DLSRWAR Chapter 64 Love delayed my wife’s college entrance examination.
The race ended with both of them crossing the finish line together.
Da Hai laughed and asked, “Chengzi, did you go easy on me?”
During the race, Ye Hancheng had been anything but focused, his gaze frequently drifting towards the girl carefully skating while holding onto the railing.
Otherwise, Ye Hancheng could have easily left him far behind.
“I’ll be treating dinner tonight. Chengzi, you should come too,” Da Hai said.
“I’ll ask Class Monitor Qin first,” Ye Hancheng said, waving his hand before returning to Qin Yumian’s side.
After spending some time at the skating rink, Qin Yumian was finally able to stand steadily on the ice, though she still couldn’t move around comfortably.
Because of his earlier blunder, Ye Hancheng dared not be as physically close to Qin Yumian as before, only offering support when her balance faltered.
Qin Yumian didn’t bring up the “wife” comment again, as if she had forgotten it entirely.
As they were about to leave, Da Hai came over to invite Ye Hancheng once more. “We might not meet again for a while, so Chengzi, just come with us for a meal.”
Ye Hancheng was initially concerned that Qin Yumian might be uncomfortable dining with strangers, and was about to decline, but to his surprise, Qin Yumian nodded and said, “Let’s go together then.”
With his wife’s agreement, Ye Hancheng had no objections.
Da Hai chose a hotpot restaurant for dinner.
Because there were quite a few people, they had reserved two private rooms.
Many girls at the scene wanted to share a room with Ye Hancheng, but throughout the evening, he stayed close to his class monitor, only chatting with Da Hai now and then.
After everyone was seated, Da Hai ordered several bottles of beer, and those who didn’t drink were given fruit juice.
There were a few people as talkative as Da Hai among the group. They chattered about interesting local news, and the conversation eventually shifted to academics and relationships.
“Chengzi, where did you transfer to?” someone asked.
Ye Hancheng poured a glass of juice for Qin Yumian. “Sangcheng, a small place in City H.”
“City H? Why did you suddenly transfer there?”
“Good teaching quality,” Ye Hancheng replied casually.
Though the capital had much better educational standards compared to City H, few in the room were particularly focused on academics or had attended school in City H, so they didn’t question his response.
However…
“Chengzi, you actually transferred because of that?”
Da Hai teased, “Did some wise person enlighten you, making you want to study hard?”
Ye Hancheng responded confidently, “What? Is that a problem?”
Da Hai said, “No, no, just didn’t expect that Ye Hancheng would ever want to put in some effort.”
A curious girl asked, “So Chengzi, after you transferred, did you have any relationships?”
Ye Hancheng glanced subtly at the girl beside him. “No, not at all.”
But he already had a wife.
Da Hai hooked his arm around Ye Hancheng’s shoulder with a mischievous grin. “Be honest with your buddy. So, uh… is there any beautiful girl in Sangcheng?”
Ye Hancheng said, “Our class monitor is from Sangcheng. Do you think she’s pretty?”
Da Hai glanced at Qin Yumian, who wasn’t saying much. Her features were delicate, and her almond-shaped eyes, when she smiled, seemed to be filled with stars.
“She’s quite pretty,” Da Hai said, touching his nose and grinning. “Hey, class monitor, do you have a boyfriend?”
Ye Hancheng, with a stern face, pushed Da Hai’s head away. “Why do you have so many pointless questions?”
Da Hai replied, “Just asking.”
Ye Hancheng answered for Qin Yumian, “No. What relationship? It would delay our Class Monitor Qin’s college entrance exam.”
Da Hai asked, “Which university does the class monitor want to attend? Have you considered coming to the capital for studies?”
Tsinghua-Peking Central Academy of Fine Arts. Ye Hancheng thought to himself.
But the next moment, Qin Yumian spoke up, “I haven’t considered it. I might go to Nanjing University.”
Ye Hancheng was instantly stunned.
He turned around, his eyes filled with disbelief. “Aren’t you planning to attend Tsinghua-Peking Central Academy of Fine Arts?”
Qin Yumian looked at the young man with a neutral expression. “Who said I wanted to attend Tsinghua-Peking Central Academy of Fine Arts?”
But he clearly remembered that his wife had graduated from that university.
During her university years, she had co-founded a studio with friends, took on numerous projects, and gained some fame in the design world by the time she graduated.
He distinctly remembered proposing to her at her graduation ceremony.
But now, she was telling him she didn’t want to attend Tsinghua-Peking Central Academy of Fine Arts?
Ye Hancheng’s expression was one of shock, and Qin Yumian couldn’t help but glance at him more, her eyes growing increasingly puzzled.
Noticing the awkward atmosphere, Da Hai quickly intervened with a smile, “Nanjing University is also pretty good; it’s a top-tier university too.”
Ye Hancheng was still somewhat unconvinced and asked again, “Class Monitor Qin, you really don’t want to attend Tsinghua-Peking Central Academy of Fine Arts?”
Qin Yumian’s eyelids drooped slightly. “I don’t.”
Ye Hancheng: “…”
Damn!
Had his rebirth completely disrupted the trajectory of his past life?
Da Hai said, “There are still over 300 days until the college entrance exam. It’s too early to decide which university to apply to. You’ll need to fill out the application based on your results.”
Hearing this, Ye Hancheng considered that his wife might not want to attend Tsinghua-Peking Central Academy of Fine Arts right now, but perhaps she would choose to apply to them after the exam.
Qin Yumian didn’t know what the young man was thinking but noticed he quickly returned to normal. Her gaze dimmed slightly.
Being young, the conversation naturally shifted away from academics and relationships, and they began discussing interesting things around them.
When the beer and hotpot arrived, they ate and drank while chatting about all sorts of topics.
Qin Yumian also had a few drinks but not much, while Ye Hancheng, after being pulled to another room by Da Hai, returned quite drunk.
Although Ye Hancheng had drunk a lot, it wasn’t immediately obvious; he just sat quietly and said little.
Qin Yumian was about to put a piece of beef tripe into her bowl when she suddenly felt a poke on her waist.
Qin Yumian: “?”
She turned to look at the young man beside her, who gazed at her with his watery eyes. “I want to eat too.”
Qin Yumian asked, “Eat what?”
Ye Hancheng pointed at the beef tripe in her bowl.
Qin Yumian: “…”
Fine.
As she was about to dip another piece of beef tripe, Ye Hancheng spoke again, “I want that piece in your bowl.”
It was just a piece of beef tripe; she could dip more if needed.
Qin Yumian replied, “Then you take it yourself.”
Ye Hancheng made a new request, “I want you to feed me.”
Qin Yumian: “…”
She helplessly complained, “Don’t you have hands of your own?”
As soon as she said this, she noticed Ye Hancheng looking at her with the gaze of a scorned man.
Unable to hold hands, unable to kiss, unable to sleep together, and now she wouldn’t even feed him a piece of beef tripe—Little President Ye was feeling very aggrieved.
Qin Yumian: “…”
“Fine, I’ll feed you.” Qin Yumian had no choice.
Unable to withstand the young man’s look, she picked up a piece of beef tripe from her bowl and brought it to Ye Hancheng’s mouth.
Ye Hancheng said, “Blow on it first.”
Qin Yumian responded, “It’s not even hot… Fine, I’ll blow on it.”
