Every time Xia Zimu competed, he overshadowed Gao An, almost stealing all his limelight. Even the girl Gao An liked started to develop feelings for Xia Zimu after watching one of his races. This made Gao An extremely jealous, and he couldn’t accept it. Fu Chengyu patted his shoulder, “But I have more faith in you. You’ll definitely be better than Xia Zimu!”
“If something were to happen to him, it wouldn’t be impossible. Don’t you think so?” Fu Chengyu pressed his hand on Gao An’s shoulder, his words full of hints.
It was then that Gao An realized the purpose of Fu Chengyu’s invitation. “Senior Fu, could this…?”
Fu Chengyu knew what he was concerned about and reassured him, “Don’t worry, it’s just a small lesson for him. Let him suffer a little pain, that’s all.”
“As long as I’m here, they won’t be able to do anything to you.”
Although Gao An hesitated, he felt reassured by Fu Chengyu’s backing and the power behind him. “Senior Fu, I know what to do now.”
Fu Chengyu smiled contentedly. “Remember to keep it discreet.”
Afterward, Gao An went to Fengye Club for three consecutive days. Officially, he was there to practice his racing skills, but in reality, he was studying the layout of the club’s surveillance system. He knew that Xia Zimu’s motorcycle was regularly checked and repaired, so he took the opportunity to get close to the staff during a scheduled maintenance. He watched the entire repair process and even suggested parking Xia Zimu’s motorcycle in a spot with a surveillance blind spot.
Thinking everything was ready, he loosened the motorcycle’s brake pads during the lunch break. After completing the task, he felt excited at first, but the next day, he began to have second thoughts and feared what would happen if someone got hurt. Fortunately, on the day of the motorcycle race, Xia Zimu didn’t show up. Gao An thought that after the race, the staff could check Xia Zimu’s bike again, so there wouldn’t be an accident. However, things didn’t go as planned. Due to Xia Zimu’s absence, Gao An won first place. Overjoyed, he celebrated by getting drunk, completely forgetting about what he had done. When he remembered, Xia Zimu had already gotten into an accident.
With tears in his eyes, Gao An confessed and said remorsefully, “Sir, I really didn’t mean it. I didn’t expect things to get this serious. I’ll go apologize to Senior Xia right away. I…”
Zhou He jumped up from his chair in anger, pointing at Gao An’s nose, “What qualifications do you have to apologize? You’re a murderer waiting to be happen. Just wait for your prison sentence!”
Thinking about the involvement of Fu Chengyu, Zhou He’s eyes turned red with rage, his fists clenched tightly. “Fu Chengyu, don’t think you’ll get away with this.” Anyone who harmed Mu Mu would have to pay the price!
Gao An shook his head repeatedly, pushing all the blame onto Fu Chengyu. “It was all Fu Chengyu’s idea! It’s not my fault! Sir, you have to clear my name!”
Seeing how shameless Gao An was, Zhou He was about to punch him again, but one of the police officers restrained him. “What are you doing? This is the police station. Calm down!”
Another officer, looking stern, lectured Zhou He, “Even though you’re standing up for your friend, hitting someone is wrong. You won’t be leaving today unless your family comes to bail you out!”
The assistant, overhearing that the CEO might be locked up, lost his composure. “Officers, this is a different matter. We’re here to deal with Gao An, right?”
The officer coldly reprimanded him, “Who says these things can’t be handled together?”
The assistant fell silent immediately.
Zhou He calmly took out his phone. “Alright, then you can help me make this call.” He dialed Fu Zhiyuan’s number and handed the phone to the officer beside him.
The assistant panicked inside, thinking that if the chairman found out that both he and the CEO were at the police station, he might lose his job.
When Fu Zhiyuan received the call from Zhou He, a hint of surprise flashed across his face. “Hello, is this a family member of Zhou He?”
He paused slightly, glancing at Shen Nanxing’s hand. “What’s going on?”
“We are from the Nanshi Police Station. Zhou He got into a fight and needs a family member to come down.”
“Police station?” Fu Zhiyuan furrowed his brow, confused.
Zhou He had always been calm and composed, so it was uncharacteristic of him to get into a fight. This impulsive behavior was nothing like his usual style.
“Yes, it’s the police station. Please hurry up and come!” Shen Nanxing, upon hearing the words “police station,” looked at him curiously. “What happened?”
Fu Zhiyuan glanced at Xia Zimu, who was lying on the bed, and spoke in a calm and composed manner. “The police at the station said Zhou He got into a fight. They called me about it.”
Xia Zimu, with his sharp ears, immediately became anxious when he heard Zhou He’s name. “Uncle, what happened to Zhou He? Why did he get into a fight?”
Fu Zhiyuan, still holding onto the grudge from earlier, had a somewhat mischievous expression. “I don’t know.”
“Uncle, how could you not know?” Shen Nanxing pinched his waist. “What exactly happened? Tell me!”
“Xingbao, we’ll only know the full details when we get to the police station,” Fu Zhiyuan said, looking innocently at Shen Nanxing.
“Then let’s go quickly!” Xia Zimu was extremely anxious. He regretted not being able to walk after the accident, feeling helpless and frustrated. He could only wait and worry.
Shen Nanxing grabbed Fu Zhiyuan’s hand. “Don’t worry, we’ll go right now. We’ll keep in touch by phone.”
“Alright.” Xia Zimu watched them leave the hospital room and then pressed the call bell beside his bed. Before the nurse came in, Qiao Yun and Xia Zhenyu arrived first.
Xia Zimu looked at them as if he had seen a savior. “Mom, you came at the right time! Please give me my phone.”
Qiao Yun thought for a moment. “Your phone isn’t with me. Xiao He took it.”
Xia Zimu, now panicked, shouted, “Why did he take my phone?!”
The couple looked at him, puzzled by his urgency. “What’s wrong? Why are you so worked up? Xiao He said your phone screen was broken and he was going to get you a new one. He also planned to transfer all the important data from your phone.”
Xia Zimu was desperate to know what had happened to Zhou He. But not wanting to tell Qiao Yun and Xia Zhenyu the full story, he reluctantly said, “Mom, can I borrow your phone for a bit?”
Qiao Yun, upon hearing this, handed him her phone. Xia Zimu took it and quickly dialed a series of numbers. After several beeps, no one answered the phone. “Damn Zhou He, why won’t you pick up? Are you trying to kill me with worry?”
As he continued dialing, Xia Zimu couldn’t help but mutter to himself. He was worried that the reason Zhou He was at the police station was because of a fight with Zhou Fu. He hoped that wasn’t the case. After all, if Zhou He was in trouble, why did he call Fu Zhiyuan?
Xia Zimu tried calling twice more, but no one answered. When he tried again, Zhou He’s phone was already turned off.
