Chapter 8: Our Young Master is an Unparalleled Good Man
The place where Yu Nanzheng lived wasn’t a villa, it was a palace.
The Jian family used to be wealthy, and she had grown up living in a large villa, enjoying the finer things in life.
But compared to Yu Nanzheng’s villa, it was nothing short of a world apart.
Everything here shimmered with gold, exuding an air of extravagance. The high ceilings, the colorful stained glass reaching to the roof, the spiral staircase in the center of the entrance hall, all were breathtakingly beautiful.
Further in, there was a reception area.
Then came the living room, so large it was jaw-dropping, perhaps hundreds of square meters.
The dining room was equally vast, with a long rectangular wooden table that could seat over a dozen people.
Jian Hongyou went up to the second floor, where the spiral staircase offered a panoramic view of the entire first floor.
She pulled her suitcase and randomly opened a bedroom door.
There was a bed and mattress, but no bedding.
She checked several rooms, and they were all the same.
It seemed Yu Nanzheng didn’t live here.
The place looked new, but there was a layer of dust, as if it had never been lived in.
She chose a bedroom and put her luggage in.
This room had great natural light, with a view of the locust trees outside.
The design style was also to her liking.
She thought, since Yu Nanzheng didn’t live here, it wouldn’t be a problem for her to stay.
Suddenly, she heard a noise downstairs.
Confused, Jian Hongyou went down.
She saw a dozen or so servants.
An elderly man walked towards her, his expression gentle and respectful. “Miss Jian, I am Liu, the butler. Young Master sent me here. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.”
“Hello, Butler Liu. The rooms don’t have bedding. Could you please have someone prepare some?”
Jian Hongyou didn’t stand on ceremony, stating her request directly.
Butler Liu immediately turned and instructed someone to take care of it.
When Jian Hongyou returned to her room, the bed was already made, with a warm blue floral bed set.
The room had also been cleaned, spotless.
Staying in such a room was sure to lift one’s spirits.
Jian Hongyou threw herself onto the bed, relaxing completely, and fell asleep without realizing it.
When she woke up, it was already three in the afternoon.
There were several missed calls on her phone, from Tang Zazan and Sister Wang.
She returned Sister Wang’s call first.
After answering, Sister Wang told her about the situation at the company.
“Youyou, where are you? I’ll go over, and we can think of something together.”
“Sister Wang, no need. Just take a few days off, rest well, and wait for my call.”
After saying that, Jian Hongyou hung up the phone.
Tang Zazan received Jian Hongyou’s call and burst into tears.
“Youyou, your house was sealed, why didn’t you tell me? Where are you now? Do you have a place to stay? Come live with me, my place is small but cozy, we can both fit in.”
Jian Hongyou laughed, teasingly saying, “Zazan, you should become an actress, your tears come on cue, you definitely have potential.”
Tang Zazan cried while saying, “I was worried sick about you. I went to your house today, and saw the seal on your door, it made me frantic.”
Jian Hongyou had a bad temper and didn’t have many friends. Tang Zazan was one of the few.
She softened her voice, “Don’t worry, I have a place to stay, I’m fine.”
“Really? Don’t be stubborn.”
“Wait, I’ll send you a video to see where I’m staying.”
Then, Tang Zazan kept saying “Wow!”
Jian Hongyou rubbed her ears in annoyance.
“Zazan, can we be a little more civilized?”
“I can’t be civilized, this is where? It’s too luxurious!”
“A palace.”
Tang Zazan wanted to ask more, but Jian Hongyou hung up the phone decisively.
Knowing her friend was staying in such a good place, Tang Zazan was no longer worried.
Jian Hongyou’s stomach was grumbling, so she went downstairs to find something to eat.
Butler Liu saw her coming down and greeted her with a smile.
“Miss Jian, the meal is ready, please come to the dining room.”
Jian Hongyou smiled, “Butler Liu, you are so thoughtful!”
“It’s not us being thoughtful, it’s Young Master’s instructions.”
“Yu Nanzheng?”
Butler Liu nodded vigorously.
As if afraid Jian Hongyou didn’t know.
Jian Hongyou was stunned for a moment, then came to a conclusion.
“Your Young Master has changed a lot over the years.”
Butler Liu nodded again.
“Yes, our Young Master is mature, steady, gentle and considerate, a rare unparalleled good man.”
Butler Liu seized every opportunity to shower his Young Master with praise.
Jian Hongyou remained silent for two seconds, then burst into laughter.
“Butler Liu, you’re exaggerating. If Yu Nanzheng is an unparalleled good man, there are no good men in the world.”
She knew how bad he was when he was in school.
He did all sorts of evil things, taking pleasure in bullying others. And the one he bullied was her.
She didn’t even remember how she had angered him, but Yu Nanzheng would pick on her.
He would pull her braids, throw her sanitary pads on the floor, put earthworms in her schoolbag…
She could write a whole wall full of such incidents.
Butler Liu didn’t know about their past grievances and tried to whitewash Yu Nanzheng.
“Miss Jian, our Young Master is really good…”
Butler Liu sounded a little unconvinced.
“Alright, Butler Liu, I know what your Young Master is like.”
Jian Hongyou’s eyes were drawn to the food, and she walked straight to the dining table.
After a hearty meal, she felt like she was floating.
She leaned back in her chair, rubbing her stomach, her image as an actress completely gone.
Previously, to maintain her figure and look good on camera, she had been dieting.
She hadn’t eaten so much in a long time.
Full and satisfied, she lay on the sofa, playing games and browsing fashion magazines.
Leisurely and carefree.
It was so good to not be working!
A servant brought a plate of cut fruit to her.
“Miss Jian, have some fruit.”
Jian Hongyou put down her phone.
She took a piece of apple and put it in her mouth.
“It’s so delicious, thank you!”
Mother Zhou smiled warmly.
“Miss Jian, you’re welcome. Everyone calls me Mother Zhou, I watched Young Master grow up. I was originally at Yu Mansion, but Young Master brought me here. Miss Jian, if you want to eat anything, just tell me.”
“Okay, Mother Zhou, did anyone live here before?”
“No, this house has been empty since it was finished.”
Jian Hongyou nodded.
The Yu family was incredibly wealthy, with more houses than they could live in, it was normal for some to be empty.
Mother Zhou didn’t bother her anymore, and went about her work.
The next morning, Jian Hongyou woke up early, got ready, and took her household registration and ID card to the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Unexpectedly, Yu Nanzheng arrived before her.
He was wearing a long black coat, his hair neatly combed.
He was leaning against the car, looking thoughtful.
When he saw Jian Hongyou, his eyes fixed on her.
He didn’t speak until she reached him.
“Let’s go in.”
Yu Nanzheng nodded.
They walked into the hall.
They arrived early and didn’t have to queue.
When Jian Hongyou took off her mask and hat, the photographer who was taking wedding photos was stunned.
After the surprise came heartbreak.
His goddess was getting married!
