The day after Xie Wanxing arrived at the set, filming began.
The main actors were all talented young actors, and after a few days of getting used to each other, things went smoothly. Director Lin Shen had a good temper, and screenwriter Li Siheng sometimes came to the set and treated the whole crew to food whenever he did.
The atmosphere on set was harmonious, with no one causing trouble or making things difficult for others.
Xie Wanxing and the female lead, Han Shui, had to maintain their figures, so while everyone else was enjoying the afternoon tea provided by the screenwriter, they could only nibble on salad leaves. The smell of fried chicken and milk tea around them made them want to cry.
Eating lettuce leaves, Han Shui took out her phone. “Teacher Xie, let’s take a picture together. We’ve been on set for so long, and we haven’t even taken a photo together.”
Xie Wanxing had no objections. He got a little closer to Han Shui, holding a cherry tomato in his mouth, and they smiled together for the camera, intimate but not too close.
Han Shui edited the photo herself and posted it, with the caption: “While everyone is having fried chicken and milk tea in the afternoon on set, only Teacher Xie and I are nibbling on salad leaves.”
She tagged Xie Wanxing, who reposted it.
In just a few seconds, the comment section was flooded with fans from both sides.
Xie Wanxing chuckled as he looked at the comments from all the girls who seemed even younger than him, shouting loudly:
“Ah ah ah ah ah, look at Mommy Xing!”
“My Xingxing, are you tired from filming?”
He shook his head, not really understanding what the young girls nowadays were thinking, but he felt that their lively and happy appearance was very cute.
After resting for an hour, Xie Wanxing put away his phone and continued to focus on the shoot.
That day marked his eighteenth day since joining the crew.
Not a single message from Fu Wenshan.
Xie Wanxing didn’t know why, but he wasn’t very happy about it, yet he also felt that he was being too melodramatic.
Fu Wenshan was browsing Xie Wanxing’s Weibo when he unexpectedly saw the photo of him and Han Shui.
Since Xie Wanxing joined the crew, he had developed a habit of checking Xie Wanxing’s Weibo whenever he had time, using a secret account.
The photo showed that they were on set. Han Shui was wearing a lake-blue ancient-style dress, her appearance was delicate and gentle, perfect for this kind of classical look. She looked fragile and shy, tilting her head slightly to one side. Next to her, Xie Wanxing wore a black embroidered robe, looking very majestic. However, he had a round red tomato in his mouth, and his lips were also red, with a droplet of water on them, looking round and cute.
The two of them could be considered a match made in heaven, the official couple in the movie, and many fans praised their compatibility.
But all Fu Wenshan could see was Xie Wanxing. The beautiful goddess Han Shui was directly pixelated in his eyes.
He stared at Xie Wanxing’s face like a pervert for a minute before reluctantly tearing his gaze away.
He felt that something was not quite right with his current state.
Initially, he didn’t think that Xie Wanxing joining the crew would have any impact on him.
It was just a return to his previous life of single celibacy, going to the company normally, boxing, hanging out with friends, or composing in his study. Before meeting Xie Wanxing, that’s how he lived, and it was fine.
But as it turned out, once someone has a sex life, it’s hard to go back to the simple and celibate life.
Ten days after Xie Wanxing left, Fu Wenshan lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, finally understanding what it meant to have a sleepless night.
So now he was sitting on the couch, looking at Xie Wanxing’s smiling face on his phone, involuntarily thinking, would it be too shameless of him to go visit Xie Wanxing at work?
He had just finished a job as a guest performer on a talent show, and his upcoming single had already been recorded. The rest was just company work, which didn’t require his immediate attention.
He had a full two weeks of free time.
No scheduling conflicts.
But he glanced at his phone again, his gaze deep, tinged with a hint of embarrassment. Flying all the way there just to hook up with Xie Wanxing, was that too shameless?
Maybe Xie Wanxing wouldn’t want him to go.
Thinking of this possibility, Fu Wenshan’s eyes darkened a bit more.
He casually clicked into Xie Wanxing’s comment section, where the front rows were still filled with fans’ praise and rainbow farts.
But he saw a familiar ID at a glance.
Li Siheng, using his own selfie as a profile picture, left a string of comments in Xie Wanxing’s comment section, “Hahaha, this is so pathetic.”
Fu Wenshan looked at the string of “hahaha” and showed a subtle expression.
How could he forget that Li Siheng was also on this crew, as the chief screenwriter and investor?
Li Siheng invested in a movie, so it was reasonable for him, as an old friend, to visit, nothing wrong with that.
Fu Wenshan didn’t consult Li Siheng either, sitting on the plane.
When he was waiting for takeoff, he finally sent a text to notify him.
Li Siheng was originally enjoying the sun by the hotel pool. When he received Fu Wenshan’s text, he pushed open his sunglasses to look at the blue sky. Nothing unusual, no red rain. What was Fu Wenshan up to?
He saw through the trick at a glance.
He had invested in five dramas already, and Fu Wenshan had never thought about visiting before. Now that he had invested in this “Rain in the Demon City” drama, which mostly featured young actors and actresses, Fu Wenshan was all excited to come.
Considering Fu Wenshan seemed to be getting involved with someone recently, even a fool could see there was a problem.
Li Siheng sneered. He had initially wanted to call Fu Wenshan and question him properly, but when he was about to dial the phone, he quickly hung up.
His eyes glanced around, and he replied to Fu Wenshan, “Sure, come over.”
Then he turned and went to a small group chat with his close friends and posted a message.
“Damn, this Fu brat is actually coming to visit me. Why didn’t he come see me when I was filming that detective drama last time? I seriously suspect that his object of affection is in my drama crew.”
His close friends quickly joined in, gossiping eagerly.
“Damn, really? Who’s in your crew? Who’s the best-looking?”
Li Siheng thought for a moment and felt there were quite a few suspects. “There are plenty; first, let’s exclude the actresses since Fu Wenshan is into guys. But from the remaining male actors, there’s a variety of handsome guys.” Li Siheng added after some thought, “As for the most good-looking, it should be Zhao Jinghua and Xie Wanxing. But these two are the least likely.”
“Why?” His friends were curious.
“Zhao Jinghua seems to have a husband. If Fu Wenshan likes him, wouldn’t that be a tragedy? As for Xie Wanxing… I remember he had a very good-looking and innocent young man by his side last year, so he’s most likely a top, which clashes with Fu Wenshan.”
Xie Wanxing sneezed on set.
Friend B: “I think you shouldn’t limit yourself to your own crew. There are several crews filming simultaneously in your studio, right? Maybe it’s someone from the next one.”
Friend D: “Who cares which crew he’s from? Once Fu ge arrives, let Sihong keep an eye on him and see who he approaches.”
That made sense.
After chatting with these friends for a while, Li Siheng went back to his room, changed clothes, and prepared to pick up Fu Wenshan at the airport, eagerly waiting for him to walk into the trap.
He really wanted to see which little devil had managed to charm the usually unyielding Fu Wenshan.
When Fu Wenshan arrived, it was already evening.
He got into Li Siheng’s car, not in a hurry to go to the set. Xie Wanxing was probably busy filming and wouldn’t have time to bother with him.
“Let’s grab dinner first,” Fu Wenshan stretched his muscles and said to Li Siheng, “The airplane food was not enough at all. I got hungry right after waking up.”
Li Siheng had no objections; he was also feeling a bit hungry. As he drove, he asked, “Hotpot or barbecue?”
Fu Wenshan thought for a moment. “Hotpot.”
The two headed straight to a hotpot restaurant.
This hotpot restaurant, located in the film studio, had good food. It was already dinner time, and all the private rooms were fully booked, so Fu Wenshan and Li Siheng just sat in the main hall.
But not long after they started eating, two people walked in at the entrance of the hotpot restaurant. Both of them had tall and slender figures, wearing hats and masks, and were led to a private room by the waiter.
Fu Wenshan didn’t pay attention at first, until these two people gradually approached their table. When he looked up, the beef he was holding fell back into the pot.
Xie Wanxing and Fu Wenshan stared at each other.
The air seemed to freeze.
Xie Wanxing even doubted his eyes. Otherwise, how could he see Fu Wenshan here?
Zhao Jinghua initially didn’t recognize who was sitting opposite Li Siheng. He just saw Li Siheng and wanted to say hello. But after looking at the person’s face clearly, his eyes widened.
Damn, isn’t this Xie Wanxing’s little wolf dog? A bunch of vulgar comments flashed through his mind.
But seeing Xie Wanxing looking oblivious to Fu Wenshan’s arrival and the unfamiliar Li Siheng sitting opposite, he didn’t say anything rashly.
“”Well then, Wanxing and I will go eat first,”
“Mr. Li, take your time with your friend,” Zhao Jinghua smiled and led Xie Wanxing away.
Except for a brief greeting with Li Siheng at the beginning, Xie Wanxing remained like a background character throughout, silent. Fu Wenshan also tacitly didn’t greet him, unsure if Xie Wanxing wanted others to know they were acquainted.
But when Xie Wanxing left, Fu Wenshan’s gaze lingered on the hand he held with Zhao Jinghua for a long time before he withdrew it.
