Xu Deming would have to go to work later; he had been absent for several days and needed to return to handle his tasks.
Xu Shuying was in the same situation.
The two remained silent, continuing to watch television, where there were also reports about shared bicycles.
“Dad, Sister Shuying, why are you up so early?”
As they watched, a voice chimed in. Xu Shuying turned to see Xu Junzhe rubbing his eyes as he walked out, still looking somewhat groggy.
“Why don’t you go back to sleep for a while? There’s nothing urgent to do anyways!” Xu Deming suggested.
“I’m not going to sleep anymore. I’m worried about Mom and want to check on her!” Xu Junzhe replied, walking over to the dining table. “Sister Shuying, can I have one of these pastries?”
With that, he picked up a piece of red bean pastry from Xu Shuying’s plate and started eating.
Xu Shuying glanced at him but didn’t stop him, continuing to stare at the television.
“Sister Shuying, why hasn’t Second Sister come down yet?” Xu Junzhe remembered that Xu Wanting was also at home.
“She stayed up very late last night and probably can’t get up this morning,” Xu Shuying replied.
“Second Sister should take better care of herself. She’s been taking care of us these past few days!” Xu Junzhe expressed his concern.
Xu Shuying nodded in agreement.
Seeing her silent, Xu Junzhe sat down to have breakfast together. Zhao Ma hurriedly served him the breakfast he wanted.
Xu Junzhe picked up a red bean pastry and handed it to Xu Shuying. “Sister Shuying, this is for you…”
But before he could finish, he suddenly saw something on the television, his expression freezing as he stared at the screen.
On the television screen, various images flashed, including yellow bicycles, conference videos, and the logo of Little Monster Bike.
Finally, several photos and interview videos of Xu Mo appeared in succession.
Xu Deming and Xu Shuying were watching the television intently, seemingly enjoying the content, while Xu Junzhe’s expression instantly stiffened.
“Our philosophy is to promote resource sharing. This is our gift to the planet, allowing cycling to transform cities…”
The content covered many topics, discussing issues such as user deposits and innovative financial strategies.
Xu Mo appeared on the screen once again, speaking confidently.
The entire living room fell into a deep silence, with not even a pin drop audible.
Xu Deming didn’t speak, Xu Shuying remained silent, and Xu Junzhe stayed quiet as well. The air grew heavier, and a hint of fierce gloom flickered in his eyes.
“Junzhe, you should learn from Xu Mo in the future! He’s doing quite well out there!” Xu Deming suddenly spoke up.
Xu Junzhe was startled, stiffening up hastily. “Yes… But… Dad, is that Brother Mo?”
“Indeed! It’s him! This unfilial son, he’s been up to a lot while we’re away from Xiahai City! His project is called the bike-sharing project, and it’s quite popular out there! I’ll go to the company later to check on this project!” Xu Deming spoke casually.
Xu Junzhe almost choked, hastily responding, “I, I understand!”
“But for now, focus on your studies! Education is more important than starting a business at the moment! Xu Mo should also focus on his studies, that little rascal!” Xu Deming continued.
“Dad, Sis, I’m done eating. You go ahead and eat!” Xu Junzhe couldn’t sit still any longer, immediately standing up and heading towards his room.
Xu Deming and Xu Shuying glanced at him, furrowing their brows, but they didn’t stop him.
They had almost finished eating as well and needed to go to work.
“Shuying, if you have time this afternoon, go talk to Xu Mo and ask him to come home for a visit! I need to discuss some matters with him and clarify things!” Xu Deming remembered something as he was leaving and asked Xu Shuying.
Xu Shuying responded, “Dad! Have you forgotten? Xu Mo has no intention of coming back home at all!”
“You go and talk to him! I’ve already allowed him to come back. His project is quite complicated, mishandling it could lead to trouble. We need to make sure of things first!” Xu Deming seemed to have regained his composure.
“Allowed?” Xu Shuying looked at Xu Deming in disbelief.
Xu Deming responded coldly, “He shouldn’t think he had grown wings and can fly solo now! If he messes up, it will bring trouble to our Xu family. You go and talk to him! Just tell him these words came from me!”
With that, Xu Deming picked up his briefcase and walked away.
Seeing him leave, Xu Shuying felt at a loss. She never expected Xu Deming to say such things. Could he really think that Xu Mo coming home would solve everything?
Meanwhile, elsewhere!
Xu Junzhe never expected such a turn of events!
His breath quickened as he hurried back to his room and opened his computer. He searched through it swiftly, his eyes widening with each discovery.
He scrolled through the information, not missing a single detail, eager to understand the current situation as quickly as possible.
Ever since the incident when Xu Mo had brandished a knife at him near the back entrance of No. 27 High School, Xu Junzhe had been on high alert. Xu Mo’s reaction this time was exceptionally unusual to him.
But upon further reflection, Xu Junzhe realized that Xu Mo was just a top scholar. Even without this title, he couldn’t be replaced.
Xu Junzhe was well aware of his own strengths, which Xu Mo couldn’t shake. As long as he behaved obediently enough to please Xie Bingyan and Xu Deming, he wouldn’t face any problems at home.
Although Xu Mo’s sudden departure surprised him, Xu Junzhe was actually quite pleased, especially when he heard Xu Mo’s disgusting remarks and saw him break ties with Xu Deming and Xie Bingyan. It was like music to his ears.
The more it was like this, the more Xu Junzhe needed to show how sensible, filial, and outstanding he was. He needed to contrast himself from him in front of Xu Deming and Xie Bingyan to prove that Xu Mo was far inferior to him.
However, just now, things overturned his imagination.
He never imagined that after going out for a few days and then catching a cold for a few days, Xu Mo would appear on TV.
Xu Deming and Xu Shuying had already seen it, and they seemed to have known all about it. This moment filled Xu Junzhe with a strong sense of crisis.
“Green, sharing? Sharing bikes? Web-based sharing economy?”
Several terms popped up from the website, accompanied by photos of Xu Mo moving bicycles. Xu Junzhe glanced at them, almost choking.
“Damn it! How could something like this happen? When did this happen? That useless… How could he?”
Xu Junzhe was unwilling to believe such a thing.
In his mind, Xu Mo was almost indistinguishable from being useless.
At home, he was always meek, too timid even to greet strangers, appearing extremely restrained and weak. How could he suddenly create such a large industry?
At home, he clearly didn’t even have a piece of clothing. Who could have given him the money to accomplish so much?
Could it be Second Sister?
Xu Junzhe also knew that Second Elder Sister had been acting strangely lately. She often had red eyes, unlike her usual self.
A few days ago, Xu Junzhe thought it was because she was too busy with work and hadn’t rested well, but now it seemed that wasn’t the case.
“How many people else know about this? Does Xu Xuehui, Xu Manni know? What about Xu Pandi and Xu Yuanchan?”
“Why is everyone keeping things from me?”
Xu Junzhe had already noticed that there were many things in the Xu family being kept from him.
For instance, discussions about Xu Mo’s matters. Most of the time, Xie Bingyan and Xu Wanting were unwilling to discuss them in front of him.
It seemed like they used to avoid upsetting him, deliberately avoiding him, but now, even with Xu Mo establishing such a large company, they still kept it from him, which deeply disturbed Xu Junzhe!
These matters shouldn’t have been kept from him in the first place. He had the right to know, only when informed, could he prepare himself properly.
However, now it seemed like he had missed out!
“Holding a knife, wanting to attack me! It’s clear, you know who your enemies are!” Xu Junzhe stared at Xu Mo’s photo, a hint of bitterness in his eyes. “But it’s a pity, you can’t change people’s perceptions. Not just me, but others also see you as nothing but trash!”
“You, are nothing but trash!”
With sinister thoughts in his mind, Xu Junzhe immediately took out his phone and dialed a number. “Hello! Uncle Zhang Hao, it’s me!”
