DLSRWAR Chapter 65 The new school term began.
Qin Yumian gently blew on the piece of beef tripe before feeding it to the young man.
Ye Hancheng took a bite, making a soft “ah wu” sound as he chewed.
Seeing Ye Hancheng in this childish state made Qin Yumian unable to hold back a laugh. He looked just like a little kid.
Ye Hancheng wasn’t too drunk, just a bit dizzy. After the event, he insisted on being supported by Qin Yumian, his fluffy head resting on her shoulder, like he was snuggling and rubbing against her neck.
When the driver brought the car around and tried to help Ye Hancheng into it, Ye Hancheng held tightly onto Qin Yumian’s waist and refused to let go.
The driver looked at Qin Yumian with difficulty, saying, “Miss Qin, what should we do?”
“I’ll handle it,” Qin Yumian said. She grabbed Ye Hancheng’s collar with one hand and his shoulder with the other, managing to get him into the car on her own.
Back at Jade Moon Bay, with Aunt Wen taking care of Ye Hancheng, Qin Yumian didn’t go up to see him but instead called Hao Jiajia to check if the concert had ended.
However, Hao Jiajia didn’t answer, suggesting she was still at the concert.
Qin Yumian took a shower and then leisurely packed her things, organizing them and placing them into her backpack.
After drinking the hangover remedy, Ye Hancheng sobered up and remembered what he had done while drunk.
He was surprised that his wife hadn’t scolded him or left him behind.
With a lingering smell of hotpot on him, he took a quick shower and changed into fresh clothes before going to find Qin Yumian.
“Class Monitor Qin, are you asleep?” Ye Hancheng’s voice came with a knock on the door.
“No, come in.”
Ye Hancheng pushed open the door and saw Qin Yumian folding clothes. He curiously asked, “Class Monitor Qin, what are you doing?”
“Packing.”
Realizing that his wife was preparing to return to Sangcheng the next day, Ye Hancheng said, “Class Monitor Qin, I want to go back with you.”
Since school was only three days away, returning to Sangcheng now wasn’t too early.
Qin Yumian paused in her folding and looked up at the young man, “It’s not time for school yet.”
Ye Hancheng said earnestly, “I want to go back early to finish my homework.”
Qin Yumian asked, “How much of your homework have you done?”
Ye Hancheng replied, “…I haven’t started yet.”
Qin Yumian: “…”
Qin Yumian held her forehead helplessly and said, “Then you can come back with us.”
With his wife’s permission, Ye Hancheng immediately ran out to get Aunt Wen to pack his things.
Hao Jiajia returned only in the early hours.
Since Qin Yumian was waiting for her, she hadn’t gone to bed yet, and so had Ye Hancheng.
Upon entering the room and seeing both of them sitting in the living room, Hao Jiajia was surprised, “Class Monitor Qin, Brother Han, why are you still up?”
“I was waiting for you,” Qin Yumian glanced at the items in Hao Jiajia’s hands. “We’re returning to Sangcheng tomorrow. You didn’t forget, did you?”
Hao Jiajia: “…”
Hao Jiajia almost did forget.
“I’ll pack my things right away,” Hao Jiajia said with determination, and immediately ran upstairs.
Qin Yumian shook her head with a smile and stood up. “Brother Han, you should go to bed too. Good night.”
“Good night.”
…
The three of them returned to Sangcheng, and after catching up on two days’ worth of homework, the new school term began.
As soon as Qin Yumian entered the classroom, she heard Yang Mao borrowing homework from everyone.
“Damn it, why does the Chinese exam paper have to have so many words?” Yang Mao complained while scribbling away. “I don’t care; I’ll just write a few words to get by.”
Hao Jiajia, who had stayed up for two days doing homework, was now sleeping at her desk.
Someone came in and announced, “Class Monitor Qin, Old Lu wants to see you in the office.”
“Got it.” Qin Yumian put down her backpack and left the classroom.
In the office, there was more than just Old Lu. When Qin Yumian arrived, Old Lu said, “Qin Yumian, come over and meet the new English teacher for your class.”
Just as Yang Mao had heard in the rumor, Chen Lanping had indeed left.
The new English teacher was someone the principal had recruited from No.1 High School. She was said to have been a student of the principal herself. The new teacher was also a middle-aged woman who wore glasses and was very cheerful.
Through Old Lu’s introduction, Qin Yumian learned that the new English teacher’s surname was Jiang and she would temporarily serve as the homeroom teacher for their class.
Teacher Jiang wanted to ask about the learning situation of Class 4.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Qin Yumian said, “Teacher Jiang, didn’t you know about our class’ situation before you came to teach?”
Teacher Jiang shook her head and smiled, “No, could you tell me about it?”
“Our class is the worst in the whole school. We always come last in every exam.”
Teacher Jiang didn’t show any displeasure but took a few seconds to think before saying, “Alright, I understand the general situation. You can go back to your class now.”
“Class Monitor Qin, what did Old Lu want you to do in the office?” Yang Mao asked while still copying homework.
Qin Yumian took out her textbook from her backpack. “Chen Lanping left. Old Lu wanted me to meet the new homeroom teacher.”
Yang Mao paused for a second in the middle of copying homework. “Class Monitor Qin, are you serious? Sun Erniang really left?”
Qin Yumian nodded, “Mm.”
Seeing this, Yang Mao immediately stopped copying his homework, dropped his pen, and ran up to the podium to announce the big news, “Ladies and gentlemen, I have exciting news to share! Sun Erniang really left, and the new homeroom teacher has already arrived!”
Some classmates asked, “What’s the new teacher’s surname? What’s her temper like?”
“Don’t tell me we’ve gone from Sun Erniang to Abbess Miejue1?”
Yang Mao said, “I haven’t found out yet, but Class Monitor Qin has already met the new homeroom teacher.”
Everyone turned their attention to Qin Yumian.
Qin Yumian said, “The new homeroom teacher’s surname is Jiang. As for her temper… she shouldn’t be another Chen Lanping.”
Yang Mao cleared his throat and summarized, “Whether the new teacher is another Chen Lanping remains to be seen. We’ll know once we meet her.”
With that, he went back to his homework.
Ye Hancheng yawned as he walked into the classroom from the back door with his backpack slung over one shoulder.
Deng Yuanze was also catching up on homework. Hearing the sound of the backpack hitting the desk, he looked up and said, “Brother Han, long time no see. Did you have a good summer vacation?”
Ye Hancheng slouched sideways in his chair and thought for a moment before replying, “It was pretty good.”
He glanced around the classroom, and his gaze eventually landed on Qin Yumian.
The bell for the start of class rang, and Wu Yu, who had been promoted to academic committee member, stood up to collect the winter vacation homework.
“I haven’t finished it yet. I’ll turn it in next class. I’ll turn it in next class.”
“Brother Wu, can I turn it in tomorrow?”
“Fuck! Just ten days of vacation and the homework is piled up like a mountain. How could I possibly finish it?”
Wu Yu hadn’t finished his own work either. With just the math and science papers alone, there were more than twenty sheets. Even if he did one sheet a day, he wouldn’t finish on time.
But if he didn’t hand in a single sheet, the teacher would definitely ask.
Wu Yu collected the homework from the front row, and Qin Yumian took out the completed papers from her bag.
Wu Yu was so moved he almost cried, “Class Monitor Qin is still the one who cooperates with my work.”
