Dressed as a Cannon Fodder White Moonlight, I Attracted a Big Shot from the Capital Circle Chapter 96 – Just a Fake

Fu Zhiyuan was in a good mood today, so he let his assistant leave early. He drove and took Shen Nanxing back to the villa in Xiangjiang. This was his true home, unlike the Fu family’s old house, where he preferred the tranquility and comfort of this place. Shen Nanxing followed him inside.

At the entrance, Fu Zhiyuan bent down, took a pair of slippers from the shoe rack, and knelt down to carefully put them on for Shen Nanxing. His hands were broad and warm as he held Shen Nanxing’s ankle, his movements focused and solemn. Shen Nanxing felt a bit awkward and softly refused, “I can do it myself.” But Fu Zhiyuan seemed not to hear him. He gently said, “It’ll be quick.”

Shen Nanxing gave up on insisting and quietly thanked him. After changing the shoes, Shen Nanxing looked around, trying to find the cat, “Where’s the cat?” He hadn’t forgotten the purpose of coming here.

Fu Zhiyuan smiled indulgently. “Upstairs.”

Just then, Aunt Chen, who had just finished cleaning the room, came downstairs. She looked at the two of them in the living room with some surprise. “Mr. Fu, you’re off work so early today?” Usually, he would still be working at this time.

Aunt Chen was Fu Zhiyuan’s housekeeper, responsible for daily cleaning and shopping. Fu Zhiyuan responded with a simple “Mm.”

Aunt Chen looked at Shen Nanxing beside him, and there was a hint of understanding in her eyes. “Mr. Fu, if there’s nothing else, I’ll leave for the day?”

Fu Zhiyuan nodded. “Alright.”

Soon, Aunt Chen left the villa. Shen Nanxing, looking curious, asked, “A house this big, do you live here alone?” It seemed too lonely.

Fu Zhiyuan chuckled lightly, a teasing look in his eyes. “If my wife were living with me, then I wouldn’t be alone.”

Shen Nanxing had already gotten used to Fu Zhiyuan calling him his wife. He glared at Fu Zhiyuan helplessly. “Dream on!”

Fu Zhiyuan wrapped his arm around Shen Nanxing’s waist, and they walked toward the stairs. Shen Nanxing immediately became unhappy. “Didn’t you say we were going to get the cat and then go eat? Why are we going upstairs now?”

Fu Zhiyuan, with an unchanged expression, replied, “No hurry. Don’t you want to catch up with the cat?”

It turned out that the cat had its own cat room, complete with a cat tree for it to play with. Not only that, but it also had a special wardrobe full of small clothes.

Shen Nanxing, seeing Cotton Candy sleeping in its cat bed, tiptoed, afraid to disturb its sleep. But Fu Zhiyuan, as its owner, wasn’t as considerate. He reached out and lightly patted Cotton Candy’s head. “Are you a pig? Your brother’s here and you’re still sleeping!”

Cotton Candy, who had been sleeping soundly, was abruptly woken up, looking confused. It immediately hissed at Fu Zhiyuan as if venting its displeasure.

“Meow meow meow meow!” (Are you even human?!)

Shen Nanxing finally had the chance to indulge in petting the cat, and his heart nearly melted from how cute Cotton Candy was. His tone was very gentle. “Cotton Candy, hi there!”

Cotton Candy meowed in response, and Shen Nanxing immediately picked it up and snuggled it against him. “Cotton Candy, you’re so good! Do you remember me?”

Cotton Candy, sensing his familiar scent, meowed a few times and rubbed its face against his neck before resting on his shoulder, not moving.

Shen Nanxing held it with one arm while gently grooming it with the other hand. Cotton Candy enjoyed it so much that its eyes were almost closed.

The two of them, one person and one cat, completely ignored Fu Zhiyuan’s presence. Fu Zhiyuan clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction. “Wife, am I invisible to you?”

Shen Nanxing, feeling the softness of Cotton Candy’s fur, was in a great mood. “Didn’t you say you wanted me to catch up with the cat?”

Fu Zhiyuan, seeing Cotton Candy in Shen Nanxing’s arms, felt an itch of jealousy. He walked over and took the cat from Shen Nanxing’s arms, placing it on the floor. “It’s too fat, it needs some exercise. Don’t hold it all the time.”

Cotton Candy immediately started jumping up and down in anger: “Meow meow meow meow meow#@%!”

Shen Nanxing couldn’t help but laugh, although he couldn’t understand what Cotton Candy was saying, it must have been something pretty harsh.

Fu Zhiyuan’s face darkened, and he once again regretted buying this cat. “This rebellious child!”

Shen Nanxing laughed, his eyes narrowed in delight. “Your cat’s quite lively, huh?”

Fu Zhiyuan spoke in a very mournful tone. “Wife, it cursed at me!”

Cotton Candy: ??? (Isn’t anyone gonna buy me some peanuts?!)

Shen Nanxing coughed lightly. “It’s your son. What did you expect from it?”

Lin Bai returned to the hospital room with hatred in his eyes, his hands empty.

“Ah Bai, weren’t you going to get the medicine?” The woman lying on the bed looked frail, her face filled with confusion.

“Ah Bai?” The woman reached out and tugged at his sleeve. Lin Bai snapped out of his daze, as if waking from a dream. “Mom, what’s wrong?”

The woman looked at him strangely. “Didn’t you go downstairs to the pharmacy to get the medicine?”

Lin Bai’s face stiffened as he forced a smile. “Mom, the nurse has finished her shift. I’ll go later.”

The woman, feeling pity, held his hand. “Ah Bai, you’ve been taking care of me these past few days.”

Lin Bai shook his head, impatience flickering in his eyes. After a moment, he excused himself by saying he had school matters to attend to and left the hospital.

He arrived at an apartment building and rang the doorbell. No one answered, but Lin Bai didn’t leave. Instead, he continued pressing the doorbell stubbornly.

Fu Chengyu opened the door impatiently. Upon seeing Lin Bai, his eyes filled with mockery. “What do you want?”

The attitude didn’t affect Lin Bai’s mood. Lin Bai put on an innocent smile. “Aren’t you going to invite me in?”

Recently, Fu Chengyu had been having a tough time. First, his parents divorced, and he was forced to move out of the Fu family house, losing his identity as the eldest son. Then, every time he went out, he would be beaten up by a group of people. They were well-trained, always managing to avoid the surveillance cameras, and took him to isolated places to beat him up. He couldn’t even file a police report because there were no witnesses. When he went for a medical check-up, the doctor said the injuries were just superficial, looking like he had fallen, not like he had been beaten. This infuriated him, and for the first time, he experienced what it was like to suffer in silence. If he were still the young master of the Fu family, who would dare treat him like this?

As he thought about this, Fu Chengyu felt an unprovoked resentment toward Bai Mengqi. If it weren’t for her, he wouldn’t have lost everything. He had been scared by those people recently, afraid that the moment he stepped out of the door, they would throw a sack over him and start beating him up. He hadn’t even gone to school recently, and didn’t have the energy to think about Lin Bai.

He glanced at Lin Bai, growling impatiently, “If you have nothing to say, just leave!”

Lin Bai brushed past him and entered the room. “Chengyu, do you even dislike my face now?”

Fu Chengyu sneered. “Just a fake. What’s there to like?”

His words completely shattered Lin Bai’s emotional defenses. “Fu Chengyu, do you really like Shen Nanxing that much?”

Thinking of Shen Nanxing, a hint of nostalgia flickered in Fu Chengyu’s eyes. Lin Bai looked at him with sarcasm, “Hahahaha, Fu Chengyu, you really are infatuated. Don’t you know the person you’re obsessed with has already gotten together with another man?!”
