Xu Junzhe received photos of Gao Cai’er meeting with Xu Mo.
In the photos, Gao Cai’er was dressed up beautifully, wearing a spaghetti strap long dress. Her skin was fair, her face was pretty, and with the breeze gently blowing, she looked as beautiful as a celestial being.
Her eyes seemed to sparkle with starlight—an expression Gao Cai’er had never shown in front of him.
Gao Cai’er always acted superior towards him…
In that instant, Xu Junzhe was nearly driven mad with anger.
He clenched the photos tightly, his nails almost digging into the flesh of his palm.
Back then, he spent a lot of effort pursuing Gao Cai’er. At first, Gao Cai’er didn’t like him at all. It was only after he revealed his family background that Gao Cai’er agreed to date him.
He was deeply in love with Gao Cai’er and once wanted to give everything for her. Previously, Xie Bingyan and Xu Xuehui had opposed him marrying Gao Cai’er, but later, seeing how sweet Gao Cai’er was, the Xu family agreed.
Little did he know that Gao Cai’er had already been secretly colluding with Xu Mo.
“Wh-where are these photos from?” Xu Junzhe looked up, staring at Chen Anxiong, his breathing heavy, as if he were about to breathe fire.
“Tsinghua University! Two years ago, they were probably both in graduate school! They look very close, and they’ve likely met more than just once or twice!” Chen Anxiong saw the change in Xu Junzhe’s expression and couldn’t help feeling smug.
Xu Junzhe’s face darkened.
He could tolerate anything, but this was the one thing he couldn’t endure—this was his wife!
To marry her, Xu Junzhe had once resisted his family and spent countless efforts. And yet, she had already betrayed him and fallen into Xu Mo’s arms!
Seeing this, Chen Anxiong smiled and said, “It’s clear they do have a certain relationship! Your problem should be minimal now; you can easily turn things from light to dark.”
“I know what to do!” Xu Junzhe’s face was full of gloom. “Make sure the contract is signed, and remember to transfer the funds into my account as soon as possible!”
“Don’t worry!” Chen Anxiong nodded, very satisfied with Xu Junzhe’s reaction.
He was becoming increasingly interested in the affairs of the Xu family. If possible, it would be best if the two of them tore each other apart.
Only when they have fought to a certain extent will Xu Xuehui and Xu Manni possibly come to him for help. At that time, enjoying the blessings of having them both is not out of the question.
Xu Junzhe didn’t want to talk to him any further; he took the photos and turned to leave.
He knew very well that it was nearly impossible to outcompete Xu Mo in business; he needed other means!
He wanted him dead!
A deep malice surged in Xu Junzhe’s heart!
…
Xie Zhen brought two elderly people over, chattering on about various things.
It was their first time coming here!
Both of the elderly had poor health and difficulty moving around; they needed to use walking sticks to get around. It was said that they had been living abroad for the past few years and had only recently returned to the country to recuperate.
The Xie family also had a younger daughter who had emigrated abroad.
What they talked about was mostly about how Xie Bingyan used to be, how the Xie family was, how the Xu family was, and so on. Then they started talking about Xie Bingyan’s current situation.
Xu Mo understood their intention—it was simply to persuade him to let go of everything, return home, and have certain people back him up.
If it were ten years ago, Xu Mo might have needed this, but now, he no longer did.
These two elders were nothing more than relics of the past!
“I know what you’re trying to say! But what I want to say is that Xie Bingyan’s current situation is entirely of her own making! Even if she died once, or even again, it wouldn’t make much difference to me! Isn’t she still alive now?” Xu Mo said calmly.
“And the previous speculation by that Colonel Xie was correct! I really did want her dead! When Xu Junzhe wanted to kill her back then, I was even tempted to hand him the knife! The fact that she’s still alive now is truly a matter of luck!”
“Don’t talk to me about forgiveness; it sounds grating! Back then, when Xu Junzhe dared to do that, who gave him the guts? Wasn’t it them? You say they have no responsibility? If you want me to forgive her, fine—let her go and take out Xu Junzhe, then maybe I’ll consider it!”
“Xu Mo…” Xie Zhen frowned.
“You don’t need to say any more! I understand what you’re trying to convey! As long as Xu Junzhe is still alive, this matter will never be resolved! She must personally cut off Xu Junzhe’s head before I can even consider it!”
Upon hearing this, Xie Zhen and the old master Xu both sighed.
“Did Xie Bingyan really… try to kill Xu Junzhe before?” Xie Zhen asked.
“Didn’t he survive? It seems she didn’t truly kill him, probably just tried to scare him! I guess she couldn’t bring herself to do it—after all, he’s the son she raised for decades!”
A trace of a mocking smile appeared at the corner of Xu Mo’s mouth. “So now you have the outcome! You want a solution? I’ve given you one! You want a result? I’ve provided that too!”
“Xu Mo, killing someone is illegal!” Xie Zhen said.
“So you do know it’s illegal!” Xu Mo retorted with a mocking expression. “If I were you, I’d go arrest Xu Junzhe right now—he’s definitely hiding somewhere!”
“Where’s the evidence that he poisoned someone? Do you have it? If you do, I’ll arrest him immediately!” Xie Zhen responded.
“That evidence no longer exists! But Colonel Xie, do you really need evidence to arrest someone? Last year, when you arrested me, you certainly didn’t care about evidence!” Xu Mo sneered.
Xie Zhen was immediately embarrassed and scratched his head awkwardly. “That was only because…”
“I don’t care what your reasons were! The only outcome I want now is either Xie Bingyan dies, or Xu Junzhe dies! If someone else kills Xu Junzhe, I won’t be satisfied—I want her to kill him! If she really does it, then I might consider it!” Xu Mo said, then suddenly remembered something. “Oh, and there’s one more—Xu Manni!”
“Colonel Xie, you can’t possibly overlook this one, right?”
Xu Mo looked at Xie Zhen again.
Xie Zhen sighed, “Tomorrow, I’ll bring Xu Manni over to you! You can deal with her however you want! If you want to beat her, then beat her!”
“This isn’t just about me beating her anymore!” Xu Mo sneered. “But fine, bring her here! I’d like to see how she tries to stir things up!”
Xie Zhen nodded but added, “I hope you’ll spare her life, and if possible, preserve her career as well! The rest, I’ll relay to Xie Bingyan!”
“Let’s talk after Xie Bingyan takes care of Xu Junzhe! For now, I’m extremely dissatisfied that he’s still alive!” Xu Mo began to usher them out.
Old Master Xu and Madam Zhao, hearing this, didn’t know what to say and could only shake their heads and sigh as they left the office.
When they exited the building and stepped outside…
Old Master Xu suddenly said to Xie Zhen, “Second, see if you can have Xu Junzhe arrested! We really do need to give him an explanation for what happened back then!”
“This…” Xie Zhen thought for a moment and then nodded, “That can be done! But fulfilling Xu Mo’s demands will be difficult for us.”
“Just arrest him first! From what you’ve said, Xu Junzhe is indeed devious and ruthless! He needs to be severely taught a lesson!”
“Alright!” A sharp glint appeared in Xie Zhen’s eyes.
…
Fengxiang Jewelry had already been sold, leaving Xu Deming deeply shaken, unable to prevent it.
He couldn’t find Xu Junzhe either, so he returned to the hospital, dejected.
Xu Wanting, Xu Xuehui, and the others were all there, along with Xu Shuying and Xu Manni.
When the sisters saw him coming, they were momentarily stunned and then asked him about Xu Junzhe. Upon hearing this, Xu Deming could only shake his head.
Xu Xuehui thought for a moment and then suddenly asked, “Dad, is Junzhe really… your biological son?”
Xu Deming froze and looked up, only to see Xu Wanting, Xu Shuying, and the others all staring at him, waiting for his answer.
At that moment, Xu Deming realized he could no longer hide the truth. After a moment of hesitation, he steeled himself and said, “Don’t let your mother know about this! It happened a long time ago, and I didn’t know at first either…”
