Chapter 3 Knocking
Back in the room, Lin Qiye closed the door.
He didn’t turn on the light.
It was late at night, and the starlight outside the window fell on the ground. In the dark room, Lin Qiye sat at the desk and slowly took off the black satin on his eyes.
In the mirror on the desk, the face of a handsome teenager was reflected.
Lin Qiye looks very good, if he takes off the blindfolded black satin and takes care of it a little bit, with that inexplicable cold and deep temperament, he will be a handsome guy at the Institute.
It’s a pity that his eyes are haunted by black satin all year round, and his status as a disabled person completely obscures his brilliance.
In the mirror, Lin Qiye had his eyes closed.
His brows were slightly frowned upon, and the eyelids covering his eyes trembled as if he was trying hard to open them, and even his hands clenched into fists.
One second, two seconds, three seconds…
His body trembled for a long time, and finally, he couldn’t bear it anymore, he suddenly relaxed and gasped heavily.
A few drops of sweat ran across Lin Qiye’s cheeks, and a wave of anger appeared between his brows.
Almost… just a little bit!
Why is it so bad every time?
When will he open his eyes again and see the world for himself?
He lied when he said he could see now.
His eyes couldn’t be opened at all, not even a slit.
But he didn’t lie.
Because even with his eyes closed, he can clearly “see” everything around him.
The feeling was very strange, like having eyes all over his body, being able to perceive everything in all directions without dead ends, and seeing more clearly and farther than the original eyes.
At first, he couldn’t do it. During the first five years of blindness, he was no different from the rest of the truly blind people. He could only perceive the world with his voice and the guide stick in his hand.
But for some reason, five years ago his eyes seemed to have undergone some changes, and he began to perceive his surroundings.
At first, it was only a few centimetres in front of him, but as time went by, he could “see” farther and farther, and became more and more clear. Now, five years later, the range he could “see” had reached ten metres.
If a normal person can only see ten metres, then his eyes are still useless, but for a teenager who has lost his sight, these ten metres mean everything.
The most important thing is that the ten meters he “sees” are ten meters that ignore obstacles.
In other words, within a radius of ten metres around Lin Qiye, he has an absolute vision. To put it bluntly, he can see through, but at a higher level, he can see every particle of dust floating in the air, see every part inside the machine, every small movement of the magician under the table…
And the source of this ability seems to be the eyes that have been closed tightly for ten years under the black satin.
Although he has this kind of superpower, Lin Qiye is still not satisfied. It is good to have an absolute vision of ten metres, but he wants to use his own eyes to see the world for himself.
This was the obsession of a teenager.
Although he failed to open his eyes today, he can feel…
It’s not far from really opening his eyes.
After washing up, Lin Qiye went to bed early to prepare for bed as usual. The life of a blind person for so many years is not all a bad thing, at least he has developed a good habit of going to bed early.
But lying on the bed, subconsciously the picture appeared in his mind again.
Under the dark cosmic sky, on the surface of the dead moon, the grey-white earth reflects the bleak starlight. In the centre of the highest and largest moon crater, stands a figure that looks like a sculpture.
The figure stood there quietly as if it had existed since eternity, the divine golden light bloomed, and that divine power was enough to make all living things crawl to the ground.
Behind him, six exaggeratedly large wings spread out, blocking the sun’s rays projected from behind, leaving a huge shadow on the silver-grey ground.
But what was imprinted in Lin Qiye’s mind, lingering was his eyes.
Those eyes were full of divine power, burning like a furnace, as dazzling as the sun at close range!
He saw those eyes, and for just a moment, his world was only night.
Ten years ago, he told the truth but was diagnosed as mentally ill.
But he knows best in his heart what is real and what is delusional.
Ever since he saw the Angel on the moon, he knew that this world… it’s not as simple as it seems.
Slowly, Lin Qiye fell into a deep sleep.
What he didn’t know was that the moment he fell asleep, in the dark room, two bright golden lights shot out from the slit of his eyes and disappeared in a flash.
…
Da da da……
In the misty world, Lin Qiye walked alone.
The surroundings mist rolled, seemingly endless, obviously walking in the void, but every time Lin Qiye landed, he would make a crisp collision sound, as if under his feet, there was an invisible ground.
Lin Qiye looked down at his body and sighed.
“It’s this dream again… I’m tired of knocking on the door every night, okay?” Lin Qiye shook his head helplessly and took a step forward.
The next moment, the surrounding mist rolled back, and a modern building with a strange style appeared in front of Lin Qiye.
It is said to be weird because it is a modern-style building, but in the processing of some details, it is full of mystery.
For example, the big iron gate carved with gods in the sky, the electric lamp like fireballs burning, and the carved tiles floating under the feet…
It’s like a mix of modern architectural style and those temple elements in ancient mythology. Which is not similar, but has an indescribable beauty.
Lin Qiye knew this kind of building, and it looked very familiar.
This is very similar to the Sunshine Mental Hospital where he lived for a year. The strongest evidence is that the words “Sunshine Mental Hospital” were originally written on the door and have become another line.
– Mental hospital of the Gods.
“Inexplicable place.” Lin Qiye shook his head, stepped forward, and walked directly in front of the big iron gate.
Five years ago, it was not only his body that suddenly began to change but also his dreams.
For five years, he had the same dream every night, and the protagonist of these dreams was this mysterious mental hospital of the Gods.
It’s just that the door of this mental hospital has been closed tightly, and cannot be opened in any way.
Lin Qiye circled the mental hospital countless times, and there was only one entrance, the big iron gate on the front. Although the surrounding walls were not high, the most outrageous thing was that every time Lin Qiye jumped up, the height of the wall would also increase accordingly.
As for brute force… Even if Lin Qiye was knocked to pieces, the big iron gate wouldn’t even move.
There seems to be only one way to enter.
Knock on the door.
Lin Qiye grabbed the ring on the big iron door, took a deep breath, and slapped it heavily on the surface of the iron door.
clang–!
As the sound of an ancient bell humming echoed in the mental hospital, the big iron gate itself shook, shook, and did not open.
clang–!
Again, the iron door still didn’t open.
Lin Qiye didn’t seem surprised or annoyed by this and continued to knock patiently.
In the past five years, he has been deeply aware of the rules of this dream, except knocking, no other means can open the big iron door, and in this dream, he can only knock on the door… It seems that nothing else can be done.
Fortunately, in the dream, he will not get tired, otherwise, his body would have been exhausted long ago.
Thus, Lin Qiye was like a hardworking worker, knocking on the door diligently for another night…
