”
Su Bai looked down, flipping through the menu. “What do you like to eat, senior?” he asked.
With ulterior motives, the senior replied, “I like whatever you like.”
Before Su Bai could respond, Lin Xiao, with a blank expression, took the menu from his hands and quickly ordered several dishes. Then, with a commanding air, he closed the menu and said, “That makes it easy. I already know everything Su Bai likes to eat.”
Su Bai nodded honestly. “That’s true.”
The senior’s attempt at flirting backfired, and instead, he was forced to swallow a heavy dose of ‘couple vibes,’ feeling like his heart was bleeding.
After a while, the dishes were served, and the three of them ate in silence. Throughout the meal, the senior and Lin Xiao kept trying to shoot daggers at each other with their eyes, making the atmosphere tense.
Suddenly, Su Bai, completely oblivious to the tension, looked up at Lin Xiao and complained, “There you go again, being picky with your food.”
Lin Xiao picked the veggies out of his bowl and replied, “I don’t like eating vegetables.”
Su Bai picked up some vegetables with his chopsticks and placed them in Lin Xiao’s bowl, speaking earnestly, “You can’t not eat any at all. You need to eat a few bites for a balanced diet. Your mom even specifically asked me to keep an eye on you.”
Lin Xiao grinned mischievously. “Alright, I’ll eat, but you have to feed me.”
Senior: Cough.
Su Bai casually picked up the stir-fried vegetables and fed them to Lin Xiao, while kindly nagging, “You’re all grown up, yet you still need someone to feed you like a child.”
Lin Xiao’s gaze was focused as he replied, “In front of you, I’ll always be a child.”
Senior: Cough, cough.
The atmosphere was undeniably intimate, but Su Bai’s mind was only focused on making Lin Xiao eat more vegetables. He quickly picked up a few more pieces and fed them to him in one go.
Lin Xiao’s face turned green from the vegetables, and he gulped down half a cup of water, teasing, “I ate so many vegetables for you, aren’t you going to give me some reward?”
Senior: Cough, cough, cough.
Su Bai, in his usual manner, picked up a piece of stewed chicken and fed it to Lin Xiao, saying, “Here’s your reward.”
Lin Xiao, fully satisfied, ate the chicken and then pointed at the sweet and sour pork, “I want that too.”
Su Bai skillfully picked up a piece of the pork and fed it to him, then cutely pouted, “Two bites of meat, one bite of veggies.”
Lin Xiao spoke softly, “Sure, as long as you feed me, I’d eat even rat poison.”
Su Bai shook his head wildly. “I’m not feeding you rat poison.”
Lin Xiao chuckled softly.
Their display of affection was so obvious that even the passing waiter couldn’t help but stare, but Su Bai remained completely oblivious.
The senior coughed so loudly it seemed like the sky would collapse: Cough, cough, cough, cough!
Su Bai, surprised, looked at him and asked, “Senior, what’s wrong?”
The senior weakly pointed at the ribs in front of Su Bai, saying, “I want to eat that.”
He was hoping Su Bai would pick them up and hand them over.
But instead, Su Bai hurriedly picked up the whole plate of ribs and placed it in front of the senior, apologizing, “It was too far away. Senior, you have more.”
The senior’s heart was instantly shattered…
After the meal, the senior, who had been tortured to pieces, made an excuse about having a stomachache and left.
Su Bai found two small sofas in the cinema waiting area and sat down with Lin Xiao. After a moment of thinking, he suddenly asked, “Was the food from that restaurant not clean?”
Lin Xiao, in a good mood after defeating his rival, crossed his legs and said, “It shouldn’t be.”
Su Bai, concerned, replied, “But the senior had a stomachache after eating. We might get it too.”
Lin Xiao: …
Su Bai pulled out a packet of tissues and handed it to Lin Xiao, “Here, take this. Just in case we need it later. I have another pack with me.”
Lin Xiao let out a laugh through his nose, “He wasn’t really having a stomachache.”
Su Bai, completely confused, asked, “Then why did he lie to us?”
Lin Xiao ruffled Su Bai’s hair with a mix of affection and annoyance, “Just stay away from him in the future, you little fool.”
Su Bai mumbled, lowering his head, “My IQ is 140…”
Lin Xiao looked down at him, a smile playing at the corners of his lips.
“Still a little fool,” he teased.
The author says: “They’re not far from getting together 😆😆”
