Chapter 228: “I Know You, Third daughter! I Know You Best…”

Xu Manni happened to be in Xiahai City on business when she heard the news that Xie Bingyan had fainted. She hurriedly rushed to the hospital.

When she saw Xie Bingyan at the hospital, she was immediately shocked. Xie Bingyan looked weak and worn out, her entire appearance had aged significantly, and her hair was almost completely white.

The group chat had been very quiet these days, completely silent with no one speaking. Due to her busy schedule, Xu Manni hadn’t had time to return to the capital city and had been working in Xiahai City.

So, she wasn’t very informed about what had happened in the capital.

Seeing Xie Bingyan in such a state, she quickly called Xu Xuehui to inquire. Upon hearing the news, Xu Xuehui said firmly, “It’s nothing! Nothing happened!”

Seeing her second sister’s calm demeanor, Xu Manni wanted to scold her, but Xu Xuehui had already hung up the phone.

She hurriedly called Xu Shuying instead.

“Damn it, the matter was exposed, and Dad found out. He’s been hitting her for days and nights! She hasn’t eaten much for several days. You’re in Xiahai City, so take care of her and make sure she eats something! I won’t say more about the rest!” Xu Shuying also hung up the phone.

“Fifth Sister!” Xu Manni gritted her teeth, realizing she had no choice but to return and take care of Xie Bingyan.

“I didn’t poison her! I didn’t poison her…” Xie Bingyan had lost consciousness, but she was muttering intermittently, causing Xu Manni to freeze in place.

“Poison? What poison?” Xu Manni was slightly surprised.

“Is it you who did it?”

Xie Bingyan seemed to see Xu Manni and suddenly grabbed her, struggling to get up.

“What are you saying, Mom?” Xu Manni was astonished and hadn’t reacted yet.

But Xie Bingyan suddenly started screaming frantically and abruptly grabbed Xu Manni by the neck: “It’s you who did it, Third daughter, it’s you who did it, I know it’s you, right?”

Xu Manni was shocked and struggled desperately: “Mom, what are you doing? Let go of me, woo…”

“I’ll strangle you…” Xie Bingyan seemed to have lost her sanity, her face filled with madness, her eyes bloodshot and murderous.

Her strength suddenly became immense as she tightly gripped Xu Manni’s neck, seemingly trying to strangle her to death.

Xu Manni struggled violently but couldn’t break free. Terrified, she felt her breathing becoming increasingly difficult and was on the verge of suffocating: “Mom, cough, cough, let… let go of me!”

“I’ll strangle you!” Xie Bingyan roared, her strength seeming to increase.

“Nurse! Nurse…” Xu Manni suddenly felt the threat of death and couldn’t push Xie Bingyan away. She could only desperately call for a nurse, her vision starting to go white.

Fortunately, a nurse nearby rushed over and pulled Xie Bingyan away: “What’s going on? What’s happening?”

“Third Daughter, it’s you who poisoned her, I know it’s you. You hate him the most, you hate him the most, I’ll strangle you…”

“Let go!” The nurse was alarmed and, seeing that Xu Manni was about to be strangled, quickly pried Xie Bingyan’s hands away.

Xu Manni quickly freed herself, gasping for air and retreating a few steps. She stared at Xie Bingyan with a pale face, still in shock.

“Third Daughter, what have you done!” Xie Bingyan, still not willing to let go of Xu Manni, continued to scream hysterically, her eyes filled with madness.

“What happened?” The nurse, seeing Xie Bingyan so agitated, urgently asked.

Just before, Xie Bingyan, being very weak, was receiving a glucose drip. During her struggle, the needle had come out, which made the nurse wince in sympathy.

“Mom, what on earth are you doing? I—I’m Xu Manni! What are you doing?” Xu Manni said, feeling wronged and crying with tears welling up in her eyes.

“I know you, Third daughter, I’ve always known!” Xie Bingyan looked at Xu Manni with wild eyes, as if she wanted to devour her: “You wanted to get rid of him. You framed him, saying his hands were unclean, it was all you!”

“Wuwu, Mom, what are you talking about? Why are you trying to strangle me?” Xu Manni, feeling extremely wronged and in tears, dared not approach Xie Bingyan.

“You still want to poison him! You want to… you want to…”

Xie Bingyan seemed about to say more but suddenly fainted again, appearing too exhausted: “I didn’t poison him, I… I didn’t… that’s… my child!”

Xu Manni was terrified and crying, not understanding what was happening.

Seeing that Xie Bingyan had fainted, she hurriedly moved closer, carefully checked, and quickly asked the nurse to take care of Xie Bingyan. She then called Xu Shuying again.

“Fifth Sister? What on earth happened at home? Wuwu, just now, Mom tried to strangle me!” Xu Manni asked with a lingering fear, gritting her teeth.

Xu Shuying was a bit surprised by this but, after a moment, said, “The news about Mom poisoning Xu Mo has been exposed! Dad already knows and had a huge fight with her!”

“Poison? What poison?” Xu Manni was startled.

“It happened five or six years ago. She poisoned Xu Mo with heavy metal palladium, trying to kill him! This metal, once it enters the body, can destroy the brain and lungs, turning someone into a living corpse or a vegetative state dependent on a respirator! It’s worse than death!” Xu Shuying explained.

“Then, what does this mean for Mom?” Xu Manni asked, shocked.

“Why did she just strangle you? Do you know?” Xu Shuying asked, clearly distressed.

“I—I don’t know! When did this happen? When Xu Mo was still in our home?”

“Yes!” Xu Shuying confirmed.

Xu Manni’s hands trembled, nearly dropping her phone.

She had no idea such things had happened.

Xu Manni wondered why Xie Bingyan kept insisting she hadn’t done anything. Did Xie Bingyan think it was Xu Manni who did it?

Xu Manni didn’t know, and a strong sense of panic suddenly arose in her heart.

“I’ll Hang up!”

Xu Shuying didn’t want to continue the call and, feeling down, hung up again.

Xu Manni didn’t know what to do, so she could only watch over Xie Bingyan and keep her distance while taking care of her.

However, this time, Xie Bingyan didn’t stay unconscious for long; she only slept for a short while before groggily opening her eyes.

Xu Manni, feeling exhausted herself, was lying down and sleeping not far away.

When Xie Bingyan saw Xu Manni nearby, her expression froze. She looked around, found a hanging drip tube, and slowly walked toward Xu Manni with it.

“Mom, what are you doing?” Xu Manni heard the noise and quickly looked up.

Seeing Xie Bingyan holding the drip tube, Xu Manni was shocked.

“I’ll strangle you!” Xie Bingyan shouted angrily, wrapping the drip tube around Xu Manni’s neck.

Xu Manni was terrified and quickly struggled free, crying, “Mom, are you crazy? What are you trying to do? I didn’t do it, it wasn’t me!”

“I know you, Third daughter! I know you best…” Xie Bingyan, seeing Xu Manni avoid her, was unable to act but glared at her with intense hatred, as if she wanted to devour her.

Xu Manni felt deeply wronged and cried, “I didn’t do it! It has nothing to do with me. Isn’t it something you did yourself?”

“I…” Xie Bingyan’s expression faltered as she looked at the drip tube in her hand and suddenly stopped moving.
