Chapter 51: Jian Yao Sued Lu Chengze
The moment Jian Yao thought about Gu Zhiyan almost being hit, the rationality in her mind almost burned away.
A surge of intense anger welled up in her heart.
She directly unbuckled her seatbelt and pushed the door open, “Lu Chengze! What are you going crazy about?”
“Do you know that car accidents can kill people!”
If that collision had been real, if anything had happened to Gu Zhiyan, Jian Yao couldn’t even imagine…
Gu Zhiyan had somehow already stood behind Jian Yao, soothingly holding her hand.
Wu Yue was practically sitting on the ground, dragging Lu Chengze’s leg with no regard for his image.
Seeing the two of them holding hands in front of Lu Chengze, he almost bit his teeth into pieces.
He knew they were very much in love, but could they not show off in front of the neurotic Lu Chengze?
Didn’t he see that Lu Chengze was more difficult to deal with than a pig during the New Year?
Sure enough, the next second.
Lu Chengze’s gaze swept over Jian Yao and Gu Zhiyan’s faces, finally landing on their intertwined hands, as if he had been injected with chicken blood, he jumped up in fury.
“Gu Zhiyan, let go of her!”
Gu Zhiyan looked at the man before him who was completely devoid of reason, his grip on Jian Yao’s hand tightened, “Mr. Lu, I’m holding my wife’s hand, it seems I don’t need your permission, an outsider.”
The words “my wife” accurately stepped on Lu Chengze’s landmine.
“Your wife? She’s clearly my fiancĂ©e, how could she be your wife!” Lu Chengze’s eyes were bloodshot, like a devil crawling back from hell, completely lacking the image of a well-planned and sophisticated gentleman he had before.
This was a bustling area, with two luxury cars blocking the middle of the road, causing a dispute that had already attracted a lot of onlookers and caused some traffic congestion.
Jian Yao didn’t want to be treated like a monkey.
Her face was a small matter, but she cared about the reputation of the Jian family and the reputation of the Gu family.
Jian Yao looked at the crazed Lu Chengze in front of her, closed her eyes, and then spoke.
“Lu Chengze, for the sake of all these years of friendship, there are some things I don’t want to say too harshly, but you should also have some self-awareness.”
She recalled the helplessness she felt when she saw Lin’s assistant say that Lu Chengze had gone to Shanghai and wouldn’t be back for the engagement ceremony, as well as the countless times she had been stood up in the past, and there was a hint of anger in her voice.
“Our relationship ended the moment you left me for Liu Yiyi in Shanghai, if you still have any face left, let’s just end it peacefully.”
After she finished speaking, she held Gu Zhiyan’s hand back, her tone cold, “Also, Gu Zhiyan is my husband, the one I’ve been engaged to and married to, legally recognized.”
“I hope you will show him some respect in the future.”
Lu Chengze stood there, hearing Jian Yao’s words, his whole body trembling.
“I told you, Liu Yiyi cut her wrists, it’s a matter of life and death, why can’t you be understanding?”
Jian Yao suddenly found it a little funny, “Yes, she cut her wrists.”
“Does she have no father or mother? Or is her brother dead? Why does it fall on you, an outsider, to push aside the engagement ceremony to go see her?”
Jian Yao rarely spoke so harshly, but she was truly angered by the shamelessness of Lu Chengze and Liu Yiyi.
“Are you a doctor or a nurse? If you really want to commit suicide, you’re too late, the flowers are already wilted by the time you get there from the capital, right?”
A person who cuts their wrists to commit suicide, goes to work earlier than her, and even has the energy to provoke her, maybe she went to the hospital late, and the wound has healed, right?
Lu Chengze, doesn’t he understand these things?
He doesn’t understand once, twice, three times, countless times, he still doesn’t understand?
Lu Chengze listened to Jian Yao’s accusations, unable to refute them.
But he still wasn’t giving up.
“Then what about you? You got engaged and married to Gu Zhiyan, did you tell me, your official boyfriend?”
Jian Yao and him never broke up, Gu Zhiyan intervened, he was a shameless homewrecker!
Jian Yao “oh”ed, “Lu Chengze, did you ask me when you made Liu Yiyi your personal secretary? Did you ask me when you bought her a house, a car, and transferred money to her?”
Jian Yao shook her head, her face tight. “No.”
“You didn’t even tell me about not attending the engagement party until you were on the plane. So, I changed my engagement partner, why should I tell you?”
Her engagement with Gu Zhiyan wasn’t a secret. Even if Lu Chengze cared a little bit about her situation that day, he wouldn’t have just found out about it now.
So, who was he trying to impress by acting so deeply in love now?
With each sentence Jian Yao uttered, Lu Zhiyan’s shoulders slumped a little more.
“Jian Yao, you weren’t like this before.”
Jian Yao was speechless.
What was she like before?
She had been submissive, putting Lu Chengze first in everything.
So Lu Chengze looked down on her, treated her like dirt, and Liu Yiyi bullied her and schemed against her.
Now, she had finally woken up.
He was standing on the moral high ground again, accusing her of changing.
Jian Yao suddenly felt like talking to him was like talking to a wall. Lu Chengze’s arrogance made him incapable of understanding others.
She lost the desire to communicate with him and took out her phone to call the police. “Hello, is this the police station? I want to report a case…”
Jian Yao sued Lu Chengze.
For attempted murder.
It was already evening when she came out of the police station.
The interrogation shouldn’t have taken that long.
But the Gu family heard about her near-accident with Gu Zhiyan, and both Mrs. Gu and Mrs. Gu rushed to the police station to demand justice.
At the entrance of the police station, Jian Yao stood beside Gu Zhiyan, looking completely deflated.
“Mom, Grandma, it’s my fault. If it wasn’t for me, this wouldn’t have happened.”
Seeing Jian Yao’s pitiful appearance, Mrs. Gu immediately grabbed her hand. “What are you talking about? It’s all his fault, not yours.”
She then glared at Gu Zhiyan beside her. “He’s tough, a little bump won’t hurt him. Besides, he didn’t even hit you, did he?”
Mrs. Gu nodded repeatedly beside her. “The culprit is inside. Don’t beat yourself up, you silly child.”
Thinking of Lu Chengze, Mrs. Gu’s delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly. “But, no one was injured, and the car wasn’t even touched. It’s probably going to be hard to convict him.”
He would probably be bailed out tomorrow at the latest.
Mrs. Gu snorted. “Right? I wish he had bumped Zhiyan lightly, then we could have convicted him and given Yaoyao some satisfaction.”
This devilish remark made Jian Yao’s pupils widen, and she shook her head repeatedly. “No, no.”
Gu Zhiyan moved slightly behind Jian Yao, teasingly saying, “Grandma, do you still want this grandson?”
He had waited so long, and he had just married his wife. He didn’t want to die young!
Mrs. Gu glared at him, wanting to have the young couple stay at the old house for a few days, but she didn’t say anything, thinking they were still shaken.
“Then, your grandma and I will go back first. You two come to the old house to keep grandma company in a few days.”
Jian Yao nodded repeatedly. “Okay.”
After watching the car leave, Gu Zhiyan turned to Jian Yao. “I’ll drive you back?”
Jian Yao nodded obediently.
Along the way, Jian Yao did a lot of mental preparation before speaking. “I’m sorry about what happened today.”
Gu Zhiyan held the steering wheel, his deep eyes looking at the road ahead. “Don’t apologize. It’s not your fault.”
He paused, then said earnestly, “And I’m happy that you didn’t ask me to forgive him, but chose to call the police directly.”
