It turned out that Xia Zimu wasn’t involved in a regular car accident but an incident during a club race. At the time, the club was short-staffed, and he was practicing alone on the track. When taking a turn, he lost control due to excessive speed, and the car flipped. The heavy motorcycle, weighing several hundred kilograms, landed directly on his leg. When the club staff found him, Xia Zimu was already unconscious. Zhou He had just called his phone, which is why he was the first one to rush to the hospital.
After hearing this, Shen Nanxing felt something was off. He had a sense that the situation wasn’t as simple as it seemed. “This incident needs to be properly investigated,” he said.
Zhou He nodded in agreement, silently acknowledging that he also intended to investigate further.
Shen Nanxing, curious, looked at him. “But when did you start liking him?”
Zhou He paused for a moment, his eyes reflecting nostalgia. “I’ve liked him since high school.” In fact, he couldn’t quite recall exactly when he started liking Mu Mu. It might have been even earlier than high school, but back then, he didn’t realize that it was love.
Shen Nanxing was shocked. He had liked him since high school? But wasn’t the story in the novel that they both liked Lin Bai? And what was going on with that? Looking at Zhou He, he didn’t seem like he was lying, either. So what was happening? The situation was becoming harder to understand…
Furrowing his brows, Shen Nanxing asked seriously, “You liked Xia Zimu that early? Then what about Lin Bai? What do you think of him?”
At the mention of Lin Bai, Zhou He took a moment to remember who he was. A trace of disgust flashed in his eyes, and he said coldly, “He’s just an insignificant stranger.”
Shen Nanxing immediately felt relieved. It seemed like a rival was truly turning into a lover. The only question now was whether Xia Zimu liked Zhou He… He patted Zhou He’s shoulder, speaking in a tone like that of a family member. “Good luck, I approve of this marriage.”
Zhou He’s tense expression softened a little, and he thanked him. “Thank you.”
Shen Nanxing winked at him. “I’ll be watching you!”
When they returned to the hospital room, Qiao Yun seemed to be feeling a bit better. “Nanxing, you and Xiao He can head back. We’ll stay here with him.”
Zhou He immediately refused. “Auntie, I’m not leaving.”
Shen Nanxing knew Zhou He would say that. He wouldn’t be able to relax unless he saw Xia Zimu wake up. But with him staying here, it didn’t seem like it would help much. After thinking for a moment, Shen Nanxing bid farewell to Qiao Yun and the others. “Alright, Uncle and Auntie, I’ll head back now. I’ll come see Mu Mu tomorrow.”
Xia Zhenyu gave a slight nod. “Nanxing, you head back safely.”
“Okay.”
By the time Shen Nanxing left the hospital, it had already gotten dark. He was looking at his phone, preparing to hail a cab, when a deep voice suddenly called out from above, “Xingbao.”
Shen Nanxing looked up in surprise to see the man standing before him, smiling gently. “You’re looking dazed.”
“You came?” Shen Nanxing asked, his face full of surprise.
Fu Zhiyuan, familiar as ever, hugged him and nuzzled his cheek against his neck. “I missed you.”
Shen Nanxing was startled by his spoiled tone and actions. “Stop acting so out of character!” he thought. “Is this your new thing now?” He sighed, hugging Fu Zhiyuan back. “Have you been possessed by a marshmallow lately?”
Fu Zhiyuan pretended to be angry and poked his nose. “Is that so bad?”
“Having to keep our relationship a secret is already tough enough for me. Now, even hugging you is forbidden?” He looked at Shen Nanxing with an accusatory expression.
Shen Nanxing’s face darkened. He hadn’t realized it, but Fu Zhiyuan definitely had the potential to be a “green tea” type. He corrected him, “What underground relationship? Don’t use words like that!”
Fu “Green Tea” Zhiyuan lowered his gaze, his tone dejected. “If you won’t let me make our relationship public, isn’t that just an underground relationship?”
Shen Nanxing was exasperated. “Fu Zhiyuan, stop acting!” When did he ever say he couldn’t be public about their relationship? He had only asked to wait a little longer.
“If my brother finds out now, won’t all hell break loose?” Fu Zhiyuan couldn’t help but laugh, poking Shen Nanxing’s puffed-up face with his finger and softly coaxing, “You’re so easy to tease. Xingbao, I’ll listen to you—whenever you’re ready to go public, we will.” Shen Nanxing huffed proudly, “That’s more like it.” Fu Zhiyuan immediately picked him up and put him in the car. “It’s cold outside; let’s get in first!” Today, the driver was driving, and both Shen Nanxing and Fu Zhiyuan were sitting in the back seat. Fu Zhiyuan quickly and skillfully raised the divider. He extended his arm and pulled Shen Nanxing over, letting him lean on his shoulder. Shen Nanxing obediently leaned on his shoulder and yawned. “I’m so tired!” Fu Zhiyuan patted his head. “Tired? Then rest on me for a bit.” Shen Nanxing shook his head. “I don’t really feel like sleeping.”
“How is Xia Zimu?” Fu Zhiyuan actively brought up the topic. Upon mentioning Xia Zimu, a trace of concern appeared in Shen Nanxing’s eyes. “It’s a bit serious, he’s still not awake.” “The doctor said his leg will take a long time to heal…” Fu Zhiyuan took his hand and interlocked their fingers. “Star Bao, don’t worry too much. He’ll be fine!” “But you,” Shen Nanxing said, looking at him, “You look so worried, it makes me feel bad.” Shen Nanxing lowered his head and saw the red string on his wrist. He suddenly remembered what Xie Ling had said to him earlier that day.
“I heard this red string is for couples. What about the other one?” He asked curiously, looking at Fu Zhiyuan. Fu Zhiyuan, with his well-defined fingers, gently rubbed his pale wrist. A hint of desire flickered in his eyes as he hoarsely spoke, “There’s only this one.” Shen Nanxing saw that his expression didn’t seem like he was lying and believed him. “I told you it wasn’t for couples, but my friend wouldn’t believe me.” Fu Zhiyuan laughed lightly in agreement, though inside, he felt a bit guilty. He couldn’t exactly tell Xingbao that the reason there was only one bracelet was because he had wasted the others. This was the most beautifully made one; the others were too ugly, and they were still sitting in his study drawer…
“Xingbao, let’s not think about that right now. Let me recharge for a bit.” Shen Nanxing was still wondering about the “recharge,” when Fu Zhiyuan leaned down and kissed him, not giving him a chance to refuse. Unlike Fu Zhiyuan’s usual cold and distant demeanor, his kiss was domineering and passionate. Soon, Shen Nanxing was kissed so deeply that he felt weak all over, his cheeks flushed, and he looked at Fu Zhiyuan with misty eyes. Fu Zhiyuan, seeing him like that, felt a fire ignite inside him but had to restrain himself. He covered Shen Nanxing’s eyes with his hand and sighed heavily, “This is killing me.”
Shen Nanxing’s vision was suddenly blocked, and his lashes fluttered unconsciously, his heart rate quickening. His voice was tinged with nervousness as he asked, “What… what are you going to do?” Fu Zhiyuan, unwilling to let Shen Nanxing see the intense possessiveness in his eyes, spoke in a low, magnetic voice, “Be good.” As soon as his words fell, Shen Nanxing felt a sharp pain on his neck. Fu Zhiyuan bent down and bit his neck, then slowly began to lick the spot. Shen Nanxing felt the area he had been bitten burning with heat, the warmth spreading throughout his body…
