Deep Emotional Seduction Chapter 6

Chapter 6

“If he really does want to fight for the inheritance, delay your divorce a little longer. That way, you can get more money to support me!”

Her calculation was so loud it could practically spark a fire. Lin Yuxi calmly shattered her fantasy: “Did you forget? We signed a prenuptial agreement.”

“Damn.” Yu Jiaxiao’s dream of sudden wealth was crushed, and she started feeling disillusioned. “He better not get that inheritance, or I’ll feel really bitter!”

As for what Zhou Yanjing was planning, Lin Yuxi truly didn’t know.

Recently, it was true that Zhou Qizhen had been considering stepping down. From what Lin Yuxi knew, he intended to have his eldest son, Zhou Shengan, take over.

That Zhou Yanjing had returned quietly at such a sensitive time wasn’t surprising, and naturally sparked speculation.

However, Zhou Yanjing had always had a good relationship with his older brother. Plus, his own Boyu Investment Bank had been doing exceptionally well in recent years.

Brothers turning against each other? Lin Yuxi thought it was unlikely.

So why had he come back?

Probably for the divorce, Lin Yuxi thought.

He was probably eager to get it over with.

Yu Jiaxiao had gone to the restroom, and Lin Yuxi was focused on her food. She had only taken a couple of bites when she heard someone say, “What a coincidence.”

She looked up to see Song Yunfan entering the bar with a female companion.

Song Yunfan was one of Zhou Yanjing’s childhood friends.

He glanced upstairs toward the private rooms, a strange expression flashing across his face, but it disappeared quickly.

“Are you here by yourself?” he asked.

“I’m here with Jiaxiao,” Lin Yuxi replied. “What a coincidence seeing you here.”

“Just meeting up with some friends.” Song Yunfan’s response was brief, and he didn’t extend an invitation for her to join them upstairs.

Lin Yuxi wasn’t very familiar with him, so after a few polite words, they had nothing more to say. Song Yunfan led his companion upstairs.

Soon, Yu Jiaxiao came rushing back, looking serious.

“Guess who I just saw?”

Lin Yuxi guessed randomly, “The God of Wealth?”

Yu Jiaxiao wasn’t in the mood for jokes. “Your husband!”

Lin Yuxi paused in her movements.

No wonder Song Yunfan had looked like he wanted to say something earlier.

“They had a bunch of women with them, all dressed provocatively! That scumbag! He never comes home because he’s out playing around with other women. What happened to his sense of decency as a man?”

“You must be mistaken. He never had any sense of decency,” Lin Yuxi responded, unbothered, as she continued eating her fries.

Lin Yuxi had just been scolded by her mother earlier that afternoon, while Zhou Yanjing seemed to be having the time of his life. Yu Jiaxiao’s anger was rising. “He’s only been back a few days, and he’s already running wild. Was he starved of women in America or something?”

“Forget about him. Drink your drink,” Lin Yuxi said.

Lin Yuxi was calm, but Yu Jiaxiao couldn’t sit still. She kept glancing toward the private room upstairs, growing more furious by the minute. Finally, she slammed down her drink and stood up.

“I’m going to the bathroom again.”

Going twice in five minutes—it was at the point where she needed to see a doctor.

“Do you need to go to the hospital to check your bladder?”

“No, no. Both my bladders are fine.”

“You only have one bladder, so you should definitely see a doctor.”

Before Lin Yuxi could finish speaking, Yu Jiaxiao had already dashed off.

Not even two minutes passed before there was a commotion from upstairs. Security was trying to block someone: “Miss, this is a VIP room. You can’t go in.”

“Why can’t I go in? Go ask the people inside if they dare stop me!” Yu Jiaxiao said as she shoved the security guard aside and barged in.

Lin Yuxi was momentarily stunned before quickly getting up and running upstairs.

Before she even entered, she could hear Yu Jiaxiao’s sarcastic voice from inside: “Oops, I must’ve walked into the wrong room. Wow, these handsome guys sure look familiar. Why do they look exactly like my friend’s deadbeat husband and his idiot friends?”

Lin Yuxi sighed inwardly.

Yu Jiaxiao was bold, but none of the people inside were easy to deal with.

These rich young men all came from powerful families. If any of them got annoyed, they could crush her with a flick of their fingers.

For a second, Lin Yuxi considered turning around and letting Yu Jiaxiao fend for herself.

After all, that’s what best friends were for—buying you breakfast, but not taking bullets for you.

When disaster strikes, sorry, but I’m outta here.

A cold voice interrupted her thoughts: “Yu Jiaxiao, what the hell are you doing here, acting crazy?”

The one who spoke was Shi Tang, the most reckless young master of the Shi family, spoiled and arrogant, and with a notoriously bad temper. He was also one of Zhou Yanjing’s least approachable friends.

With his legs crossed, Shi Tang glared at Yu Jiaxiao with displeasure.

“Acting crazy at your great-aunt!” Yu Jiaxiao hadn’t drunk much, but her courage was up. Furious, she charged up the stairs after spotting Zhou Yanjing. “See your great-aunt and kneel, you ungrateful brat!”

“You must be out of your mind!” Shi Tang stood up angrily, tossing his glass aside.

Yu Jiaxiao crossed her arms and sneered. “What? You think you can lay a hand on your great-aunt? If lightning strikes, you’ll be the first one hit!”

“You” Shi Tang cursed as he charged toward her, but Lin Yuxi stepped in, pulling Yu Jiaxiao behind her.

Shi Tang stopped in his tracks, his anger faltering.

“Sister-in-law?”

That one word, sister-in-law, made the whole room fall silent as everyone looked toward the door.

Zhou Yanjing, sitting on a black leather sofa in the corner, lazily held a cigarette between his fingers. His indifferent gaze passed over Shi Tang and settled on Lin Yuxi.

Lin Yuxi’s beauty was striking, her features bold yet delicate. Even without makeup, she was stunning. Her flawless face seemed to glow softly under the crystal lights.

“Sorry, she’s had a bit too much to drink. Please forgive her,” Lin Yuxi said calmly.

If it had been anyone else, Shi Tang would’ve thrown them out by now. But after glancing at Zhou Yanjing, he swallowed his anger. “I won’t argue with an idiot.”

Yu Jiaxiao was about to curse him back, but Lin Yuxi pinched her, and the profanity turned into a yelp.

Shi Tang, still annoyed, grumbled, “Since you’re here, why don’t you join us?”

Lin Yuxi glanced toward Zhou Yanjing.

The air in the luxurious VIP room smelled heavily of alcohol, the French crystal chandelier casting a champagne-colored glow over everything. The atmosphere was much more opulent than the bar downstairs.

The table was covered with all kinds of expensive foreign liquors she couldn’t name, and around the leather couches sat a mix of rich young men and beautiful women.

Zhou Yanjing sat in the back, legs crossed, his tailored black trousers highlighting his long, lean frame.

Beside him sat a pretty woman.

Lin Yuxi recognized her it was the same woman from the photos last time.

From the moment Lin Yuxi entered, the room’s lively atmosphere had grown tense.

She asked, “Is this the ‘busy’ you’ve been talking about lately?”

Busy drinking and partying with women?

Zhou Yanjing rubbed his temple lightly, a teasing, half-smile playing on his lips through the swirling smoke.

“Just started having fun, and you caught me. You’re really keeping tabs on me, huh?”

He spoke casually, as if not returning calls or coming home for days was no big deal.

“Then go ahead and continue being busy.” Lin Yuxi sat down with Yu Jiaxiao. “I’ll wait until you’re free.”

The room fell into silence.

Shi Tang glared, and Song Yunfan kicked him under the table, muttering, “Are you stupid? You actually told them to sit down.”

Shi Tang grumbled, “I was just being polite. How was I supposed to know she’d actually sit?”

Lin Yuxi remained quiet after speaking, not disrupting Zhou Yanjing’s fun. She sat far away from him, calmly eating pistachios.

Yu Jiaxiao hadn’t expected Lin Yuxi to stay, and now felt a little awkward.

But she couldn’t hold things in, and after a while, she began grumbling while holding a beer bottle.

“Damn, this place is so fancy! Our whole table’s worth less than the bottom of this glass!”

“Well, drink up then,” Lin Yuxi handed her another bottle.

After all, Zhou Yanjing had plenty of money. Since they were here, they might as well enjoy it.

“Second Young Master~” the woman beside Zhou Yanjing called sweetly. “Why are you ignoring me?”

Zhou Yanjing, cigarette still in hand, looked lazy and indifferent, his unfocused gaze lost somewhere in the distance. “Tired.”

“Should I help you upstairs to rest?”

The girls accompanying them didn’t know the relationship between Lin Yuxi and Zhou Yanjing, but from those two sentences just now, it was pretty obvious that Lin Yuxi was the legitimate wife.

However, since Zhou Yanjing himself wasn’t concerned, why should they be?
