For a moment, the villa district erupted into chaos.
However, the patrol team was well-prepared. They quickly called in reinforcements and managed to catch the intruders, tying them up.
Su Weiguo, Liu Qin, and Liu Sheng were bound together, furious.
“I’m telling you, this is illegal kidnapping! My daughter is in this villa district, and when she arrives, you’ll regret this!”
“Yes, yes, we’re not bad people. We just wanted to get in to contact our daughter—don’t get the wrong idea.”
“My sister will be here soon, so don’t get reckless!”
When members of the homeowners’ committee arrived, they saw this chaotic scene.
Hou Rui crouched dejectedly to the side, also tied up—a case of “biting off more than you can chew.”
He had meant to make Su You uncomfortable, but ended up trapping himself.
He cursed himself for contacting that woman, Liu Qin, but even so, he tried to drag someone else down with him: “I swear, Su You is here. These are her parents—they won’t leave without seeing her.”
Hearing this, the patrol leader hesitated and glanced toward the committee. “This…”
Su You had been introduced by Sun Liancheng as a resident. Since she wasn’t present, he should know the situation.
Sun Liancheng stepped forward. “Alright, I’ll handle this.”
Seeing Sun Liancheng intervene, Su Weiguo perked up. “You must be the leader. Tell me where Su You is! Does she not dare to see me? This unfilial daughter… just wait until I see her, she’ll regret it!”
Although the people Su Weiguo had brought were tied up, they still vented their anger: “Yes, this unfilial daughter hides in a villa, enjoying luxuries while her parents suffer outside. We’ve never seen such a cold-hearted, selfish monster!”
“We’re here to uphold justice. Her daughter has no conscience; such a person deserves a lesson.”
Liu Qin seized the moment to play the victim: “Yes! Look, I’m pregnant, and for the past month I haven’t eaten or slept properly. Our daughter doesn’t care about us at all—this is why we came to ask for help.”
Hearing about the pregnancy, Sun Liancheng paused briefly.
Immediately, some committee members expressed doubt: “Really? Su You wasn’t introduced by Brother Sun. What kind of person is she, hiding from her family at a time like this?”
“She’s heartless and selfish.”
“This is a pregnant woman. How cold-hearted must her daughter be to ignore her?”
Seeing the committee members siding against them, Liu Qin sneered. Even if she couldn’t get into the villa today, she was determined to ruin Su You’s reputation and make it impossible for her to live there.
Su Weiguo also became arrogant: “Yes! My wife is pregnant—you can’t imprison a pregnant woman. Release us immediately!”
Sure enough, some naïve people stepped forward to untie them.
Song Min, who had arrived with Sun Liancheng, heard this and sneered, pushing through:
“Do you have any idea why Su You stays away from you? You treat your daughter like a blood bank—father doesn’t care, mother is indifferent, stepmother is feeding off her. Who would want children like that around?”
“Blindly believing others’ words—if anyone has a saintly heart, go take her home and care for such people yourselves.”
Her words quieted the gossipers in the committee, who shot her annoyed glances.
Seeing no one defending her, Liu Qin panicked: “Who are you? Only speaking for Su You, right? I’m two months pregnant! If she doesn’t care for me, who will?”
Song Min looked at her and at the indignant Su Weiguo.
“At a time like this, pregnant, while adults can’t even get enough to eat, you want her to support children too? Why should your eldest daughter feed you and help raise your child? Have you thought about how she survives?”
“Even if she lives in the villa district, do you know what kind of life she’s living?”
Only now did Liu Qin realize this point—but she quickly responded: “We’ve heard Su You owns a supermarket, a big boss! She has tons of supplies. What’s wrong with giving us some?”
Su Weiguo chimed in: “Yes, yes! She has massive supplies. Why can’t she give us some? I’m her father!”
Hou Rui didn’t remain silent: “Last month I went to see Su You. She came out of her supermarket in style. She even used her authority to kick me out—no mercy at all. This woman is heartless and ruthless.”
Hearing this, Song Min was furious and ready to retort—but then someone slowly approached from a short distance.
“Oh, looks like it’s quite lively tonight.”
Su You, holding a large orange cat, stood calmly among the crowd.
Song Min grabbed her gently. “Su You, why are you here? I’ll handle this; you don’t need to intervene.”
Su You smiled. “It’s fine, Min. This is my matter—I should handle it myself.”
Song Min had initially feared Su You might soften and agree to their demands.
But seeing her now, it was clear she had no intention of giving them any leeway, so she relaxed a little.
Su You had told her about Liu Qin: a merciless, manipulative person who used moral blackmail. She couldn’t let someone like that entangle her.
Liu Qin, still tied up, immediately called out when she saw Su You: “You, You You, untie me! You live in such a high-class place and didn’t tell us. We went through so much to find you, and the security even tied us up. What is this about?”
Su Weiguo softened his expression: “You You, save your father! They think we’re thieves and are trying to throw us out. Tell them to release us.”
Liu Sheng joined in: “Sister, save me! I’m terrified.”
Su You walked over slowly. “Oh, you’re here. Who told you I’m here?”
Liu Qin rolled her eyes and immediately sold Hou Rui out.
“It’s Hou Rui. He said he saw your big supermarket and villa. You’re living so comfortably.”
“You You, you secretly became a supermarket owner and didn’t tell us. It’s the apocalypse, bring out your supplies! We’re family—you should give us half.”
Su Weiguo added: “Yes, yes! I’m your father—your supplies belong to us.”
The surrounding people all looked at them strangely.
Just moments ago, these three were screaming about their daughter’s unfilial behavior. Now, seeing her, they suddenly demanded her supplies. Their ability to flip faces was faster than turning a page.
Such thick skin—an impenetrable layer even a storm couldn’t wash away.
