Chapter 76: Guess What She Did in These 18 Years?

Xu Mo and Tang Lei arrived earlier.

There were company matters to handle, requiring careful planning.

Xu Mo brought along some people to settle in.

Due to the rapid development of bike-sharing, Beijing hadn’t seen it yet, making them the first batch.

However, even so, they couldn’t randomly deploy and expand. Proper placement and development required adjustments.

He let Director Tang and Mr. Zhao take Tang Lei and Gu Huanxi to visit the Forbidden City and climb the Great Wall, exploring Beijing.

Xu Mo and Li Banzhuang stayed behind to handle company affairs.

“It looks like someone is already preparing in Beijing. We need to move quickly and occupy the city! Banzhuang, later you come with me to scout around. Let’s quickly assess the situation in Beijing!”

“Alright!”

After some initial planning, the two got busy, scouting and inspecting various locations. When they found suitable spots, they marked them out to prepare for placing the bikes later.

Currently, in Beijing, there was already a branch and a large warehouse. Inside the warehouse were 100,000 bikes, with another 100,000 on their way.

They estimated that within three days, they could deploy 200,000 bikes across Beijing.

This would propel their business into an epic expansion. If the plan goes smoothly, they could increase their user base by three to four hundred thousand within a month.

“Beijing is great. The streets are clean and wide, and there are plenty of places to place the bikes!”

“As long as it doesn’t affect the city’s appearance, most areas should be fine! We need to reduce extravagance and aim for precise deployment!”

After spending half a day touring the Forbidden City and climbing the Great Wall with Tang Lei and Gu Huanxi, along with the elderly Tang and Zhao, they returned to join the work. Xu Mo discussed with them and planned to gradually distribute the bikes according to the steps.

One day quickly passed, and early the next morning, Xu Mo and the others went to Tsinghua University for registration.

Today is the beginning of the school season, and Tsinghua University is bustling with people, lively and bustling.

Considering they needed to finish registration and then get back to work, Xu Mo and the others arrived early and promptly proceeded to handle their registration at Tsinghua University.

As the most prestigious educational institution in China, Tsinghua University was undoubtedly bustling and vibrant, rich with a strong cultural atmosphere.

The four of them entered the university campus, filled with excitement.

This was the alma mater they had all longed for.

Like many freshmen, some had arrived early, already lining up, with seniors coming over to assist them with their registration procedures.

The four of them quickly finished their registration.

Because they chose different majors, Xu Mo selected mechanical engineering and was assigned to the School of Mechanical Engineering, where he got a standard four-person dormitory room.

Since Xu Mo arrived early and the others hadn’t yet, he promptly arranged his belongings and went out to find Tang Lei, intending to explore the campus together.

Tsinghua University was vast, with many places they hadn’t seen yet. After Tang Lei finished organizing his things, he quickly joined Xu Mo outside.

Meanwhile,  Director Tang  and Old Mr. Zhao went with Gu Huanxi and Li Banzhuang. Gu Huanxi and Li Banzhuang would accompany them around the campus later on.

“Tsinghua University! The academic institution I’ve always dreamed of. We’ve finally arrived!” exclaimed Tang Lei.

“Tsinghua, It’s so big. Look, the Black Swan, and Tsinghua Garden!” Tang Lei was enthusiastic, exploring several places in succession and visibly excited.

Xu Mo, too, found a rare moment of leisure and pushed aside all his unpleasant thoughts, trying to relax as much as possible.

However, just as he began to unwind, he suddenly heard a few familiar voices not far away.

“This is Tsinghua Garden. Such beautiful lotus flowers, and there are black swans here too!”

“This is called Jingying, where the lake surface reflects like a mirror!”

“Many years since I last came to Tsinghua Garden, it still looks almost the same as before!” The last voice belonged to a man. Could it be anyone other than Xu Deming?

Approaching from a distance were Xu Deming, Xie Bingyan, Xu Wanting, Xu Manni, and Xu Junzhe.

The first to speak was Xie Bingyan.

Seeming nostalgic, she appeared delighted upon seeing Tsinghua Garden again, exclaiming in amazement.

“Let’s go!” Xu Mo said to Tang Lei with a grim expression.

“Xu Mo!” Xu Wanting seemed to notice him and hurriedly called out, running over to intercept him.

“Xu Mo, we know you’ve enrolled at Tsinghua University!” Xu Wanting quickly exclaimed, her face pale.

Xu Mo didn’t want to talk to her, his expression grim, walking past them.

“Xu Mo, where are you going? You see us and won’t even say hello?” Xu Deming also intercepted him, slightly displeased.

Xu Mo glanced at them and said, “You all are dead to me!”

Upon hearing this, Xu Deming frowned anxiously. “I know we’ve wronged you before, and I firmly disagree with you changing your residence registration. But other things, we can discuss properly! This time, we came specifically to find you!”

Xu Mo smirked sarcastically. “What else do you think we can talk about? Isn’t your family just trying to control me by holding onto my residency registration? Xu Deming, you won’t be able to control me!”

“How could you think that way? I just want to tell you, Xu family is your family, you should come home!” Xu Deming hastily replied.

“Come home? Come back to what home? Don’t be foolish, Xu Deming!” Xu Mo scoffed and brushed past him, shouting towards Xie Bingyan who was standing nearby, “Xie Bingyan, why don’t you tell him why you sought revenge on him? He still thinks everything in the Xu family is fine!”

Upon hearing this, Xie Bingyan’s face turned ashen, but she remained silent.

“Should I speak for you, Xie Bingyan? It’s all because of him, isn’t it? All because of Xu Deming, right?” Xu Mo suddenly laughed, then turned to look at Xu Deming. “Eighteen years ago, didn’t you have another mistress outside?”

Xu Deming was stunned, his eyes widening.

“To have a son, you spared no means!” Xu Mo chuckled. “But you still can’t compare to Xie Bingyan’s ruthlessness! The day she received the news, she abandoned me. Guess what she’s been doing for these eighteen years?”

Xu Deming’s face turned pale as he turned back, staring in disbelief at Xie Bingyan.

“Eighteen years ago, a mistress?”

“Don’t tell me it’s not true! It’s just a pity that you never got a son after all! Of course, Xie Bingyan used some means to ultimately drive that woman away from you! Truth will always come to light!” Xu Mo chuckled, but his laughter gradually turned icy.

“She thinks that by retaliating against me, she’s retaliating against you! Your Xu family wanted a son, so she discarded the son and doted on her adopted son! Well, Xu Junzhe…”

Xu Mo glanced at Xu Junzhe, his smile taunting. “Guess what your situation is now? Do you think Xie Bingyan really cares for you? Hah! She’s just putting on a show for Xu Deming! She’s just proving to Xu Deming that she can raise a son!”

Xu Deming’s face went deathly pale upon hearing this, his breath quickening as he stared at Xie Bingyan in disbelief.

Suddenly, his throat seemed to constrict, rendering him unable to speak. His right hand trembled as he pointed at Xie Bingyan, his finger shaking slightly.

Xie Bingyan, exposed, turned pale but looked at Xu Deming with a relieved expression. “Yes! What he said is true! Xu Deming, you deserve a miserable end!”

“It was me! It was all my fault!” Xu Deming’s body trembled, swaying as if about to collapse.

Xu Wanting was startled, rushing to support him. “Dad!”

“So, you knew all along!” Xu Deming swayed, staring unsteadily at Xie Bingyan.

“I knew it all along! Eighteen years ago, I already knew! I truly hate it in my heart! I hate you, hate everyone! I gave birth to six daughters for your Xu family. What has your Xu family given me? Xu Deming, what have you given me?” Xie Bingyan gritted her teeth.

“What you’ve given me is illness, endless suffering, nearly death! For these four years, every time I see him, I think of that wretched woman’s face! I wish that wretched woman had died earlier!”

“I knew you would be like this!” Xu Mo looked at Xie Bingyan and smiled. “When you see me, you remember almost dying in childbirth! Every time you see me, you think of his mistress, even though they’ve been out of contact for sixteen years! Your hatred has not diminished over the years, but has grown stronger!”

“You and Xu Deming were childhood sweethearts, innocent and deeply in love, once inseparable and deeply affectionate! You couldn’t bear his betrayal!”

Xu Mo stepped back, clapping his hands as he spoke, “But it has nothing to do with me! What does it have to do with me, Xie Bingyan? All of this, it doesn’t concern me, right?”

Xie Bingyan looked at him, a fleeting hint of panic flashed in her eyes, quickly replaced by cold composure.

“In fact, the most pitiful one is Xu Junzhe!” Xu Mo turned to Xu Junzhe and chuckled, “Dear younger brother Xu Junzhe, do you know why you even exist? Hahaha, it’s really laughable, isn’t it? You shouldn’t have existed in the first place!”

Upon hearing this, Xu Junzhe quickly glanced at Xu Deming and then at Xie Bingyan, feeling a sudden rush of terror and panic in his heart.

“Don’t be afraid, Xu Junzhe, little brother. The future is long!” Xu Mo looked at him with a sneer. “It will unfold slowly! Everything, bit by bit, every detail, no one can escape! We will all come together!”

Having said that, Xu Mo turned around and walked away.
