Delayed Affection is Cheaper than Grass; Why Cry When I Depart? Chapter 219

Chapter 219: What Have You Twisted Yourself Into?

Xu Deming prided himself on understanding Xie Bingyan very well—she was a lady of a prestigious family, cold, arrogant, stubborn, sharp-tongued, and never one to admit defeat.

Although her personality was very strong-willed, when it came to her children, she was still very responsible.

Because of the success of Xu Wanting, Xu Xuehui, and others, Xu Deming always believed that she was a qualified mother, and no matter what, she would never harm her own children.

However, today’s events shattered his perception of Xie Bingyan.

She really did it!

She really took that cruel step!

“Xu Deming, are you mute?” Xie Bingyan continued to glare at him angrily, her eyebrows raised as she saw Xu Deming remaining silent.

But in the next moment, Xu Deming suddenly rushed forward.

With a loud “slap,” he struck Xie Bingyan across the face.

Xie Bingyan was stunned, unable to react immediately. But Xu Deming grabbed the other side of her face and continued to slap her.

“Slap! Slap!”

The two consecutive slaps almost instantly left Xie Bingyan in a daze.

When she finally realized what had happened, her eyes widened in fury. “Ah—!” She couldn’t believe that Xu Deming had dared to hit her, and she swung her hand toward him in retaliation.

Seeing this, Xu Deming’s anger flared up as well. He quickly grabbed her wrists and continued slapping her across the face.

“Slap! Slap! Slap!” A few more harsh blows followed.

This time, Xu Deming didn’t hold back, leaving visible handprints on Xie Bingyan’s face.

Already filled with anger and resentment toward Xu Deming, Xie Bingyan’s rage exploded when she realized he had actually hit her. She couldn’t hold back any longer and lunged at Xu Deming, clawing at his head, face, and arms, her movements wild and frenzied. Xu Deming’s arms were soon scratched up.

“What are you doing—”

The two quickly became entangled in a physical struggle, neither willing to back down. During the struggle, Xie Bingyan suddenly grabbed something nearby and swung it at Xu Deming’s head.

With a loud “bang,” Xu Deming was momentarily dazed from the blow, but his anger surged. He swung his fist at Xie Bingyan’s face, landing two solid punches that left her bruised and swollen.

Still not satisfied, Xu Deming grabbed a few books from the nearby table and slammed them down on Xie Bingyan’s head with all his might.

Xie Bingyan, seeing this, let out a furious scream, grabbed a glass that had fallen to the floor, and hurled it at Xu Deming. The glass shattered on impact, scattering shards across the floor.

“You dare hit me! You dare hit me!” Xie Bingyan hissed through tears, her voice trembling with a mixture of fury and despair. She lunged at Xu Deming again, but he grabbed her by the hair, dragging her out of the corner. He threw another punch, landing it hard on her face.

This punch left her right cheek severely swollen, the force behind it evident. Despite the intense pain and the swelling, Xie Bingyan refused to back down. She grabbed whatever she could find on the coffee table and struck Xu Deming with it, determined to fight back.

The sounds of shattering glass echoed through the room as the table was overturned, books and collectibles from the shelves tumbling to the floor.

“Do you dare? Do you still dare?” Xu Deming roared, gripping Xie Bingyan’s hair tightly, his eyes bloodshot and filled with madness. His arm and right cheek were bleeding profusely from the scratches inflicted by Xie Bingyan’s sharp nails.

Despite the chaos, Xie Bingyan wasn’t backing down. She grabbed a kettle and tried to smash it into Xu Deming’s face, breathing heavily, her voice filled with rage, “Xu Deming, how dare you hit me! I’ll tear you apart—”

Seeing her defiance, Xu Deming struck her across the face again, and the two quickly descended into another round of violent struggle. The wardrobe was overturned, the table was upended, and the bookshelves began to collapse, leaving the room in utter disarray.

“Mom!”

“Dad, stop it!”

Xu Shuying pounded on the door from outside, but the two inside paid no attention, locked in a vicious struggle that left both of them wounded.

“Xie Bingyan, I underestimated you! I underestimated your cruelty and your wickedness! What kind of demon is lurking in your twisted heart to make you this insane?” Xu Deming shouted, his voice filled with pain and fury.

“Xu Deming, you’ll die a miserable death!” Xie Bingyan screamed back, her voice trembling with hatred.

“Even if… even if this is my fault, has it always been just my fault? All these years, have you done nothing wrong? You wanted children, you didn’t want to lose to others, fine, so you wanted more children! There was no boy, fine, so you wanted a boy! From the beginning, you thought I was forcing you, that it was the Xu family pushing you to have more, but wasn’t that what you wanted yourself?”

“Was it me forcing you?” Xu Deming’s voice cracked as he struggled to understand the depth of her resentment.

“Xu Deming, I’ll strangle you! I swear I’ll strangle you!” Xie Bingyan shrieked, her rage uncontainable as she fought with every ounce of strength she had left.

Xie Bingyan screamed wildly, trying to lunge at him again.

“You’ve been at odds with me for ages! Always trying to control everything, terrified that things might slip out of your grasp! But let me tell you, Xie Bingyan, you can’t control anyone! You have no power over anyone!” Xu Deming roared, his fury reaching its peak as he suddenly threw a heavy punch at her face.

“Ah!” The punch was forceful, knocking Xie Bingyan to the ground. Xu Deming seized the opportunity to pin her down, his hands wrapping around her neck.

“I can understand that you hate me! But you shouldn’t have poisoned him! You shouldn’t have used palladium! That’s palladium, a heavy metal—you know how dangerous it is, don’t you? You wanted Xu Mo to suffer a fate worse than death, and you wanted me to suffer the same way!” Xu Deming’s eyes were wild with rage as he tightened his grip on her throat.

“Tell me, what did he ever do to you? What did he do to make you despise him so much that you’d go to such lengths?”

“You want to strangle me? I’ll strangle you first!” Xie Bingyan gasped, her voice filled with fury as she clawed at Xu Deming’s face, her hands desperately trying to break free from his grip. But the more she struggled, the tighter Xu Deming squeezed, his rage pushing him to the brink of madness.

“Ugh… cough, cough…” Xie Bingyan struggled to breathe, yet she refused to give in, her fingers digging into Xu Deming’s arms as she fought back.

Xu Deming was beyond reason at this point, consumed by the desire to make her submit. However, just then, there was a loud crash as someone broke down the door and rushed into the room.

“Dad! Mom!” Xu Shuying and Xu Xuehui shouted as they entered, horrified by the scene before them. They quickly ran over to pull Xu Deming away.

“Dad, let go! What are you doing? Please, let go!” Xu Shuying cried, her voice filled with panic as she tugged at his arms.

Realizing what he was doing, Xu Deming finally loosened his grip, releasing Xie Bingyan.

“No one is as vicious as you! No one is as cruel! Xie Bingyan, to poison your own son—what else are you capable of?” Xu Deming’s voice was filled with rage and disbelief. “What have you twisted yourself into?”

He wanted to lunge at Xie Bingyan again, his eyes wild with fury, but Xu Xuehui quickly held him back, leaving him panting heavily, his gaze still burning with anger.

Xie Bingyan, her head already bleeding from the struggle, was enraged. She had thought Xu Deming might actually strangle her to death. Now, freed from his grip, her fury boiled over, and she grabbed a nearby water jug, ready to attack him again.

“Mom, stop! Please, stop!” Xu Shuying cried out, rushing to block her mother, tears streaming down her face. “Mom, what are you doing? Stop!”

Despite being held back, Xie Bingyan was still furious, and she hurled the water jug towards Xu Deming. However, the jug missed him and instead struck Xu Xuehui.

“It’s over! It’s all over!” Xu Shuying wailed, her voice breaking as she pleaded for peace. “Please, stop fighting! Please!”
