Mm.
The capybara is here.
The young man’s round eyes blinked.
Through the screen, it was as if they were about to plunge into someone’s heart.
A few seconds later, the masked man on the screen lowered his eyes: “Turn the camera around.”
“Aren’t you going to look at me anymore?” The capybara’s mouth was faster than his brain. He was still thinking about the appendectomy doctor’s question about where he was…
After his brain caught up, his ears turned red with embarrassment, and he quickly flipped the camera.
“How… how do I get there?” Hopefully, the appendectomy doctor didn’t hear his rambling…
The man’s tone was casual, pointing the way: “Go straight ahead, the second inpatient building.”
The young man followed the instructions, turning into the lobby, silently relieved that the appendectomy doctor probably hadn’t heard him.
“Go through the lobby and the service elevator, turn right, do you see elevator number eight?”
“I see it.” He saw the elevator as soon as he reached the service elevator.
Guan Yue: “Mm, go to the 19th floor.”
“Okay.” The young man carried the buns in one hand and held his phone in the other.
“Mm.” The masked man on the video spoke again, his thick sword eyebrows seemed to rise slightly, “Now I can continue looking at you.”
Pei Qi: “…Huh?”
“Teacher Pei didn’t want me to continue looking at you?”
The temperature that had just subsided in his ears rose again instantly: “I… didn’t… mean that.”
A hint of amusement seemed to ripple in those deep, narrow eyes in the video.
“There’s no signal in the elevator, I’ll hang up first,” Pei Qi really didn’t have the courage to continue this video call, and he was also too cowardly to hang up directly, “See you later…”
He hung up the video and stepped into the elevator.
His ears and face were burning up, fortunately, there was no one else in the elevator, otherwise, he might have been taken to the fever clinic.
The elevator slowly rose to the 19th floor. Elevator number 8 was opposite the doctor’s on-duty room, no wonder the appendectomy doctor told him to take number 8.
The young man, carrying the buns, walked to the closed door of the on-duty room, about to knock.
The door suddenly opened at that moment.
A man in a white coat stood before the young man, one hand on the doorknob, the other casually pushing up the glasses on the bridge of his nose: “Come in.”
Sure enough, as long as the figure is good, even a white coat can be worn as a fashion item.
Pei Qi first saw the name tag on the man’s chest.
Guan Yue—Attending Physician.
Then he raised his eyes and met the man’s eyes behind the glasses.
Offline confrontation, even worse.
In less than three seconds, the young man quickly lowered his eyes: “Okay.”
This was his first time in a doctor’s on-duty room.
It wasn’t big, with a bunk bed, a row of desks in the middle, and then some daily necessities, a microwave oven, a water dispenser…
“This probably needs to be heated,” Pei Qi put the buns on the table.
“Okay.” The man took off his mask.
Pei Qi had seen videos of masked handsome guys before, most of them were the type where taking off the mask would shatter the filter.
He thought the appendectomy doctor could also make one.
But it would be the type where putting on the mask would make you gasp, and taking it off would make you gasp even more.
So handsome.
He really wanted to ask the appendectomy doctor how he looked.
“Do you want to eat some more?” Guan Yue put the buns into a clean glass bowl.
“I’m full, no need,” If he ate any more, his head would be filled with buns, “Doctor Guan, are you getting off work tomorrow morning?”
“Mm.” Guan Yue turned the microwave button.
Pei Qi nodded: “Then I’ll go back and tidy up. I’ll put my clothes in the closet in the guest room, okay?”
“Why wouldn’t it be okay?” The man asked back.
Pei Qi paused for two seconds and heard that it meant it was okay.
“Then I’ll go back.”
The microwave “dinged” at this moment, signaling that it had finished.
The man standing by the microwave didn’t reach for the door, but turned around.
Facing the young man.
There were only a few meters between them.
Those black eyes under the cold metal directly invaded the young man’s sight.
Occupying it without leaving any room.
The capybara was a little nervous, but he wasn’t an ostrich, he didn’t have the skill to bury himself in the ground.
Even if he did, he would probably be bitten on the neck by that deep and cold frost wolf.
So, the capybara could only lower his gaze slightly.
Avoiding a direct confrontation.
A few seconds later, Guan Yue slowly opened his lips: “Going back?”
“Is… is there anything else?” The capybara’s tone was a little uncertain.
He came to deliver the buns, and the buns were already heated.
He should be… done, right?
“Nothing else.” After a few more seconds, the man slowly opened the microwave and took out the glass bowl.
The plump white buns were steaming, the meat oil seeping into the dough, the aroma filling the air.
Guan Yue asked again: “What kind of filling is this?”
“Braised pork, and one is vegetarian, green beans and bamboo shoots,” Pei Qi answered.
Guan Yue: “Braised pork can be used as filling.”
“It can be,” the young man, who was already at the door, walked back a few steps and leaned forward, “Braised pork buns are very fragrant, Doctor Guan, you’ll know if you try them.”
“Okay.” The man sat down, picked up his chopsticks, picked up an oily meat bun, took a bite, and chewed slowly, savoring it.
“Fragrant, right?” Pei Qi was very confident in his master’s wife’s buns.
Guan Yue: “Not bad.”
The man certainly noticed the young man leaning closer, and those bright eyes, glued to the bun.
“Teacher Pei, are you sure you don’t want another one?”
Pei Qi smiled shyly, his dimples appearing: “Do you have enough?”
Guan Yue looked at the five large buns in the glass bowl, and the half bag of unheated buns: “Teacher Pei, I don’t have bulimia.”
The young man was even more embarrassed, laughing awkwardly twice: “Then I’ll have another one.”
Actually, he really felt full just now.
Mainly because the buns were too fragrant.
“Wash your hands,” the man instructed.
There was a washbasin in the on-duty room. The young man nodded and carefully washed his hands according to the “seven-step handwashing method” posted on the wall.
After drying them with a paper towel, he sat down next to Guan Yue.
“Eat,” the man pushed the glass bowl over, “Enough? I’ll heat up a few more.”
“No, enough, enough.”
Pei Qi hadn’t forgotten that he came to deliver buns…
Not to eat buns…
“Did you sleep well last night?” Guan Yue glanced sideways.
“Pretty good.” Pei Qi ate quickly, not as slowly as the appendectomy doctor. He had already finished a whole bun.
The man’s sideways gaze fixed on the young man’s lips, which had a little bit of crumbs.
He extended his index finger, pointed to the same spot on his own lips, and pointed: “Dirty, wipe it.”
The capybara followed his finger and looked, his eyes clear.
Dirty?
He didn’t see it?
After staring for two seconds, the capybara, who didn’t see any crumbs or oil stains, leaned a few centimeters closer to the big frost wolf.
Then he took a tissue from the side and reached out.
His fingertips with the tissue covered the man’s lips, wiping them.
“Not dirty,” the young man let go, showing the clean tissue to the man.
Guan Yue: “…”
The man didn’t speak, but also took a tissue.
Pei Qi thought the appendectomy doctor thought he hadn’t wiped it properly, and added, “Really…”
Before he finished speaking, his lips were touched by the soft tissue.
He felt the warmth of the tissue on his lips, mixed with a faint scent of cedar.
“Mm.”
So… he meant his mouth was dirty.
After the man carefully wiped his lips, he withdrew his hand.
“Thank you.”
It was so awkward, he had to leave quickly: “I… I’ll go back now.”
Guan Yue: “Wait, there’s something I need to ask your opinion on.”
Pei Qi: “Okay.”
“Do you want to go on a honeymoon? And the wedding, do you have any ideas?” The man asked, “I didn’t ask you before we got the certificate, do you need these ceremonies?”
The capybara received the information.
Honeymoon trip…
Him and the appendectomy doctor?
So strange.
Honeymoon?
The kind who have only met four times?
He and the appendectomy doctor could at most only be the kind of travel buddies that were popular online.
“No need, Doctor Guan’s work is quite busy,” he waved his hand, “No need for all that.”
Guan Yue: “You can take a wedding leave.”
“No need to bother,” Pei Qi casually blurted out what was on his mind, “We’re not familiar, what honeymoon?”
The young man couldn’t stand his own brain. Eating too many buns seemed to have made it worse. Why was he blurting out everything?
Although what he said wasn’t wrong.
“Cough… I mean…”
“Teacher Pei is right,” the man’s tone was flat, his eyes without a ripple.
At that moment, the phone in the on-duty room rang abruptly.
The man answered the phone.
A few seconds later, he hung up: “An emergency case, I have to go take a look.”
“Oh, okay, Doctor Guan, you go ahead,” Pei Qi stood up to leave, “I’ll go back too.”
“Mm, be careful on the road,” The man put on his mask and hurried out the door.
Pei Qi looked at the man’s back.
The white coat had the visual effect of a trench coat.
