Shen Nanxing glanced at the newly uploaded video on his phone, a hint of delight flashed across his face. With this evidence, it would be easy to bring up the topic of breaking off the engagement later. He didn’t expect Fu Chengyu to be able to act so intimately with Lin Bai anytime and anywhere. The last time was in the storage room, and this time, they were kissing in the hallway. These two clearly didn’t care about the location at all.
Shen Nanxing returned to the private room and found that everyone had almost finished eating. Someone suggested they go to a KTV to sing and play games. Shen Nanxing grabbed his bag, said goodbye to Su Lin, and left first. Fu Zhiyuan had already asked several times how long it would take, mentioning that it was raining outside and he was waiting for him downstairs.
It was already deep autumn, and the rain was falling from the sky. As Shen Nanxing stepped out of the restaurant, a gust of cold wind blew towards him, making him shiver uncontrollably. An autumn rain brought a chill; it seemed it was time to add a layer of clothing. Shen Nanxing hid under the eaves, his round eyes scanning the area, looking for Fu Zhiyuan’s car.
At that moment, Fu Zhiyuan appeared in the rain, holding a black umbrella and walking toward him. As the tall, upright figure slowly approached, Shen Nanxing felt a shadow cast in front of him. Fu Zhiyuan tilted the umbrella toward him, “You’re down, why didn’t you tell me?” Shen Nanxing looked up at him, “I thought the rain wasn’t heavy.” When he was upstairs just now, the rain really wasn’t that heavy!
Fu Zhiyuan took off his suit jacket and draped it over Shen Nanxing’s shoulders, his tone gentle yet firm, “Put it on, don’t catch a cold.” The warmth of his jacket immediately made Shen Nanxing feel warmer. Shen Nanxing could smell the faint scent of wood from Fu Zhiyuan’s clothes, which surrounded him. He shivered slightly and muttered, “Thank you.”
Seeing that Shen Nanxing didn’t refuse, Fu Zhiyuan felt a sense of satisfaction. He held the umbrella for him, his eyes filled with affection. “Let’s go.” Once in the car, Shen Nanxing instantly felt much warmer. Fu Zhiyuan opened the storage compartment, took out a clean towel, and handed it to him. “Wipe your hair first.”
Shen Nanxing took the towel and thanked him, casually wiping his hair. Even though they had an umbrella, the wind had still blown some rain on them. After wiping his head, Shen Nanxing handed the towel back to Fu Zhiyuan, intending for him to put it away. However, Fu Zhiyuan took the towel and naturally began using it himself.
Shen Nanxing froze for a moment, his expression blank. Fu Zhiyuan looked at him, confused. “Xing Bao, what’s wrong?”
Shen Nanxing pointed at the towel in his hand. “This… this one, I just used it.”
“I don’t mind. Xingbao, do you mind?” Fu Zhiyuan chuckled lightly, his voice carrying a hint of amusement.
“I don’t think like that,” Shen Nanxing explained dryly. Although it’s no big deal for two grown men to share a towel, somehow it feels a bit strange. Shen Nanxing lowered his head, looking at the clothes in his hands, but his mind was filled with confusion.
The car fell into silence, only the sound of raindrops gently tapping on the car window could be heard. Perhaps because of the rainy, slippery road, Fu Zhiyuan drove slowly and steadily. Shen Nanxing gazed out at the rain, his eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and he eventually fell asleep.
While waiting at a red light, Fu Zhiyuan draped his jacket over Shen Nanxing’s shoulders.
“Xingbao, we’ve arrived.” Fu Zhiyuan said softly, carefully parking the car by the roadside. He gazed at Shen Nanxing’s sleeping face, reluctant to wake him up.
Shen Nanxing, immersed in his dreams, heard someone calling him. He muttered unhappily, “Mom, I don’t have an early class today, let me sleep a little more.”
Fu Zhiyuan heard this and smiled indulgently. He gently shook Shen Nanxing’s shoulder. “Xingbao, would you like to see where you are?”
Shen Nanxing rubbed his sleepy eyes. In front of him was Fu Zhiyuan’s handsome face, magnified. He exclaimed, “Ah, sorry! I fell asleep by accident.”
“Let’s head home, it’s already late.” Fu Zhiyuan said, unbuckling Shen Nanxing’s seatbelt.
Shen Nanxing felt incredibly embarrassed. He had fallen asleep so unguardedly in Fu Zhiyuan’s car, and worse, he had called him “Mom”! Ahh, how embarrassing! Shen Nanxing’s face burned, and he couldn’t bring himself to look Fu Zhiyuan in the eye. He hurriedly opened the car door, muttered a “Thank you,” and quickly fled.
Fu Zhiyuan watched Shen Nanxing’s retreating figure, a nostalgic smile appearing on his face. He murmured softly, “Xingbao, you’re so cute.”
Shen Nanxing returned to his room, drank a large glass of water, and calmed himself down. He sighed in frustration, “Why do I always embarrass myself in front of Fu Zhiyuan? I don’t even know how to behave around him!”
At that moment, his phone dinged. It was a message from Fu Zhiyuan, saying that Shen Nanxing had left something behind.
Something? Shen Nanxing was still a bit dazed and asked what it was.
Fu Zhiyuan sent a picture—it was his bag.
He had been so focused on getting out of the car quickly that he had forgotten about the bag in the backseat. But the bag wasn’t the most important thing. What mattered most was the clothes inside it.
Shen Nanxing slapped his forehead in regret and quickly replied to Fu Zhiyuan, asking him not to touch anything inside the bag.
Fu Zhiyuan responded with a simple “Okay,” then reminded him not to forget about naming the little kitten.
Thinking about the cute cat, Shen Nanxing’s heart felt a little more at ease.
As the night grew deeper, the rain showed no sign of stopping and instead intensified. After the afternoon performance, Xia Zimu finally relaxed a bit. The moment he was held by Fu Chengyu was truly torturous. If it had lasted any longer, he wasn’t sure what would have happened next. However, the one comforting thought from today was Shen Nanxing wearing women’s clothes.
Xia Zimu looked at the photo of Shen Nanxing on his phone, a trace of a smile flashing in his eyes.
He couldn’t wait to forward the photo to Zhou He, eager to show off. When he saw that Zhou He didn’t reply, he immediately called him. After a long while, Zhou He finally answered the phone. Xia Zimu spoke with a proud expression, “Zhou He, it’s such a pity you didn’t come to school today, you have no idea…” Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by an angry shout from the other end of the line.
“Do you even know how to respect people? Why the hell are you picking up the phone while I’m talking to you? Can’t you tell the difference between the situation? You really have no manners!”
Xia Zimu frowned upon hearing the loud scolding. “Did you get scolded again?”
Zhou He calmly replied, “It’s fine, I’m used to it.” His gaze fell on the angry man in front of him, his eyes flickering with a trace of disdain. The man seemed enraged by Zhou He’s indifferent attitude and grabbed the ashtray from the table, throwing it at Zhou He. The ashtray hit Zhou He’s shoulder with a dull thud, then fell to the ground and shattered into pieces.
Xia Zimu heard the chaotic noise on the phone, startled, and thought the two had started fighting. He quickly said, “Wait for me,” hung up, and rushed to the Zhou family’s house.
