Chapter 3: Filial Ning Ning, online cutting off father
Xiao Huaishuo quickly scanned the secret letter that Su Qingning handed to him.
His expression gradually turned colder, and he couldn’t help but grip his hands tightly, his knuckles turning white and veins bulging.
Although his face showed no emotion, the coldness radiating from him caused the room temperature to drop several degrees.
For generations, the sons of the warlord’s residence had fought bloodily on the battlefield to protect this territory, only to end up with the label of “colluding with the enemy and betraying the country.”
The first rule of the Xiao family is “loyalty to the emperor and love for the country.” But this “country” belongs to others, and this “emperor” hates the Xiao family to the core!
After years of hard work and dedication, it all culminated in a single accusation of “colluding with the enemy and betraying the country.”
How could one not feel cold-hearted when the emperor is so incompetent, and the court is filled with treacherous officials?!
This letter was stolen by the original owner from her worthless father’s study. It vaguely explained how he assisted the crown prince in inciting the warlord’s trusted generals to inflict severe injuries on him in battle, which subsequently led to his leg ailment; and how they forged evidence to prepare to accuse the warlord’s residence of colluding with the enemy and betraying the country.
Perhaps fearing it would be stolen and their plans exposed, the wording in the letter was very obscure. But Xiao Huaishuo saw through the hidden implications at a glance.
In the end, it was simply a case of the emperor wanting his ministers to die, and the ministers having no choice but to comply. The emperor had instructed the crown prince to create this conspiracy to frame the warlord’s residence.
Now they could only pretend to know nothing and prepare to deal with the emperor’s impending punishment.
Su Qingning couldn’t help but pat Xiao Huaishuo’s back and comforted him softly:
“Don’t worry, the dog emperor always likes to play the part of a fake benevolent ruler. At most, he will only exile the entire Xiao family. A gentleman takes revenge; ten years is not too late. One day, we will make those who have harmed us pay the price!”
In fact, what she really thought was that she would find it too late to take revenge even a day later. Tonight, she wanted those dog thieves to pay!
However, she was afraid that saying it out loud would scare this cheap husband, so she could only comfort him this way for now.
The dim candlelight gently illuminated her smooth and delicate skin, and Su Qingning’s gentle expression nearly dazzled Xiao Huaishuo.
It was the first time he had heard someone refer to the emperor as the “dog emperor,” and he couldn’t help but smile at her audacious words. The frustration, unwillingness, and grievance in his heart dissipated considerably.
Everyone said that the prime minister’s daughter was timid and weak, a fool. It seemed that the rumors were misleading; the girl in front of him was clearly a lively and clever young lady.
In fact, he had long sensed that the emperor intended to eliminate the warlord’s residence and had been secretly preparing an escape route. Now, most of the warlord’s forces had already withdrawn from the capital to the southern borders.
However, there were too many people, both domestically and internationally, who wanted him dead, and this path of exile was bound to be fraught with danger.
Thinking of this, he felt a sense of uncertainty about the future. He turned to Su Qingning and said seriously:
“While the imperial decree hasn’t been issued yet, you should leave tonight. After all, the one engaged to me is the second miss of the prime minister’s residence; it has nothing to do with you.”
Su Qingning felt a warmth in her heart but firmly replied:
“I’m not leaving. Even if I escape now, I can only live a life of hiding my identity, and if I return to the prime minister’s residence, I will be mistreated by them; it would be the same as living a life worse than death.”
“Instead, I might as well leave the capital with you; perhaps there will still be a glimmer of hope.”
Of course, there was another reason. According to the plot of the novel, a prolonged drought would break out in the capital not long from now, lasting for four years.
The entire Xiao family was now sentenced to exile to the south, thus escaping a calamity.
Xiao Huaishuo wanted to persuade Su Qingning further, but just then, the housekeeper of the residence rushed over in a panic:
“Lord… Lord, the emperor urgently summons you to the palace. It
Fortunately, this time when Xiao Huaishuo entered the palace, he returned completely intact.
So, she no longer worried. Taking advantage of the time left, Su Qingning hurriedly sent away the servants in the room and removed all the cumbersome jewelry from her body, storing it in her space.
After changing into a practical outfit, she used the space’s invisibility and teleportation abilities to swiftly exit the warlord’s residence.
The dog emperor and his group of loyal ministers liked to play the game of confiscating property and exiling people, right? Tonight, she would begin by confiscating as a show of respect!
None of those who framed the warlord’s residence would escape!
Su Qingning quickly appeared at the prime minister’s residence.
As soon as she saw the imposing and solemn imperial plaque at the entrance of the prime minister’s residence, a surge of hatred ignited in her heart.
Knowing this was the emotion left over by the original owner of this body, Su Qingning could only softly comfort in her heart: “You can rest easy; I will avenge you.”
Indeed, she felt the hatred in her heart dissipate considerably. With a wave of her hand, the plaque at the entrance of the prime minister’s residence, along with the red ribbons above and the couplets beside it, were all stored in her space.
She found this thing so ominous that even a glance felt unlucky; it was perfect for burning as firewood!
Then, with another wave of her hand, the two bronze lions at the entrance, the gold-inlaid floor tiles, and the glazed tiles on the roof were all taken into her space.
The young servant guarding the door heard the noise and came out to check.
In the next second, the lantern in his hand vanished into thin air. Before he could even cry out, Su Qingning knocked him unconscious with a chop of her hand.
Immediately after, Su Qingning flashed into the storeroom of the prime minister’s residence.
Upon seeing the inside, her eyes nearly went blind from the sight!
Good heavens, it wasn’t the warlord planning a rebellion; it was this dog of a prime minister, right?!
The roughly 200-square-foot room was filled with all kinds of gold, silver, jewels, silks, satin, antique paintings…
Su Qingning’s heart was filled with joy; this outrageous wealth now belonged to her!
Money come! Money comes from all directions! Money pours in like a flood!
What sheep fat jade, emeralds, shimmering brocade, ice silkworm silk, thousand-year-old ginseng, hundred-year-old ganoderma…
With a wave of her hand, she collected them all into her space!
In the blink of an eye, the large storeroom was left with only bare walls, with even the tiles and floor bricks pried away.
The few young servants on night watch stood dumbfounded as they watched the storeroom turn into an empty shell in the blink of an eye, their eyes wide open in shock.
Before they could react, they suddenly felt a shadow pass by.
Su Qingning waved her sleeve, and several of them inhaled a large amount of special knockout gas, collapsing to the ground with a “thud.”
Collect, collect, collect! In the grand prime minister’s residence, keep collecting…
All the millet, yellow rice, flour, and various beans in the granary were taken away!
The beautiful flowers and plants in the backyard were uprooted! The fish in the pond looked good, so she took the entire pond and rockery with her!
The various storerooms in the prime minister’s residence were instantly spotless. The exquisite back garden transformed into a barren land full of dirt pits in the blink of an eye.
Su Qingning continued to move to the next spot. As soon as she flashed into the kitchen, she was greeted by a strong aroma. Lifting the lid of a pot, she found a large pot of tiger whip stew.
The novel described Prime Minister Su as still vigorous at over fifty, with a young concubine brought into the residence one after another; it turned out he relied on eating this every day!
Disgusted, Su Qingning threw the pot lid back, waved her hand, and collected all the oils, salts, sauces, vinegar, tea, pots, bowls, and various fruits and pastries in the kitchen into her space.
The kitchen was left so clean that not even a grain of rice could be found, except for the stove that couldn’t be moved.
The old mice in the corner were so shocked they cursed and hurriedly moved out in the middle of the night.
Thinking of leaving a way out for future encounters.
She also put the worthless father’s tiger whip back on the stove. With a wave of her hand, she sprinkled three times the amount of castration medicine inside.
What can relieve worries? Castration brings eternal peace.
“Father, look how good I am to you. I’ve directly solved your life’s major issue.”
Su Qingning didn’t linger any longer and directly flashed to.
