Chen Lanping declared with righteous indignation, “Of course, expulsion.”

As soon as Mother Xu heard this, she immediately chimed in, “Yes, expulsion! If a student of such low character is allowed to stay in the school, how could I ever let my daughter continue her classes here? What if this orphan without parents seeks revenge someday?”

Outside the office, Hao Jiajia and the others listened in extreme anxiousness.

Ye Hancheng’s expression darkened as well, but not out of concern for Qin Yumian’s potential expulsion. It was the insult Mother Xu had hurled that troubled him. 

How dare she insult his wife, calling her an orphan? Since marrying him, his wife had never been subjected to such slights.

Ye Hancheng now entirely had no regrets about having returned to the past to find his wife early.

Otherwise, he would have never known the extent of the grievances she endured when she was just seventeen or eighteen.

The office was in uproar, but Principal Zhu remained seated, unmovable as a mountain.

He put his reading glasses back on and looked kindly at Qin Yumian. “Do you have anything else to say about the school’s handling of this matter?”

Qin Yumian shook her head, her expression impassive. “No…”

“I have something to say.”

Everyone turned toward the source of the voice and saw a small, skinny male student standing at the classroom door.

Qin Yumian frowned. “Xue Qingxing, what are you doing here? Go back.”

Xue Qingxing glanced at her briefly, then quickly averted his gaze. His face was pale, but his expression was resolute. “Qin Yumian hit someone because of me.”

Outside, Hao Jiajia’s face was one of surprise, “A rage for the sake of a beauty? No, for… a little guy?”

Hearing this, Ye Hancheng’s face darkened. His wife got into a fight over another man?!

Qin Yumian, unaware of what everyone else was thinking, noticed Xue Qingxing’s soft, fluffy curls. She strode over, grabbed his wrist, and began to pull him outside. “You’re not allowed to say anything. Hurry up and go back!”

Xue Qingxing clung to the doorframe, his eyes red as he looked at her. “I’m not going back. You didn’t do anything wrong; it’s my fault you got involved…”

Xue Qingxing hesitated for a few seconds, just about to speak when Qin Yumian shot him a glare. “Xue Qingxing!”

The boy flinched but then smiled at her with crescent-shaped eyes.

Xue Qingxing then turned directly to Xu Lili, who was standing next to her parents. His voice trembled slightly as he said, “They called me effeminate, said I was gay, and even pulled down my pants to check if I was really a man. They recorded it on video.”

“Everyone has a copy of the video. Qin Yumian stepped in to teach them a lesson and deleted the videos they had saved, but the original file is still on Xu Lili’s phone.”

Qin Yumian originally planned to find a time to ambush Xu Lili, grab her phone, and delete the video to settle the matter. But she didn’t expect to overhear Xu Lili in the bathroom stall, loudly spreading rumors that Xue Qingxing was gay and proudly telling everyone she had a video of Xue Qingxing with another man.

Seizing the moment, Qin Yumian flushed the toilet, pushed open the stall door, and walked out. After washing her hands, she leaned against the sink and demanded Xu Lili delete the video.

The young man had essentially returned the harsh words Mother Xu had used against Qin Yumian.

“As for Qin Yumian, while helping a classmate is commendable, resorting to violence is wrong. Therefore, she must be punished. She will write a self-reflection and clean the office for a week. Is that acceptable?”

Qin Yumian shook her head. “No objections.”

Ye Hancheng, standing beside Qin Yumian, gave her a playful smile and winked in front of everyone.
