Chapter 35. Irish Town (17) Top Ten Survivors
The tavern is not big, with only about ten tables in total, and half of them are occupied.
Inside the tavern, four or six mercenaries were drinking and singing, three or five men were playing finger-guessing games, or four or six mercenaries were listening to a teammate bragging, causing boos or laughter and scolding. It was very lively.
Due to the difference in average physical strength between men and women, the number of mercenaries in this world is still mostly men.
But the remaining female mercenaries are elite backbones, either magicians or at least intermediate swordsmen. Their strength ensures that there is not a huge disparity in the status of men and women in this world.
In addition, elves, mermaids, and goblins rarely leave their tribes and rarely appear in the tavern. On weekdays, 99.9% of the time, it is a gathering of humans.
Therefore, Ye Mo’s appearance attracted many surprised or curious eyes, making the noise in the tavern a little quieter. It was not until all the Wild Wolf Mercenaries sat down that things slowly returned to normal.
Despite this, there are still gossips and looks from time to time.
“Sorry, Maria.”
Captain Hook and his men deliberately chose a remote tavern, but they didn’t expect that there were more customers here today than usual. These looks made the careless men feel uncomfortable.
“It’s okay.” Ye Mo shook her head indifferently. Ever since she logged into the Survivor app, she had almost gotten used to all kinds of looks. If she had continued to be so pretentious, she would probably have lost her life long ago.
The Wild Wolf Mercenaries often come to this tavern to eat. There is no need to order. The tavern owner has already served a plate of cashews, cakes, fruits and other snacks, as well as the most common iced beer.
Deputy Captain Thomson ordered a full 5 roasted demon sheep. Considering the vegetarian diet of the goblins, he also specially consulted a lot of questions about roasted vegetarian food. The tavern owner also heard of roasted chestnuts for the first time.
Maybe it’s possible?
There aren’t many seasonings in this world. The vegetarian barbecue is fresh and refreshing, with a little bit of spicy flavor. The crispy chestnuts taste at least two levels better when eaten this way.
With ice beer or sweet and sour juice, Ye Mo thinks the taste is unexpectedly good, better than anything she’s eaten before. Wild demon mutton has a strong fishy smell. Watson and Alice are both vegetarians.
Of course, the mercenaries like to stay in the tavern. In addition to eating and drinking, there is another key purpose – the Mercenary Street is full of people, and all kinds of gossip information can be received in time.
It’s equivalent to a news concentration camp.
From which town has a beast tide to the beautiful and seductive proprietress of a certain tavern, you can often find out here.
Ye Mo was not surprised to hear the information about ‘Goblin Maria’ and ‘Potion Shop Assistant’. In the Mercenary Street Tavern, many survivors have become the topic of conversation before and after meals because of their strange behavior.
When Watson was first teleported to this copy, his first reaction was to come to the Mercenary Street to inquire about the news.
After being rejected by a group of mercenaries, he also rejected the invitation of the survivors’ team. He used his knowledge to forge a way out and awakened his second superpower.
Except for the top ten who woke up, the remaining forty people were all ordinary residents of the town like him.
This was the first time Ye Mo heard this: “Top ten?”
“Yes, top ten.”
“Bella, who woke up first, was a magician. She faced the upgrade test directly, and it seemed that she was rejected because it took too long, Arthur, who woke up second, was a potential mercenary in the large Storm Mercenary Group. The two of them formed an alliance with a group of people.”
This is not a secret. It would be a bit strange if you didn’t know anything, but it’s not strange to think that goblins live underground, isolated from the world.
Watson took a sip of beer and continued: “You are the third one to wake up, the most mysterious. The fourth survivor is called Lee. He was driven out by the Magic Association the next day and now joins a mercenary group alone. The fifth has disappeared in the Monster Forest and may be dead… The Japanese man ranked in front is a healing mage…”
“Mysterious?” Ye Mo muttered this adjective under a heavy burden.
“Because you live in the Goblin underground world,” Watson said bluntly,
“even if the sixth person to wake up Indian mermaid Rani Shannon , she became new mermaid reserve soldier of the Irish Town Mermaid Guard, at least she lived on the ground, so it was impossible that she had no news at all. “
“…”
After listening to a circle of names, Ye Mo roughly knew what the other survivors were like now.
Overall, Arthur, who woke up second, was the luckiest and did not have to face a difficult choice at all.
The second one is Rani Shannon, a South Asian Indian. The town guard has a complete training system, including killing monsters. The difficulty lies here. It is not so easy to be a tool man.
This arrangement unexpectedly suits Lani, the woman who was cautious in space. She behaved too obediently and had no self. I wonder if she will change in the future.
The most unlucky person among the top ten may be the Chinese fellow Li. From the space conversation, we know that he is very patriotic?
It is worth mentioning that among the 50 survivors, most white people prefer to be mercenaries against Magic Beast, love adventure, and like freedom. Most yellow people are used to settling down according to the system settings before finding a way out. They like stability and hard work…
National personality is sometimes really engraved in people’s bones.
…
“Maria, Watson, what secrets are you whispering again?”
Alice leaned over, her face was red and dizzy because of drinking. No matter how close she was, she still heard the content as ***** muting. The system’s confidentiality measures are really powerful.
Ye Mo picked up a bunch of roasted purple fruits and handed them to her, changing the subject: “Alice, this tastes good.”
“Right, right, the boss decided to add all these vegetarian roasts to the menu, and he will give us a 30% discount from now on!”
Ye Mo resisted the urge to poke her red cheeks, and agreed seriously: “It seems that the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group can eat more delicious and inexpensive food in the future.”
“Yes, yes, yes!”
Drunk Alice nodded her head like a sieve, her blue eyes as bright as the stars in the sky.
Ye Mo felt that all the girls in this world were so cute, Alice was like this, and so was Lina, except that the latter was more timid and crybaby than the former, but more meticulous. They each had their own advantages.
If it goes on like this, the heart of a weird aunt will be broken sooner or later!
With a smile and blinking twice, Watson threw a cashew nut into his mouth and physically muted himself.
……
After saying goodbye to the Wolf Mercenaries and Watson, Ye Mo went to the Magic Chamber of Commerce and spent 80 silver coins to buy a mid-level intelligence potion. This kind of potion has little market demand and is sold in small quantities.
Then came the test of “thick skin”.
Ye Mo wandered around the store about alchemy supplies and magic circles. She had already listed all the questions about “Basic Theory of Alchemy” that she had studied for seven nights in the Magic Beast Forest, and needed someone to answer them.
If the Magic Association did not allow ordinary people to come, she might have tried it with the alchemists inside. Suddenly, she remembered the days when she was a junior in college and interned at FAW in Luoyang, Henan. If you don’t take the initiative, the teachers will only treat you as someone who comes to eat, drink and have fun.
In order to attend classes, Ye Mo also learned the Henan dialect. After all, some local teachers don’t even speak plastic Mandarin. They speak a bunch of gibberish, which is comparable to the English level 8 professional test.
The memories are over. This kind of “learning” method of casting a wide net may be laughed at or surprised, but as long as there are one or two people willing to answer, no matter if they are kind or just watching the show, it is a victory.
People who are serious always have good luck, although this kind of luck may cost some “money”.
Three people are willing to help answer Ye Mo’s questions.
The first one is a magic apprentice who studies alchemy. He solved a few basic problems and a series of common sense problems.
The second one is an alchemy enthusiast. At first, she just answered the questions politely. Halfway through the problem, she found that Ye Mo could bring her a new idea and became more serious.
In the end, she also recommended a book with a strange name to Ye Mo, “Alchemy’Balance'”.
Although this book is thin, the content is great. It follows the law of conservation of energy as a whole and sorts out most of the alchemy formulas. It is very useful for learning alchemy theory or actually practicing alchemy. Ye Mo bought it for only 75 silver coins.
The third one is David, a low-level magician who already has alchemical works. He looks quite old, with mostly white hair. He is a small manager in the Magic Chamber of Commerce.
The magic array he carved may not be as good as the Goblin Craftsman, and the alchemical products he made are also limited to his personal magic power, But his unexpected mastery of alchemical theory did more than solve the remaining problems.
David looked at Ye Mo and seemed to think of himself:
“Little guy, you have a high talent, I mean in terms of brain, but you still lack magic power after all. High-level magic crystals are very rare. What’s the point of studying more deeply?”
Ye Mo answered carefully: “At least when I was a craftsman, I could understand more than 1+1=2, and I also knew why 1+1 equals 2. Maybe I could improve some magic arrays. How interesting!”
Interest is really a happy thing.
“It’s really interesting.” David smiled, his white beard trembling,
“Good kid, if you have any questions about alchemy in the future, you can come and ask me. Most of the time I am in the Magic Chamber of Commerce.
Ye Mo bowed: “Thank you, respected magician David White.”
Until the sun set, Ye Mo left the Magic Chamber of Commerce reluctantly, put on the black cloak again, and floated to the world of goblins like a ghost.
Uncle Peter, the shopkeeper, Abel, the manager of the living area, and the cute little neighbor Lina…when they saw her on the way, they would warmly welcome her back, which really gave people a sense of belonging to home.
Ye Mo lit the flower-scented candle with the fire magic stone, and then opened all four books.
This time, she did not rush to study the electric magic circle, but put out the broken fire axe, the broken nail shoes, the ordinary backpack, and the cute little yellow duck.
Now an experiment was needed to confirm her conjecture – the knowledge learned in small town Ireland was priceless.
