Chapter 6
Zhan Hongyan’s eyes widened in terror, and she asked in a trembling voice, “You, you are also…”
“I heard you say that Grandpa appeared to you in a dream and said that I was adopted.” Zhan Xinyue quickly interrupted Zhan Hongyan. The words “reborn” were forcefully held back.
Zhan Xinyue didn’t want to take any risks. If people knew she was reborn, she might be taken away for experiments.
“Silly girl, how can you take a dream seriously?” Chen Juxiang breathed a sigh of relief and changed her tone to a more affectionate one.
Zhan Xinyue scoffed, “It’s not true?! Why were you so surprised just now? What did you mean by asking how I knew?”
“Besides, you can’t hide this. I’ll just ask the older people in the brigade, and I’ll know. So, don’t waste time, hurry up and break off ties.”
Chen Juxiang had nothing to say. She stood there, reluctantly watching Zhan Hongyan write the letter of disinheritance.
“Because Zhan Xinyue is not the biological daughter of Zhan Aiguo and Chen Juxiang, we are breaking off ties today. From now on, Zhan Xinyue and Zhan Aiguo’s family will have no further connection.”
After writing it, Zhan Xinyue had Chen Juxiang and Zhan Hongyan press their fingerprints.
Zhan Xinyue put away the letter of disinheritance, looked at Chen Juxiang who was looking down, her eyes darting around, and said coldly, “Don’t think that this doesn’t count because Zhan Aiguo didn’t sign it. If you dare to come looking for me in the future, I’ll go to the police station and report you for human trafficking.”
“I didn’t. You were adopted.” Chen Juxiang retorted loudly.
Zhan Xinyue continued expressionlessly, “It’s been almost twenty years, who knows? I’m not their biological daughter, the police will definitely investigate. Even if I was really adopted, they will still take your whole family to the police station and interrogate each of you separately.”
Zhan Xinyue deliberately scared them. Zhan Aiguo’s family were genuine farmers. They definitely didn’t want to go to the police station. Even if they hadn’t done anything wrong, they wouldn’t dare to deal with the police.
Sure enough, Chen Juxiang was so scared that she immediately promised repeatedly, guaranteeing that she would never look for Zhan Xinyue again.
Huang Jianhua witnessed Zhan Xinyue’s ruthlessness and didn’t want to lose two more teeth. Without waiting for Zhan Xinyue to urge him, he covered his mouth with his left hand, picked up a pen with his right hand, and quickly wrote a letter of introduction for Zhan Xinyue to live independently. He took out his official seal and stamped it, then handed it to Zhan Xinyue with both hands.
“Comrade Zhan Xinyue, you can take this to the police station to handle the procedures.”
“Okay.” Zhan Xinyue took it, carefully checked it, and folded it together with the letter of disinheritance, putting them in her pocket.
“By the way, I also heard that you want to marry Li Jian.” Zhan Xinyue walked up to Zhan Hongyan and looked down at her.
Chen Juxiang glared fiercely at Zhan Hongyan. It was all her fault. She didn’t know how to speak quietly. Now, everything was exposed to Zhan Xinyue, and they were forced to break off ties. From now on, there would be one less servant to do chores at home.
Actually, Zhan Hongyan’s voice wasn’t really that loud, but Zhan Xinyue had practiced martial arts, and her five senses were much stronger than ordinary people’s, so she could hear her clearly.
“I just don’t want to go with the army, that’s why I want to marry Li Jian. Those were just dreams, don’t take them seriously.” Zhan Hongyan was afraid that Zhan Xinyue would hear that Li Jian would become rich, so she blinked and lied.
“I was engaged to Li Jian, and now you’ve lost your virginity. As long as Li Jian isn’t stupid, he definitely won’t choose you.” Zhan Xinyue smiled, “Of course, if you insist on marrying him, for the sake of our sisterhood over the years, I’m not against letting you have him. I’ll also keep your secret. I won’t tell anyone about what happened tonight.”
Zhan Hongyan and Chen Juxiang were both overjoyed. As for the fact that she lost her virginity and wouldn’t bleed during the wedding night, they could just use some chicken blood.
“But, keeping a secret always requires some benefits, right?” Zhan Xinyue smiled and held up three fingers.
Chen Juxiang immediately took out 30 yuan, “Here you go, but you have to guarantee that you won’t tell anyone about tonight’s events.”
Zhan Xinyue didn’t take it. She shook her finger and said, “Why is your daughter Zhan Hongyan’s reputation only worth 30 yuan?”
“Then how much do you want?”
“300 yuan, not a penny less!” Zhan Xinyue replied. She was filial in her previous life and thought that as the older sister, she didn’t mind doing more. But she wasn’t stupid. She knew the Zhan family’s wealth.
Zhan’s grandfather was a skilled hunter in the past and had saved a lot of money. Zhan Hongtu had used some of it for his studies over the years, and there was still over 300 yuan left.
“I don’t have that much.” Chen Juxiang didn’t want to give it to her. She bargained, “I’ll give you 50 yuan at most.”
