Chapter 3: It Would Be a Shame to Be a Woman If I Couldn’t Sleep with Gu Zhiyan in This Lifetime
“Marry me.”
The man turned the card in his hand, his posture relaxed and natural. His thin lips parted slightly, speaking casually as if saying the weather was nice today.
His words, however, caused Jian Yao to stumble back in surprise.
Seeing her unsteady, Gu Zhiyan unconsciously extended the hand holding the card a little. When he saw her quickly regain her balance and her straight back relax slightly, he continued.
“You should know that my family is very eager for me to get married.”
Jian Yao nodded, her red lips slightly pursed.
Although the Jian family and the Gu family were not on the same level and didn’t interact much, she had heard about the Gu family’s relentless pressure on Gu Zhiyan to marry.
Logically, with Gu Zhiyan’s family background, abilities, and looks, women would be throwing themselves at him like fish in a river.
But for all these years, not only had he never dated, he hadn’t even been close to any girls. Rumors in the circle whispered that he was gay.
The Gu family’s hellish level of marriage pressure undoubtedly further confirmed this.
Thinking about this, Jian Yao unconsciously glanced at Gu Zhiyan.
His long, straight legs were encased in tailored trousers, his shoulders broad and his waist narrow, a perfect nine-headed body proportion.
She suddenly remembered a bold statement from her university roommate years ago, “It would be a shame to be a woman if I couldn’t sleep with Gu Zhiyan in this lifetime!”
Jian Yao thought blankly, even in the gay community, wouldn’t he be top-tier?
I wonder if he’s the top or the bottom?
Jian Yao’s thoughts drifted, and she inadvertently looked up, meeting Gu Zhiyan’s deep eyes.
“…”
Help! What was she thinking?
Jian Yao hurriedly looked away, clearing the unhealthy thoughts from her mind. She cleared her throat with a light cough, trying to appear calm.
“Wouldn’t that be too much of a loss for Mr. Gu?”
Engagement and marriage, though only one character different, were worlds apart.
With the Gu family’s background, both getting married and getting divorced were no small matters.
Making such a decision so casually seemed a bit too rash, right?
“No.” Gu Zhiyan leaned back casually on the sofa, his collarbone faintly visible. “The Gu family doesn’t need a marriage alliance.”
He paused for two seconds and said softly, “Besides, if I get married, my business partners will feel more at ease.”
Jian Yao nodded repeatedly, showing that she understood completely.
With Gu Zhiyan’s family background, he certainly didn’t need to sell his looks for a marriage alliance.
As for making his business partners feel more at ease, Jian Yao also knew a bit about that.
Gu’s business partners were almost all male CEOs, and the rumors of Gu Zhiyan’s preference for men were rampant, causing quite a few partners to be apprehensive.
It was said that many CEOs who collaborated with Yao Guang had switched their secretaries from petite, beautiful women to handsome young men.
Jian Yao held onto her bag strap, her heart pounding. She felt like she should just agree.
A rich, handsome, powerful husband who also liked men, what was the difference between him and a perfect ATM?
He wouldn’t even be able to have a child out of wedlock, what a perfect partner!
It perfectly fit the current dating standards of young people!
Who wouldn’t like an ATM?
Marrying Gu Zhiyan could not only solve her immediate problems, but it could also slap Lu Chengze in the face and suppress the company executives who were becoming restless after her parents’ passing.
It was a win-win situation.
But Jian Yao, who had grown up in an orphanage and witnessed the coldness of the world, didn’t believe in pie falling from the sky.
If it did, it was probably poisoned.
Gu Zhiyan’s eyes seemed to be able to read people’s minds, seeing through Jian Yao’s thoughts in an instant. He patiently explained.
“My grandmother is old and in poor health. Seeing me get married is her biggest wish. If Ms. Jian agrees, we can sign a prenuptial agreement.”
Gu Zhiyan was a competent businessman. When he adopted a business-like attitude, he was incredibly convincing.
At least, at this moment, Jian Yao’s anxiety subsided.
For someone like Gu Zhiyan, a man of privilege, money and status were no longer important. The only thing that could make him compromise was probably family.
