Xu Mo fell silent, watching her, curious about what she might say.
“Xu Mo, with the college entrance exam approaching, you need a big boost! The doctor mentioned your anemia and poor nutrition! This is specially made porridge from me, I cook this to help replenish you!” Xu Wanting motioned towards the food container in her hand.
Glancing at it, Xu Mo paused, feeling a sense of familiarity with the food container.
Slightly blushing, Xu Wanting continued, “Do you remember how you used to make porridge for ME often? I’ve been busy with work and didn’t have time to eat! You used this food container back then, and now, I made this porridge for you!”
Xu Mo chuckled, “Are you trying to tease me again? What’s inside? You’re not trying to poison me, are you?”
Xu Wanting’s expression changed abruptly, and she exclaimed, “How could that be possible? How could I ever want to harm you? I’m only concerned about your anemia and poor nutrition, worried about how it might affect your college entrance exam!”
“Stop it! Don’t! Your family is too despicable!” Xu Mo sarcastically looked at her and chuckled, “I know what you all have been up to during this time. You found my school, cut off my living expenses, even involved the police to inquire about my whereabouts! I know what you’re planning! Xu Wanting, I won’t sit back and wait for it!”
Upon hearing this, Xu Wanting’s face turned pale, “Xiao Mo, it’s all because of Sister’s past mistakes, I didn’t know about all the porridge you used to make for me…”
“Stop with these excuses! I know what you want, very well! Trying to poison me, no way!” Xu Mo avoided her, attempting to leave.
Xu Wanting was taken aback, hastily reaching out to stop him, “Xiao Mo, please don’t leave. Just listen to me first!”
“Let go!” Xu Mo snapped in anger.
Xu Wanting urgently pleaded, “Please listen to me first, it was Sister’s fault before, not recognizing your good intentions! I made a mistake, Xiao Mo, I’m is only concerned about your health!”
“I don’t need your concern! Stop pretending to care, focus on yourselves instead!” Xu Mo shook off her hand, speaking coldly.
Seeing tears welling up in her eyes again, Xu Wanting said, “Xiao Mo, with your current health condition, can you handle the college entrance exam in a month?”
“I don’t need your worry. I’m perfectly fine! If there’s nothing else, you better leave now!” Xu Mo impatiently replied.
“Xiao Mo, how about I take you to my company? You’ve always wanted to see it, right? I’ll show you around!” Xu Wanting exclaimed urgently.
Xu Mo glanced at her, then chuckled, “Xu Wanting, your tricks never end! Even now, you still want to tease me, or have the security guard throw me out? I know how malicious you can be, so forget it!”
With that, he turned and walked away.
“Xiao Mo?” Xu Wanting was surprised.
This time, however, Xu Mo didn’t pause. He swiftly departed, not even sparing her a glance.
Seeing this, Xu Wanting’s eyes welled up with tears instantly.
She sniffled, feeling a surge of tears welling up, a mix of grievance and heartache.
She watched Xu Mo disappear around the corner of the street, feeling powerless as she walked back, holding the food container, and sat in the driver’s seat.
“Sis, I knew it would end up like this. Don’t be upset,” Xu Xuehui whispered from the back seat, her complexion slightly pale.
“I’m just worried he’s not getting proper nutrition, especially with the college entrance exam approaching!” Xu Wanting felt tears welling up in her eyes.
“Besides, he still remembers those things!”
Xu Xuehui sighed, “How could he forget so easily? He left home because of those things!”
“Xuehui, why don’t you apologize to him too?” Xu Wanting turned to look at her.
Upon hearing this, Xu Xuehui fell silent.
“I know what you’ve done! You might not see it as excessive, but I find it incredibly so! You wouldn’t even let him touch your sports car…” Xu Wanting stared at Xu Xuehui.
Xu Xuehui remained silent, feeling a deep discomfort within, unsure of how to handle the situation.
Previously, she had only seen Xu Mo as a disgrace, an embarrassment, to the extent that she was unwilling to acknowledge him as her brother. Even when her best friends teased him and bossed him around, she had never spoken up.
Reflecting on these four years, Xu Xuehui knew that her relationship with her brother, Xu Mo, was far more complex than just a few slaps.
During Xu Mo’s time at the Xu household, he appeared as humble as dust. Even when he was slapped, he would still smile and greet them, saying it was no big deal…
Xu Mo remembered these humiliations, and it was only natural for him to do so!
Back then, no one in the Xu family treated him as a human being!
But how could she apologize now?
