Chapter 38: Xiaoxiao called my Mom
Before the banquet started, Song’s mother carried two large bowls full of food to the new room.
“Mom.” Tang Xiaoxiao called out shyly.
“Yes, my dear daughter.” Song’s mother smiled brightly.
“Here, I just served this for you two. Eat it while it’s hot.” Song’s mother placed the food on the table. “Xiaoxiao, if it’s not enough, call Xiaolan to get more.”
“It’s enough, it’s enough.” Such a big bowl, with a big chicken leg hidden inside, how could she finish it.
“Then Mom is going out.” She had to go out and entertain the guests.
As soon as Song’s mother left the room, she went to Song’s father with a smile and whispered.
“Xiaoxiao called me Mom.”
Song’s father paused, holding his wine glass. “You’re cheating!”
This task of delivering food was originally supposed to be done by Wu’s aunt. This change of address usually happened after the banquet was over, when they drank the “wife’s tea.”
When they changed their address, they would first call “Dad” and then “Mom.” But Song’s mother had taken the lead.
At the table for honored guests, Tang Mu had already drunk three glasses with Song Jingzhi.
“Xiaoxiao is the apple of our eye. I’m entrusting her to you.” Tang Mu clinked glasses with him again.
Xu Ze Ming and Liu Dong were very perceptive and poured them more drinks.
“She was so tiny when she was born, and now she’s getting married so quickly.” Tang Mu gestured with his hands.
Tang Mu was eight years older than Tang Xiaoxiao. When they were young, Tang’s father and mother were busy with work, so Tang Xiaoxiao was practically raised by Tang Mu.
Tang Xiaoxiao had also told Song Jingzhi about this, so he could understand Tang Mu’s feelings now.
“You have to be good to her, or I’ll go to Tianjin and beat you up.”
“Alright, Tang Mu, Jingzhi still has to toast the guests.” Tang’s father saw his son clinging to his son-in-law and wouldn’t let go, so he spoke up.
The young couple had to go to the city in the afternoon. What if they got drunk?
Tang Mu finally patted Song Jingzhi on the shoulder and let him go.
After a while, Song Jingzhi was helped into the room by Song Wei. His eyes were closed, and his face was flushed.
“Is he drunk?” Tang Xiaoxiao quickly got up and helped him to the bed.
“He drank a bit too much. Second sister-in-law, your big brother can really drink.” Song Wei gave her a thumbs up.
Several of Song’s family members of the same generation couldn’t drink him under the table. Tang Mu and Song Jingzhi had drunk five glasses of wine, two-ounce glasses, which was a whole pound.
His second brother had drunk at least two and a half pounds of wine today, but his second sister-in-law’s big brother must have drunk about the same.
“Second sister-in-law, my second brother sobers up quickly. Don’t worry, he’ll wake up soon.”
After saying that, Song Wei pulled Song Xiaolan out, leaving the room to the young couple. He even thoughtfully closed the door.
“Song Jingzhi?” Tang Xiaoxiao leaned over and poked his face with her finger.
Suddenly, he grabbed her hand, and the world turned upside down as he pressed her down under him.
“Wife, I finally got you to marry me.” He leaned down and whispered in her ear.
She was in a daze, “Aren’t you drunk?”
“I’ll tell you a secret, I have a nickname in the army called ‘Thousand Cups Not Drunk’. I got a little tipsy from the wind while toasting at the tables in the courtyard, but I sobered up.”
He said, leaning down and biting her ear.
“Ouch…” Tang Xiaoxiao gasped, pushing him away.
“Don’t be silly, there are still guests outside.”
“The door is closed, they can’t get in.”
Song Jingzhi’s voice became hoarse and low. His breath sprayed on her ear, carrying a strong scent of alcohol.
Tang Xiaoxiao’s face turned red, “We have to go to the city this afternoon.”
“I’ll just kiss you.” His tongue curled around her earlobe, slowly nibbling on it.
Tang Xiaoxiao felt her earlobe tingling, numb and tingly, and her body trembled.
This man was so bad!
“Good girl.” He mumbled, leaning down and biting her earlobe again.
“Hmm~” Tang Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but moan, “Don’t bite.”
He raised his head, his black eyes burning with passion as he looked at her. “Wife, you’re so beautiful.”
The temperature on Tang Xiaoxiao’s face instantly rose.
“……..” His gaze was too intense, she couldn’t ignore it.
“Good girl, close your eyes.”
Song Jingzhi kissed her lips, softly coaxing her.
Tang Xiaoxiao obediently closed her eyes. Seeing this, Song Jingzhi leaned down and kissed her lips.
Her lips were sweet. He tasted them, kissing her deeper and deeper, as if he wanted to swallow her whole.
Tang Xiaoxiao felt her whole body out of control. Her hands reached up to his broad shoulders, responding to his passionate kiss.
Song Jingzhi wrapped one arm around her waist, the other hand cupping her buttocks.
Their posture was extremely intimate, and Song Jingzhi’s breathing became heavier and heavier.
He wanted more than he showed on the surface.
Just then, a knock came from the door. “Jingzhi, all the guests have left. Everything is cleaned up. You can start drinking the ‘change of address’ tea.”
“Coming.” Song Jingzhi replied, looking down at the girl in his arms.
“Continue tonight.” His voice was a little hoarse, with a hint of sexiness.
Tang Xiaoxiao shyly pushed him away, straightening her disheveled clothes.
Song Jingzhi watched her tidy up, a smile in his eyes.
The “change of address” tea ceremony was kept low-key, with only both sets of parents and the matchmaker present.
Both sets of parents smiled as they listened to their daughter-in-law/son-in-law address them as “Mom and Dad,” handing over the prepared red envelopes. This marked the completion of the “change of address” tea ceremony.
Time was running out, so Song Jingzhi rode his bicycle and took Tang Xiaoxiao to the city.
Song Jian Guo had already prepared Tang Xiaoxiao’s documents, and Song Jingzhi had his military ID and marriage report.
They arrived at the office, and there weren’t many people getting married today.
Song Jingzhi also had the advantage of being a soldier, so the marriage certificate was processed quickly.
Holding the marriage certificate, which looked like a certificate of merit, Tang Xiaoxiao giggled.
She never thought that in two lifetimes, she would marry the firefighter who had saved her.
“So happy?” Song Jingzhi looked at her with affection.
“Aren’t you happy?” She looked up.
“Happy. This is the first time I’ve been this happy in my life.” He showed his white teeth and took her hand.
“Come on, let’s go take wedding photos.”
Tang Xiaoxiao put the marriage certificate in her satchel and sat on the back of the bicycle, gently wrapping her arms around his waist, looking at his broad back.
This was the person she was going to spend her life with. How wonderful!
They arrived at the photo studio, the only one in the city. Taking photos was considered a luxury at this time, so there were no other customers in the studio.
They were still wearing the same woolen coats, a perfect match.
“Are you here to take wedding photos?” The photographer guessed, seeing Tang Xiaoxiao’s red woolen coat.
“Yes.” Actually, Tang Xiaoxiao had prepared other clothes.
“I want to take two kinds.” One with what they were wearing now, and one with Song Jingzhi in his military uniform and her in a white dress.
“Okay.”
They were both good-looking, so they looked good no matter how they posed. At Song Jingzhi’s request, she also took two solo photos.
They had three copies of the group photo printed, and two copies of Tang Xiaoxiao’s solo photo, one of which Song Jingzhi wanted to keep with him.
“Come back in a week to pick up the photos.”
After taking the photos, they rode their bikes back.
