“Xu Mo, sister, I’m sorry…” Xu Wanting’s eyes welled up, wanting to speak.
“Don’t!” Xu Mo quickly stopped her from speaking, “Don’t come here pretending to cry in front of me! I know what you’re up to! You want to show off in front of Xu Junzhe, that’s impossible! Let me tell you, Xu Wanting, Xu Xuehui, you better never appear in front of me, or else, you’ll face consequences sooner or later!”
“Xu Mo, why are you speaking like this?” Xu Xuehui was surprised.
“How should I speak then? Kneel down and beg you? My beautiful Second Miss Xu?” Xu Mo stared coldly at her, “Don’t think I’ve forgotten, okay? This isn’t the first time you’ve tried to show off in front of Xu Junzhe, is it?”
“You…” Xu Xuehui was taken aback, “I didn’t! We just want you to come back! Come home with us first!”
“Come home with you?” Xu Mo laughed sarcastically, “Miss Xu Xuehui, have you lost your mind? Or maybe you don’t have one? Why should I go home with you? Who do you think you are? Let me tell you, I haven’t forgotten a single thing your Xu family has done! Don’t think you’ll get away with it that easily!”
Xu Wanting was taken aback, “Xu Mo, we really came to ask you to come home! Mom and Dad are looking for you. You better come back with us!”
Xu Mo stared at Xu Wanting, “Xu Wanting, you will face consequences!”
Shocked, Xu Wanting immediately fell silent.
Having said that, Xu Mo was no longer willing to say more. He walked ahead, avoiding them.
“Xu Mo!” Xu Xuehui suddenly became furious, “Mom and Dad are already angry! How dare you leave? Mom and Dad want you to go home first!”
Xu Mo turned to look at her, then chuckled, “Let me tell you, Xu Xuehui, I’ve been an orphan since I was young. I have nothing to lose! If your Xu family dares to bully me, I’m not afraid of shedding blood within five steps! Listen carefully. I am an orphan! My family, they’re all dead, completely gone. They all died clean and clear eighteen years ago!”
Xu Xuehui’s delicate body trembled violently, her eyes widening quickly.
“Don’t disturb me if there’s nothing important! The more you come, the more consequences you’ll face. You can’t escape karma!” After saying this, Xu Mo turned and walked away.
Xu Wanting’s face turned pale, and she dared not stop him, feeling her body trembling.
Xu Xuehui’s expression also changed dramatically.
Xu Mo quickly entered the school, leaving the two unable to follow, feeling a chill in their hearts.
They couldn’t recall how they got back to the car. Suddenly, both were engulfed in a moment of deathly silence, surrounded by an icy coldness.
They were taken aback by Xu Mo’s words, so harsh and extreme, filled with hatred.
Was this the same younger brother who used to be so obedient in the Xu family?
They remembered how Xu Mo used to be full of smiles in the Xu family, always wearing a flattering expression. Even when their mother, Xie Bingyan, scolded him, he could still smile and say he wasn’t causing trouble.
They still remember last year when the family went on a trip, and Xu Mo’s phone was hidden by the youngest sister, Xu Manni, making it impossible for him to contact their family.
They had agreed to wait at the entrance of the scenic area, but due to a sudden illness of Xu Junzhe, the family rushed to take him to the hospital, leaving Xu Mo behind without a second thought.
At that time, he walked over ten kilometers alone, trying to make his way back.
Even when the police brought him back, he could still smile and tell everyone that he was fine, that he had just gotten lost, causing them to worry, for which he was sorry.
Back then, his sisters were still mocking him.
Now, he was almost yelling at them, ready to explode.
How desperate must he be to say that his whole family is dead?
Xu Wanting dared not think about it.
“Sis, Xu Mo seems…” Xu Xuehui looked pained, “so unfamiliar!”
Xu Wanting sniffled, “Are you going back on your own, or should I take you back?”
“What? Aren’t we going in to look for him?” Xu Xuehui was surprised.
“After all this, what’s the point of looking for him? I have things to do, need to go to the company!” Xu Wanting felt overwhelmed and troubled, preferring not to speak.
Xu Xuehui fell silent as well.
Xu Wanting said, “Look at the records yourself! Regardless, take a look!” With that, she started the car, dropping off Xu Xuehui at her doorstep before heading to work herself.
She hadn’t gone through many of the records. The closer she got to the end, perhaps the more terrifying Xu Mo’s writings became, making her hesitant to continue reading.
It would be good for Xu Xuehui to have a look.
…
Standing at the entrance of the Xu family villa, Xu Xuehui watched Xu Wanting leave, a sense of panic welling up within her.
She understood to some extent what her elder sister was referring to, but at that moment, it was hard to fully accept.
The recent words from Xu Mo completely shocked her.
He practically cursed them all to die completely!
How could this be siblings?
It felt more like enemies!
At least Xu Mo had already labeled them as enemies!
Xu Xuehui returned home.
No one was there; her parents were out, and her younger sister, Xu Manni, wasn’t home either. She was an actress and singer with her own busy schedule.
After returning to her room and lying on the bed for a while to rest, Xu Xuehui found it hard to endure the restlessness in her heart. She took out her phone and opened the information Xu Wanting had sent her.
The content was extensive, already organized by Xu Wanting and shared with her.
Xu Xuehui had glanced at it yesterday but couldn’t bring herself to continue. However, at this moment, she had to earnestly read through it.
Perhaps they were indeed cold-hearted.
Or maybe they struggled to accept a brother like this.
“This is my second sister, Xu Xuehui, a university music teacher! My second sister, Xu Xuehui, has released music albums. Tang Lei, I’m sending this to you. Listen to it; these are songs my second sister composed… A song dedicated to our family!”
Xu Xuehui recognized that song, titled “Warm Harbor,” where the lyrics spoke of home as the only harbor, full of warmth and tenderness. The world may be vast, but home is small, and love is the only reliance…
That song was composed by her when she was nineteen, focusing on family ties. After its release, it received a lukewarm response. Xu Xuehui didn’t know how Xu Mo found it, but he had shared it with friends.
“My second sister likes to eat sticky rice balls…”
“My second sister likes to collect postcards…”
“My second sister likes beautiful dresses…”
“My second sister also enjoys eating cake…”
“Today, while mopping the floor, it was too slippery, almost causing my second sister to fall. I truly deserve to die…”
At the end of this message, there were several crying emojis.
Xu Xuehui paused, recalling this incident.
During that time, Xu Mo had been at home, assisting the housemaid with chores. He had volunteered to mop the floors and had mopped into the living room. As she came downstairs, her foot slipped, nearly causing her to fall, her face draining of color.
