Chapter 225. Middle East Journey (End) The Ye Family Courtyard’s Apocalypse Stockpile

After a long while, the wounds on Ye Mo’s body had already healed halfway due to her high constitution, while the remaining internal injuries were mostly related to the cold, dark energy.

She tossed three pills into her mouth. The medicine dissolved instantly, followed by a warm current circulating through her body. In about ten minutes, her injuries were mostly healed.

With a quick flip, she was back on her feet

Ye Mo took out an ordinary tent from her storage space, changed out of her tattered camouflage clothes, freshened up briefly, and put on clean, casual attire.

Reattaching her golden mask, she crushed the spatial key and left the Western Desert.

Ye Mo’s spatial coordinates were precisely locked onto the puppet cat in Wang Xue’s hands. When she appeared at the minaret, she saw the girl idly petting the one puppet cat while making another chase its tail in circles, utterly bored out of her mind.

Clearing her throat, she said, “Ahem!”

Hearing the familiar voice, Wang Xue immediately looked up, her eyes lighting up. Without a word, she spread her arms and flew over, giving Ye Mo an enthusiastic bear hug.

“Sister Jing, I missed you so much!”

Ye Mo stretched out her right hand but ultimately didn’t lift the 1.8-meter-tall girl aside. Instead, she patted her back, some things were better left unspoken.

Ji Li’s complexion still looked far from good. A significant portion of the energy he had absorbed remained undigested, leaving him with dark circles under his eyes and purplish lips, giving him an especially gloomy appearance, far worse than Ye Mo’s, even when he smiled.

     “Is it resolved?”

“Resolved,” Ye Mo nodded. “Even if ancient Egypt has other real-world dungeons, they won’t be as severe as this one, they’ll probably be similar to the previous two.”

But they wouldn’t appear in Cairo, Egypt, and it was highly unlikely they’d be in the Sudan pyramid complex, as those two places had already been extensively explored by them.

The minaret was nearly empty now. After all, too much time had passed. Not only had the small and mid-sized survivor teams left, but Bella and Arthur’s groups had also departed during the recent solar eclipse. Among the major factions, only the Indian and Russian teams remained.

Even the core members of the Russian Werewolf Pack were gone. The only one left was Lani Shannon from the Indian women’s group had stayed behind.

Ye Mo couldn’t exactly explain to them that the solar eclipse had been caused by their battle against the sky goddess Nut—a deity ruthless enough to blot out the sun, after Ye Mo had just barely managed to eliminate her husband.

When the remaining survivors heard Ye Mo’s reply”It’s resolved,” they erupted into cheers, their voices a chorus of different languages but all carrying the same overwhelming relief.

The survivor teams from Middle Eastern nations stepped forward, expressing their gratitude to China’s Supernatural Investigation Bureau and especially to Ye Mo. They thanked her not just for her aid, but for shattering millennia-deep beliefs and ideologies about the role of women, forcing many to reflect on how clinging to such errors would only lead to their eventual obsolescence.

Lani Shannon also approached to thank her. Had it not been for Ji Li’s last-minute intervention, she might have perished in Egypt.

She extended another invitation, her Mandarin fluent but tinged with a thick, curry-spiced accent: “Ancient India is also one of the four great cradles of civilization. We have Prithvi, Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Lakshmi, Parvati, Durga, Kali, the Asuras… Surely there are many reality dungeons there. You’re welcome to visit India, I’m certain you’d love it.”

“I’ll visit if the opportunity arises,” Ye Mo replied, clasping her hand in return.

Aside from the Indian women’s team, other survivor groups also seized the opportunity to introduce themselves. Given the currently amicable strategic relations between these factions and China, Ye Mo responded with an awkward yet polite smile—all in the name of world peace.

Not that she needed to bother.

After all, her face was hidden behind a mask. Simply standing there was the most advantageous posture for the Supernatural Investigation Bureau.

Fortunately, the diplomats from each survivor team possessed both high IQ and EQ. They knew better than to overstay their welcome or make things difficult, their goal was merely to make an appearance.

The meeting concluded swiftly, wrapping up in record time. The only real outcome was a dozen or so press photos. though, predictably, the moment the battle ended, the cameras had already stopped capturing close-ups of Ye Mo and her two companions.

Twenty minutes later, the trio and the Bureau members were cleared to leave Egypt and return home.

But as soon as they stepped out of the minaret, they were met by a sea of nearly 100,000 local citizens who had been waiting for hours.

Deafening cheers, thunderous applause, and garbled attempts at Mandarin filled the air, making the scene bustling.

It seemed impossible to move even an inch.

Fortunately, they didn’t need to. With a single hand seal, Ye Mo summoned the Flying Tiger Beast Armor from her storage space. A gust of wind lifted Wang Xue, Ji Li, and the Bureau members one by one, carrying them effortlessly into the armored vessel.

China’s fighter jets were still stranded out there.

Under the cheers of the local Egyptian people, the Flying Tiger Beast flew higher and higher, further and further, until it became a tiny dot and completely vanished from sight.

     …

On the beast armor, Ye Mo roughly described the ancient Egyptian real-world dungeon, including the Nine Fallen Deities, with far more details than in the earlier meeting.

“The feather was destroyed when Osiris fell into the abyss. However, the ‘Book of the Dead’ can be replicated. Perhaps we can create a similar Book of Life and Death or, more accurately, a Book of Death. As for life, I’m still far from comprehending it.”

Everyone else was speechless: …The gap was too vast, there were too many points to critique, and they didn’t know where to start.

But regardless, Ye Mo’s strength once again redefined their understanding. Although Ye Mo mentioned that the fallen gods’ powers were greatly diminished, and some only sought liberation, they were still legendary gods!

A human who fought against gods and won, they no longer knew if she could even be called human.

     It was beyond their comprehension.

Ye Mo, who was almost defined as non-human, furrowed her brow as they neared Chinese airspace and asked, “At 6,845 meters high, can you fly a plane?”

     The pilot was stunned: “No.”

Who could fly a plane directly above 6,000 meters? How was that possible?!

Ye Mo told her it was possible. Such a good opportunity, of course, shouldn’t be wasted.

Therefore, everyone was transferred to the plane, while Ye Mo and a pilot sat in the cockpit. With mental power control, Ye Mo was flying a plane for the first time in her life.

     She didn’t even have a pilot’s license!

However, the dozens of people who had completely entrusted their lives to Ye Mo felt no life-or-death tension. They believed that even if she somehow completely broke the plane, she could still get them safely back to the ground.

So, Ji Li was absorbing energy cross-legged, and Wang Xue even tried to enter the cockpit to cause trouble but was persuaded otherwise by Yin Hong, who talked about a Chinese ancient-style music real-world dungeon.

Inside the cockpit, under the pilot’s guidance, Ye Mo quickly learned the basics of pitch, yaw, and roll. The plane’s structure was also in her mind, and she truly got the plane airborne.

Although the initial process was a bit bumpy and uneven, it was nothing for survivors.

The pilot stared in stunned silence: “……”

Ye Mo was in excellent spirits. Under her control, the aircraft’s flight path became something of an acrobatic display though she wasn’t showing off. She was simply testing the plane’s capabilities to their limits.

Theory and practice were different, and piloting the aircraft had given her a wealth of aerial inspiration.

     “Alright then!”

The pilot finally managed to close his gaping mouth and took his seat, dutifully reporting their wildly erratic flight path to air traffic control with all the professionalism he could muster.

Tower: “Wait—what? Where exactly are you?”

“No need to clear airspace, just make sure other pilots aren’t startled by our plane,” the pilot deadpanned, sounding utterly serious despite the absurdity of his words.

     Tower staff: “…”

Finally, upon arrival at the military airport in Beijing, China, as soon as they exited the vehicle the Supernatural Investigation Bureau immediately offered Ye Mo a gift any aircraft model she wanted, free of charge, and separate from her official rewards.

Actually, tanks, fighter jets, aircraft carriers, rockets, even satellites all were negotiable.

     Ye Mo replied cheerfully: “Thanks.”

After bidding farewell to the Bureau, the trio teleported back to the courtyard of Majing Hutong. Watson was already there, standing amidst a whirlwind of peach blossoms, his smile as gentle as ever. A thousand unspoken words condensed into just one phrase:

     “Welcome back.”

     “Haha, we’re home!”

Wang Xue rushed forward first, giving Watson an enthusiastic bear hug. Even though he hadn’t gone to Egypt, he’d been with them all along—that was what companionship meant.

Ye Mo smiled, and Ji Li also smiled.

During this Ancient Egypt dungeon, Ji Li truly experienced the beauty of having comrades, not just because they were powerful, but because of their priceless friendship.

Amid the warm reunion, Wang Xue suddenly made a suggestion: “Such a day calls for celebration! Should we do it here, or go to the beach? If we choose the beach, the little raptor can come too—”

“Let’s wait until Ji Li’s injuries heal a bit more,” Watson interjected, having immediately noticed Ji Li’s condition. He was already mentally cataloging healing spells and potions effective for necromancers and zombies, while casually adding, “Also, I suggest you all have lunch next door today. We can discuss the rest in the group chat.”

     Ye Mo: “???”

Watson’s reply was blunt: “The news about Ancient Egypt has spread worldwide. Combined with your ‘survivor mission’ dispatch, it wasn’t hard to connect the dots. Grandma Ye, Auntie Zhang, Auntie Wang… they’ve been worried sick.”

This was partly why Watson had stayed in Beijing. Despite his and the government’s reassurances and even Wang Xue’s check-in calls, their families had only pretended to be at ease. How could they truly relax?

Lately, the atmosphere next door has been quite heavy these days.

Ji Li was no exception. Though his family didn’t know he was on a mission for the Supernatural Investigation Bureau, during these potentially apocalyptic times, they couldn’t help but worry about their sole Survivor family member.

Hearing this, Ye Mo nodded at Watson  and Ji Li who was already pulling out his phone then quickened her pace with Wang Xue toward the neighboring courtyard house.

Passing through the gate and around the screen wall, they were met with a courtyard piled high with supplies: generators, rice, canned meat, canned fruit, bottled water, dried fruit, salt, canteens, tissues, tents, hardware tools, ropes, flashlights, and batteries.

And this was just the tip of the iceberg dozens of unopened delivery boxes still littered the courtyard.

Ye Mo’s steps faltered suddenly. “Is this emergency stockpiling?”
