Chapter 34: Thirty-Third Card – The More You Fight, the Braver You Become
After finishing her private stash, organizing the public inventory was much simpler.
Copper coins, food, and daily necessities were divided into three portions. Even if not perfectly equal, the three of them wouldn’t mind a little difference.
The cowhide went to Su Ning, the cowhide bag went to Qiao Duoduo.
A piece of cowhide armor, blue-quality, +6 Constitution, +3 Strength, naturally went to Huoyang.
Two boxes of blue-quality bottled milk (24 bottles per box), which quickly restore 40 HP when consumed and provide a 10% Strength bonus for one hour, were split—one box each for Su Ning and Qiao Duoduo.
Three cans of milk powder: Huoyang declined, saying there were no kids of the right age at home. Qiao Duoduo kept one for her little nephew, leaving the other two for Su Ning. Large household, lots of people—no problem.
The remaining cowhide sofa and some mysterious cowhide drum? Su Ning simply gave them all to Qiao Duoduo.
After dividing the inventory, it was already very late. Su Ning had planned to rest.
But unexpectedly, a surprise came late at night.
“Beep, system notification: Friend message.”
Su Ning opened the chat panel—it was Fat Sheep! Could it be another cash gift?
“When will you be able to custom-make pants?”
Luo Nanchuan hadn’t expected it. In the ghost zone, not only were there ghosts immune to physical attacks, but also ferocious monsters.
Though all were level 15 monsters, ghosts’ mental attacks were annoying but manageable. The monsters were another story—fast, deadly, with claws that ordinary clothing couldn’t resist. Each scratch left three or four streaks of blood. Only attribute-enhanced hoodies survived unscathed. Hoodies counted as gear, so they offered higher defense.
Either way, Luo Nanchuan was about to lose it. In just one day, he had ruined eight pairs of pants, including various men’s pajama bottoms. He felt he was going insane.
If he didn’t return to town, others would see it—a man in the ghost zone fighting monsters with his lower half. Embarrassing beyond words. Since only proper gear could survive, and there was nothing online to buy, he had no choice but to contact Su Ning for custom pants.
Faced with a customer like Fat Sheep, Su Ning naturally couldn’t hide her excitement.
“Mr. Luo Nanchuan, what kind of pants do you need? Boxer shorts, long pants, shorts, suit pants, or Scottish kilt-shorts?”
Seeing Su Ning’s teasing tone, Luo Nanchuan understood she didn’t really know anything, but today he was just too frustrated.
“You can make anything?”
“Of course not,” Su Ning answered honestly, wanting to maintain her good reputation with Fat Sheep.
“What’s the fastest?”
The fastest? Su Ning quickly ran through options in her mind and settled on:
“Beach boxer shorts.”
Without a doubt, she could make these with the same skill she used to make doll clothes as a child. Loosely stitched, elastic waistband, done.
But Fat Sheep needed them immediately? Had he gotten too excited with a girl? Perhaps she should also make a gift for the girl—or give some “special present.” As long as Fat Sheep was happy, Su Ning would profit.
“Can you send them today?”
Sure enough, he must be too excited in bed with the girl—these must arrive tonight! As the designated custom shop owner for Fat Sheep, Su Ning had to maintain absolute professionalism.
“Don’t worry, one hour and it’ll be done.”
“Good. Send the attributes first, then the quote.”
“Sure, no problem. Wishing Mr. Luo greater courage in battle!”
Su Ning’s words were clearly a double entendre, but in Luo Nanchuan’s eyes, he assumed she understood his awkward situation with the monsters and was encouraging him to fight bravely. This guy wasn’t bad.
“Thanks!”
Su Ning thought: Fat Sheep really is blunt. Men are all like this; nothing unusual.
Both spoke their own minds, and everyone was happy. Su Ning quickly flipped through the sewing manual, picked a cool light gray linen, and started working.
One hour later:
“Beep, player creation successful. Item check: Clothing: Shorts, assigning attributes…”
“Beep, attributes assigned. Please name the clothing.”
“Beach Shorts.” Not sure where Fat Sheep would be impressing the girl, otherwise a more fitting name could’ve been chosen.
“Beep, naming successful.
Item: Beach Shorts
Grade: Green
Level Requirement: 8
Attributes: Agility +4, Constitution +1
Maker: Su Ning”
Done. Su Ning initially wanted to send the attributes immediately, but then remembered how kind Fat Sheep had been, repeatedly supporting her business without haggling.
She decided to include a gift: a “treasured” piece of women’s lingerie, a green-quality sleepwear set with +2 Agility. Otherwise too embarrassing, Su Ning and Qiao Duoduo would’ve worn it themselves.
Prepared, she opened a private chat and sent the Beach Shorts’ attributes.
“Mr. Luo, the shorts are ready. Five attribute points, three silver coins.”
“Good, I’ll order two full-length men’s jeans. Can you make them?”
“Yes, yes! Don’t worry, Mr. Luo. Jeans take 3–5 days; my craft isn’t perfect yet.”
“Alright, how much deposit?”
“No deposit needed. You’re an old customer. I’ll make according to your size, send the item for attribute check, then finalize the price.”
“Okay.”
Immediately, Luo Nanchuan sent three silver coins remotely. Su Ning mailed the Beach Shorts along with the lingerie. To show sincerity, she took the lingerie out of its card and neatly placed it atop the shorts.
Receiving the shorts, Luo Nanchuan looked at the two tiny garments—insufficiently sized women’s clothes—and the “Wishing Mr. Luo greater courage in battle!” comment suddenly felt inappropriate.
What was Su Ning thinking? Buying men’s shorts and gifting women’s lingerie—did she think he was dating someone? Bastard.
“You sent the wrong thing.”
Luo Nanchuan barely kept his composure, thinking maybe he selected the wrong trade.
“No, Mr. Luo, you’re an old customer. Just a little gift. All men, right? I get it,” Su Ning teased.
Luo Nanchuan gritted his teeth and replied:
“I don’t need it.”
But Su Ning didn’t care. Was Mr. Luo shy? Surely not—he must’ve thought she was a man. Could it be cross-dressing fetish? Her mental alarm went off: that lingerie wasn’t for that!
“Mr. Luo, that set wasn’t meant for you. You can give it to your girlfriend—guaranteed satisfaction.”
“I don’t have a girlfriend. I don’t need it.”
“No problem! Men, right? Mr. Luo, don’t be shy. Keep it for later. No big deal. I’ll make your jeans properly.”
Luo Nanchuan was speechless. Was this still the shop owner who never raised prices, had good service, and a simple mind? This was just a shameless street rogue.
