Chapter 1 Starting by Cutting Down the Stepmother 1
Daqian Kingdom, Shengjing City.
The War King’s Mansion was adorned with red silk, and drums and gongs filled the air. Almost all the powerful figures in Shengjing City, amidst their busy schedules, came to partake in the wedding feast of War King Xiao Huaishuo and the Second Miss of the Prime Minister’s Mansion, Su Qingyin.
Unlike the joyous atmosphere in the front hall, the bridal chamber was in chaos. Several maids and servants were frantically trying to revive the bride, who lay unconscious on the floor, covered in blood.
“Xiao Huaishuo! What have you done?! We’re at the final step of the plan, and you let this little vixen seize the opportunity to bump her head against the pillar!”
“If any of you dare to mess up Master’s and Madam’s plan today, you’ll all be punished when you get back!”
An old woman, whose face was wrinkled like a chrysanthemum, held the substitute bride, Su Qingyin, while scolding the surrounding maids.
The maids, remembering the terrifying punishments inflicted by Madam Shen, trembled in fear and hurriedly joined in the effort to revive Su Qingyin.
“Mama Rong, Miss… Miss is awake!”
“Shut up! She’s now called Second Miss! If you talk nonsense again, I’ll tear your mouth apart!”
Su Qingyin felt a sharp pain in her head and slowly opened her eyes, supporting herself with her hand.
Seeing the antique furnishings in the room, she was completely dumbfounded.
Who am I? Where am I?
As a 22nd-century genius special agent, Su Qingyin had risen to the position of Chief Military Doctor in the Special Forces at a young age.
Recently, she had led her team to complete a top-secret mission, and last night, she had gone out for a good drink with some soldiers.
How come she woke up here?!
Mama Rong? Second Miss?
Alright! These soldiers are now even daring to make fun of her, huh?!
Su Qingyin was about to jump up and give them all a good beating.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her head, and memories that didn’t belong to her flooded in like a tide.
Good heavens, Su Jie exclaimed, good heavens.
She had actually transmigrated into a male-frequency novel she had read before going to bed the day before.
The male lead, the War King, was a powerful figure who was punished by the dog emperor and his entire family was exiled. As a result, all his loved ones died on the way to exile.
War King Xiao Huaishuo was heartbroken and inconsolable. In exile, he secretly recruited soldiers and horses, eventually returning to the capital to become a great emperor.
The original owner shared the same name as her. The villainous father, Prime Minister Su, was one of the masterminds behind the framing of the War King for treason.
Knowing that the War King’s family was about to be exiled, he had the original owner marry into the War King’s Mansion in place of her sister and instructed her to assassinate the War King on their wedding night. This was to allow the villainous father to curry favor with the dog emperor.
However, like many young women in Daqian, the original owner had heard many legends about Xiao Huaishuo’s exploits on the battlefield and held him in high regard.
She didn’t want to assassinate him, but she couldn’t withstand her father’s pressure, so she ended up bumping her head against a pillar and dying.
Then, she, Su Qingyin, a 22nd-century special forces military doctor, transmigrated.
Su Qingyin understood the cause and effect, and a sharp light flashed in her eyes.
It seemed that the original owner was just a pure cannon fodder with a huge grievance…
But it didn’t matter. Since she had transmigrated, she would write the script from now on.
Those who owed the original owner would not have an easy time!
While she was in a daze, several maids and servants had already treated her head wound and applied some makeup to her face.
Mama Rong pointed at Su Qingyin and began to scold:
“You little vixen! Haven’t you been beaten enough by Madam before your marriage?! Master has already said that if you don’t do as he instructed, you’ll be made to suffer a living hell when you get back!”
Su Qingyin looked at the old woman’s orange peel-like face and her killing intent arose.
The original owner’s mother had passed away early. Her father had always ignored her, allowing her stepmother, Shen, to abuse her in various ways. This Mama Rong had often helped the Shen mother and daughter beat the original owner.
However, she didn’t have time for her now. It wouldn’t be too late to deal with her later. She simply said coldly:
“Get out!”
“Hmph! This little vixen is getting uppity! How dare you talk to me like that?!”
Mama Rong, with her thick eyebrows furrowed, rushed forward to slap Su Qingyin.
However, Su Qingyin was faster. In a flash, a golden hairpin flew from her hand, slashing a deep gash across Mama Rong’s face before embedding itself firmly into the wall opposite.
“Ah—”
Mama Rong, clutching her face, her fingers stained with blood, rolled her eyes in pain.
“This is outrageous! This is outrageous! This fool dares to hit me! Xiao Huaishuo! Get her, beat her to death!”
Su Qingyin stood straight, her presence commanding respect without anger. In her hand, several sharp golden hairpins appeared.
“I said it once. Get. Out!”
The servants were so frightened by the aura surrounding her that they dared not approach. Mama Rong, trembling, pointed at her for a long time but didn’t dare say anything more.
She just uttered a threat, then scurried away with the other maids.
“You little vixen! You just wait for me! Madam Shen knows you’re up to no good, and she followed here today. I’ll go find her right now and deal with you!”
Su Qingyin waved at their backs, a wolfish smile on her face.
Good, be sure to bring her here. It’s time to settle old scores!
The room finally fell silent. Su Qingyin quickly bolted the door and entered her personal space.
Her space contained a nine-story warehouse with a clear spring at the entrance.
Before Su Qingyin transmigrated, her world was in the early stages of the apocalypse, and everyone was trying to hoard supplies. She had also hoarded a lot of things.
The first floor was her clinic, stocked with various herbs and medical equipment. The second and third floors were filled with tens of thousands of clothes and daily necessities. The fourth and fifth floors were filled with various fruits, vegetables, grains, oil, and salt.
Because the space could preserve freshness, Su Qingyin had specially packed tens of thousands of ready-made meals from five-star hotels.
The sixth and seventh floors were stocked with tens of thousands of firearms.
The top floor was her private space.
Su Qingyin looked at the neatly stacked goods, her heart filled with satisfaction.
These supplies were enough for her to live for several lifetimes. Even if there was a famine for decades, she wouldn’t be afraid.
She had been completely captivated by the male lead’s appearance and aura when she read the book.
Now that she had transmigrated, she wouldn’t be a cannon fodder who could only wait to die.
Could she also live a life of “holding the power of the world in my hands, and sleeping with handsome men at my feet”?
As she was lost in her beautiful fantasy, a pink translucent information box suddenly appeared before her.
Unlocking Wind Element Ability and Space Farm. Please complete the hoarding task as soon as possible.]
Wow! The system is a good teacher!
She just transmigrated and the system unlocked an upgrade function for her!
But… she had already hoarded so many things in her space, and the progress bar was only at 10%. How many things would she need to reach 100%?
Wouldn’t she have to empty the emperor’s private treasury?!
As she was pondering, a voice suddenly rang out in her ear, the sweet and milky voice of the system, Xiao Ai Naifu.
[Sister Su, Sister Su! Your mother… no, your stepmother… well, the evil female lead is here to pick a fight!]
A cold glint flashed in Su Qingyin’s eyes, and her consciousness instantly exited the space. Mimicking the posture the original owner often used, she sat back on the wedding bed.
“Bang—”
The door bolt was smashed open with force, and someone kicked the door open from the outside. The door panel crashed against the wall, making a loud bang.
Madam Shen, accompanied by several burly maids, stormed in. Without a word, she pointed at Su Qingyin and began to scold:
“You little vixen, haven’t you been beaten enough this morning?! You’ve forgotten everything I told you, haven’t you? You even dare to hit my people!”
“All of you, get on her! Don’t hit her exposed areas, but beat her hard everywhere else! Beat her until she submits!”
