A series of blows has caused Xie Bingyan’s mental breakdown. These days, her mind constantly replays events from many years ago, where she committed numerous wrongs. Xu Junzhe’s accusations about her poisoning him were not unfounded; she truly wished for him to suffer unbearably.
They say blood is thicker than water, but in her case, it’s the cruelest reality—she has killed her adopted son with her own hands, and the most brutal act harming one’s own flesh and blood.
Xu Mo will never forgive her; she knows that for certain. Xie Bingyan can no longer face this reality.
Holding some photos in her hand, she is reluctant to let them go. However, as she walks, the pressure on her right hand causes her to tear the photos, which fall to the ground. These photos are of the car accident, with Xu Mo present at the scene. Feeling the photos shred in her hands, she pauses, glances back, her heart turned to ashes.
She ignores the torn photos and continues forward, soon arriving at a tall building next to the hospital.
—
Meanwhile, Xu Shuying discovers that Xie Bingyan is missing.
She had just returned with some water when she suddenly noticed Xie Bingyan was missing. Startled, she quickly inquired and discovered that Xie Bingyan had gone upstairs.
Panicked, Xu Shuying rushed up only to find no trace of Xie Bingyan. Looking down, she realized Xie Bingyan was already below the hospital.
In an instant, the area around the hospital descended into chaos. Numerous people were shouting, and the blare of fire trucks’ sirens filled the air.
Xu Shuying frantically rushed down, ignoring everything in her path, and soon reached the scene.
Her face was ashen when she saw Xie Bingyan standing on the edge of the building.
“Mom, what are you doing? Don’t scare me! Come back!” Xu Shuying shouted desperately, her voice filled with panic.
Xie Bingyan glanced back at her, her eyes empty, then looked down at the ground with a heart full of despair.
The fire brigade had arrived, setting up air cushions and shouting up at her.
Xie Bingyan couldn’t hear what they were shouting due to the strong wind at the top, which tangled her hair.
“Mom, come back! Don’t scare me, please come back!” Xu Shuying continued to shout.
Xie Bingyan glanced back at her, her expression suddenly calm. She spoke slowly, “Fifth, in a few days, go and pick up your eldest sister. She should come home.”
“Mom—” Xu Shuying cried out instantly, “Why are you doing this?”
“Mom made mistakes and will face the consequences herself! Fifth, in a few days, go to the detention center to see Fourth. Tell her the news from Mom, and say that this is the path Mom chose, and it has nothing to do with anyone else. Tell her not to hate Xu Mo, not to hate anyone!”
Xie Bingyan continued speaking.
“Mom, come back! Please, come down!” Xu Shuying cried and begged.
Xie Bingyan suddenly looked up and smiled, but her smile was mixed with tears. “Mom used to be sorry for you too! Always pushing you to study, always forcing you to go to those tutoring classes you didn’t like! Mom just wanted you to be excellent, to prove that Mom’s choices weren’t wrong! Mom was just thinking of herself! For vanity’s sake!”
“Mom…”
“No matter if it’s your elder sister or your second sister, it’s the same! Mom just wanted to show them that Mom was right!” Xie Bingyan said through her tears and smiles.
She looked up and continued, “But today, Mom was wrong, completely wrong! Everything Mom did was wrong from the start! He proved to Mom that even without Mom’s help, he could become incredibly outstanding!”
“Mom, come back!” Xu Shuying dared not get closer and urgently knelt down, crying out.
“Fifth, don’t cry! Even though Mom was wrong, Mom isn’t crying! I hope you can pass a message for me, pass it to Xu Mo!” Xie Bingyan sniffed and tried to steady her voice before continuing, “Actually, over the years, Mom was once proud in her heart!”
“Please, come back! Come back now!” Xu Shuying shouted.
Xie Bingyan took a deep breath, turned to Xu Shuying, and smiled, “Don’t blame Mom for being strict with you before. Mom only wanted not to lose to anyone! You go back now! Fifth, good child, go back! Don’t hate anyone, and tell Third not to hate Xu Mo. This was Mom’s own choice…”
“noooo!” Xu Shuying cried out loudly.
Suddenly, several people rushed out from the side. They were firefighters, their faces changing drastically as they rushed towards Xie Bingyan.
But Xie Bingyan glanced at them with a look of resolute determination and, without hesitation, leaped off the edge.
“Mom…” Xu Shuying screamed in tears, almost paralyzed with fear, her legs turning to jelly.
This was the fifteenth floor!
—
“Do you want to reclaim everything?”
“Do you want revenge?”
“Do you want to get back the investment money?”
“All of it, including past glory and status, you can regain it all!”
“Yes, that’s right! It was Xie Bingyan who stabbed you!”
Voices echoed around Xu Junzhe’s ears. He opened his eyes and glanced around, trying to struggle and get up. However, a sharp pain in his lower abdomen made him stop his movements.
“We’ve investigated. Right now, Xu Deming is frantically searching for you! Xu Deming once suspected your identity, but your mother probably didn’t tell you about it! We went abroad to find her and obtained some interesting information!” The speaker addressed him with a mocking tone, clearly enjoying the situation.
Xu Junzhe immediately looked up. “You went to find them?”
“Of course! We needed to find some information! There’s some information you definitely didn’t expect!” The man in a white shirt and crew cut said with a smile, handing Xu Junzhe a document. “Years ago, Xu Deming suspected your identity and had a paternity test done, which showed that you are related to Xu Deming by blood! Quite interesting!”
Xu Junzhe glanced at it, furrowing his brow. “What do you want?”
“Clearly, we want everything!” The man in the white shirt continued with a smile, revealing dimples.
“Everything? What do you mean by everything?” Xu Junzhe was confused.
“Essentially, everything related to the Xu family! Everything of Xu Deming’s, everything of Xu Mo’s—everything! And you are the key to it all!” The man in the white shirt and crew cut grinned.
“I still don’t understand. I’ve already lost my rightful status, and Xie Bingyan knows everything!” Xu Junzhe said, panicked.
“What Xie Bingyan knows is irrelevant. What matters is what Xu Deming understands! No matter what, Xu Deming will insist!” The man in the white shirt said confidently. “If you agree, we will help you regain Fengxiang Jewelry and resolve the money laundering threats! Once this storm passes, you can reappear in the public eye with a clear conscience!”
Xu Junzhe was stunned.
“We predict that Xu Mo won’t report the money laundering! Because it involves Xu Deming and Xu Wanting! As long as Xu Mo doesn’t expose it, you’re not at any risk! Even if Xie Bingyan wanted to kill you, it wouldn’t be illegal! Xie Bingyan has no evidence proving that you intended to kill her!”
“So, what this means is that, for now, apart from Xie Bingyan, no one else can judge your crimes! The poisoning incident happened many years ago; there’s no evidence left! Moreover, Xu Mo is still alive, and nothing significant has happened!”
“So, what will you do?”
Xu Junzhe’s eyes lit up instantly!
That’s right!
Apart from the money laundering issue, Xu Junzhe himself had no other crimes. As for the money laundering, he was only partially implicated, with the greater guilt lying with Xu Deming.
Xu Deming was the one who orchestrated the money laundering!
As for secretly manipulating Xu Pandi and Xu Wanting, in the eyes of the police, it could actually be seen as an influence!
