“Why do you say there’s no turning back? As long as you go back and admit your mistake, you can turn things around, can’t you?” Xie Zhen tilted his head, staring at him with a serious expression.
Xu Mo immediately laughed, his smile reaching his eyes as he picked up his tea cup and took a sip, saying, “I don’t know your real purpose for seeking me out, but if you’re here to seek justice for Xie Bingyan, I advise you to mind your own business!”
“You are a member of the Xu family and the Xie family. You carry the blood of both families. I hope you understand this!” Xie Zhen stared at him, his expression displeased.
“I see you’re wearing nice clothes, so I’m willing to talk with you. But don’t think I’m an easygoing person!” Xu Mo said. “You want me to go back and admit my mistake to her? To apologize to her? Do you think I haven’t done that already? Colonel Xie, do you think I haven’t done that?”
As he spoke, Xu Mo continued to sneer, “If you go back to the Xu family and ask around, you’ll know whether I’ve done it or not. You want me to apologize? Is she even worthy?”
Xie Zhen frowned.
“I have no grudge against you, nor do I want to lose my temper with you! Your intentions may be good, but you’ve approached the wrong person!” Xu Mo placed the tea cup on the table and stared at him. “Don’t think you can use the Xie family to pressure me. I have a pretty good idea of what the Xie family is about! This matter will not end like this!”
“Do you want to bring down the Xu family before you’re satisfied?” Xie Zhen’s face was filled with displeasure, seemingly angered.
“Look at what you’re saying! Didn’t they want me bankrupt too? Haven’t they always planned for my bankruptcy? I’ve heard Xie Bingyan say it more than once or twice! She hasn’t said it just once or twice, right to my face! You want me to apologize? Are you worthy?” Xu Mo replied.
Xie Zhen, now seemingly even more enraged, said, “Acting this way won’t end well for you. Neither the Xie family nor the Xu family will allow any problems to arise!”
“Then bring it on! Colonel Xie, come on!” Xu Mo said with a smile as he looked at him. “Isn’t this why you came? To issue a challenge? What’s so unexpected about that? I’m not surprised at all!”
Hearing this, Xie Zhen felt a headache coming on.
Xu Mo really was just like Xie Bingyan, completely inheriting her stubborn and unyielding nature.
What made it worse was that he was also very smart.
“As long as you soften up and admit your mistake, I can convey it to her and help you return to the Xu family! You could even gain the support of the Xie family! Don’t you want to succeed? We can help you succeed!” Xie Zhen’s tone softened, realizing that force wouldn’t work.
Xu Mo laughed immediately. “Colonel Xie, I think it’s best for your Xie family to stay out of this! It’s better not to meddle, or you might end up causing trouble for yourselves!”
Hearing this, Xie Zhen couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger. He quickly responded, “Continuing to fight with her like this will only end in mutual destruction, making a laughingstock of both of you. No matter who gets hurt in the end, you’ll regret it deeply! Is that the result you want?”
“Yes! That’s exactly what I want!”
“You…” Xie Zhen was taken aback.
“Colonel Xie, do you know what I’ve been doing all these years? Do you want me to tell you in detail? Actually, I don’t hate them, not one bit! Most of the time, I can talk to them calmly, even chat and joke with them!” Xu Mo smiled.
“But you need to understand, right now, I’m only interested in bringing them down! Right now, I’m only interested in destroying them! You might think I’m crazy, but this is what I want! My relentless efforts have all been for the arrival of this day!”
“Do you think I haven’t admitted my mistakes? Do you think I haven’t cried and begged for mercy? Do you think I haven’t humbled myself, gotten down on my knees, and pleaded?”
“It’s useless, Colonel Xie! None of it works!” Xu Mo took a sip of tea. “You don’t understand what has happened. Everything stems from hatred! From the day I was born, she has wanted to kill me. If I hadn’t been lucky, I wouldn’t be alive today!”
Hearing this, Xie Zhen felt an even greater headache.
“It’s no longer about hate or who won’t let go of whom! The only thing that matters to me now is this matter. As long as there is even the slightest possibility of achieving my goal, I will spare no effort to make it happen! So, we can drink tea, we can eat, but as for making peace… get lost!” Xu Mo mocked.
Xie Zhen immediately felt that this mother and son were both crazier and more stubborn than the other.
Xie Bingyan was the same.
In the past, when Xie Bingyan had not yet married, she dared to slap him, and now she didn’t even regard him at all.
The day before yesterday in Xiahai City, when Xie Zhen went to see her, Xie Bingyan couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge him, with a murderous look in her eyes.
Xie Zhen suddenly lost any desire to deal with the chaotic affairs of their family.
After thinking for a moment, he said, “I’ve already taken care of Xu Deming. That illegitimate daughter will never join the Xu family!”
Xu Mo laughed upon hearing this. “That might be something you can’t control!”
“Xu Deming probably doesn’t dare to defy my orders!” Xie Zhen said angrily, his face stern.
Xu Mo replied with a smile, “You will all grow old someday, and you will all die someday. I’m much younger than you!”
“……”
Xie Zhen was so choked by this that he almost couldn’t speak.
“Alright, alright! Let’s not talk about this for now,” Xie Zhen said, feeling exhausted. “What are your current plans? How’s your startup doing?”
“Very well!” Xu Mo replied. “We just successfully raised 5 billion and are planning to launch massive subsidies for rapid expansion! We’ve made many plans and forecasts, and the data growth rate is perfect. Bringing down Xie Bingyan shouldn’t be a problem!”
Xie Zhen rubbed his forehead, speechless. “No difficulties encountered?”
“None at all! Everything is going smoothly. Both investors and customers are extremely satisfied with us! Especially on the investor side, many are contacting me, eager to give me money even at a loss. I’m considering that if we continue to expand, we’ll definitely need to keep losing money. I think losing their money is actually a pretty good option!” Xu Mo answered truthfully.
“Are you referring to Pinduoduo and Price Slashing?” Xie Zhen seemed to have looked into these.
Xu Mo nodded. “They’re in a completely different field from yours!”
“I know your field is business-related. I don’t know much about it, but sooner or later, you’ll encounter trouble!” Xie Zhen remarked.
Xu Mo looked at him and smiled. “Don’t worry about whether we’ll encounter trouble or not. In fact, we’re always preparing to face bigger challenges! What if we do encounter trouble? I believe there will be people ready to help us solve those problems!”
“…”
“You don’t know how many people are willing to invest in us right now? They’re always ready to step in and help us deal with any trouble that arises! The question is whether I want them to solve it or not!” Xu Mo shrugged and chuckled.
Upon hearing this, Xie Zhen felt his breath catching.
Thinking seriously about it, perhaps it really was true. This kid seemed to be doing exceptionally well in his career, almost a genius among geniuses compared to many young people.
Even Xie Bingyan’s adopted son couldn’t measure up to him.
It’s not just a matter of not measuring up; the difference was like night and day.
If he were to say he needed money now, there would probably be people lining up to deliver it to him.
Xie Zhen couldn’t help but feel increasingly troubled. The smarter and more capable Xu Mo showed himself to be, the more unsolvable their grievances seemed to become.
Fearful of the consequences for Xie Bingyan, they wouldn’t be good.
“We can’t allow anything to happen to Xie Bingyan. You should know or understand that, right?” After some thought, Xie Zhen spoke earnestly.
“Understood! Isn’t it just challenging the Xie family? I understand that very well!” Xu Mo replied.
“…” Xie Zhen stared at him. “That’s good to hear!”
