Chapter 67: Should you go change your clothes first?
The moment she felt weightlessness, Jian Yao instinctively closed her eyes, her delicate brows tightly furrowed.
At that critical moment, a strong arm wrapped around her waist, lifting her up.
But because there was a distance between them, even though Gu Zhiyan’s action was fast enough, Jian Yao still inevitably twisted her ankle.
“Hiss~”
The sudden sharp pain made Jian Yao cry out in pain, fine beads of sweat appearing on her forehead.
Gu Zhiyan steadied her figure, using a little force to make her lean most of her weight on him, looking down at her twisted ankle.
Because it had just been twisted, it wasn’t red or swollen yet, and it was almost impossible to tell from the surface, but looking at Jian Yao’s pained expression, it was obvious that she had sprained it.
Gu Zhiyan’s black eyes dimmed a little, his voice tinged with self-blame, a little listless.
“It should be twisted, my fault.”
If he hadn’t had a sudden whim and deliberately only wrapped a bath towel around himself, he wouldn’t have scared her and caused her to sprain her ankle.
Jian Yao was held in Gu Zhiyan’s arms, practically hanging on to him.
In the panic of almost falling, people have no reason, and their hands will only desperately grab onto everything around them.
Jian Yao was no exception.
So, after the sharp pain in her ankle subsided, the first thing she noticed wasn’t the injury on her foot.
Instead, she was overwhelmed and dizzy by the scene before her.
Her cheek was pressed against Gu Zhiyan’s bare chest muscles, and all she could see was a large expanse of white skin, the corner of the open bathrobe even vaguely revealing a hint of crimson.
Jian Yao’s head “buzzed”, and the string called reason in her mind completely snapped.
It wasn’t until she heard Gu Zhiyan’s self-blaming words that she belatedly found her voice, “It’s not your fault, I was careless.”
She had seen something she shouldn’t have seen, and Jian Yao was incredibly flustered.
Because of her flustered state, her voice was as thin as a mosquito’s whine, her body stiff as a board, she didn’t know where to put her hands and feet, afraid that she would accidentally touch something she shouldn’t.
Gu Zhiyan heard her voice so small, his whole body tense, thinking she was in a lot of pain, he felt even more self-blame.
He leaned down slightly, carefully avoiding touching Jian Yao’s injured ankle as much as possible, and scooped her up in his arms.
Jian Yao was startled by his action, her hands fluttered as she reached up to his neck, her fingertips touching his warm skin, she realized that her action seemed a little out of line, and hesitated to withdraw her hand.
Gu Zhiyan looked down, the hand around her waist tightened, “Don’t move.”
His low voice sounded in Jian Yao’s ear, her fingers that were about to retract curled slightly, and finally didn’t let go.
Gu Zhiyan carried Jian Yao and carefully placed her on the sofa, took a cushion to pad behind her, letting her sit comfortably, and then leaned down to check her injury.
Her white ankle was already swollen.
Jian Yao was uncomfortable being looked at by him, her breath even slowed a little, she forced herself to hide her foot and comfort Gu Zhiyan.
“I’m fine, it’s just a little twist.”
Gu Zhiyan squatted down and carefully examined her injury, “Although it’s not serious, you still need to be careful, I’ll help you massage it, put some ointment on it.”
For the convenience of checking the wound, he was squatting in front of Jian Yao.
The bath towel on him was already loose, and it had been pulled open a little in the rush just now, revealing a large expanse of white skin.
Jian Yao’s gaze lingered on his muscular abs for a few seconds, a faint blush appeared on her fair cheeks, her voice trembled slightly because of her nervousness.
“Should you go change your clothes first?”
Jian Yao tilted her head, feeling that Gu Zhiyan seemed to be oblivious to his own charm.
Wearing this to give her a foot massage, it wasn’t treating her injury, it was testing her self-control and endurance.
Gu Zhiyan had been focusing all his attention on her injured ankle, but when he heard Jian Yao’s words, he looked up at her, his gaze falling on her flushed cheeks and reddened earlobes.
He then looked down at the bathrobe he was wearing, his eyebrows raised slightly, as if he understood something. “Okay, I’ll go change my clothes.”
The injury wasn’t serious, it wouldn’t matter if it was treated a few minutes later.
But if he didn’t go change clothes, someone might get cooked.
Gu Zhiyan got up and walked to the wardrobe, taking out a set of pajamas from the cabinet. As if forgetting about the bathroom and dressing room, he turned to look at Jian Yao. “I’m going to change clothes, okay?”
Jian Yao let out an “ah”, belatedly turning her head and sitting up obediently, wishing she could raise her hand and swear, “I definitely won’t peek.”
Gu Zhiyan looked at her docile, elementary school student posture, a slight smile playing on his lips, and he raised his hand to untie the bathrobe belt.
Jian Yao turned her head but was still uneasy, afraid that she might accidentally see something she shouldn’t, so she simply closed her eyes.
In the silent room.
With her vision blocked, her hearing was amplified infinitely.
Especially the sentence Gu Zhiyan had deliberately reminded her of earlier, “I’m going to change clothes, okay,” it seemed to have a magical effect, swirling around in her mind.
Making her unconsciously try to capture the sounds from behind.
The sound of the bathrobe falling to the floor, the rustling sound of putting on clothes, sounds that she wouldn’t normally pay attention to were all magnified infinitely at this moment.
Jian Yao closed her eyes, her heart pounding, the blush on her face deepened.
When Gu Zhiyan came over after changing his clothes, he saw her with her eyes closed, her long eyelashes like butterfly wings casting a shadow under the light, her face
