On the morning of the third day, the spaceship had crossed the border between the Southern and Eastern Regions and officially entered the Eastern Region.
The border was called the Eastern Forest, an ancient and dense forest said to be inhabited by demon kings.
Thus, even with the protection of the three directors, the spaceship didn’t dare to cross directly but circled around the edge instead.
However, there were still some small complications along the way.
Traveling through the sky was relatively safe, but it could still attract airborne demon beasts.
During the journey through a mountain range, the spaceship inadvertently disturbed a flock of rock eagles.
Although rock eagles weren’t as large or fierce as roc eagles, they lived in groups and preferred to nest on steep mountain cliffs.
As the spaceship passed through the mountain range, it entered the rock eagles’ territory, essentially disturbing their nest.
The sky was soon filled with rock eagles with wingspans of three meters.
The entire sky was darkened by their presence, and the atmosphere became tense and dangerous.
Fortunately, the three directors were very capable.
The Chief Director, whose cultivation level was unclear but surely at least Nascent Soul stage, remained calm and quickly summoned a circular magic artifact.
The artifact created waves that knocked down all the rock eagles in the vicinity and formed a protective shield above the spaceship.
Meanwhile, the Western and Southern Directors flew out to deal with the rock eagle demon king, allowing the spaceship to safely exit the rock eagles’ territory.
Qin Ruqing observed the entire scene, while Lu Wei, who had glanced out of the porthole, couldn’t bear to watch more due to her fear of densely packed situations.
Qin Ruqing leaned by the window and said, “Third Sister, you can look now. The rock eagles are gone.”
Lu Wei stopped rubbing her arms.
“We’ve entered the Eastern Region now. Let’s go find Tang Zifeng and then head to the deck to see outside.”
The four of them leaned over the railing on the deck, where they saw quite a few people already there, likely coming out to watch after crossing the rock eagle’s territory and entering the Eastern Region.
After all, most kids from the Southern Region had only ever traveled as far as the mountain ranges, so the Eastern Region’s vast and bustling lands were something they’d only heard about in books.
The wind gently lifted Lu Wei’s smooth black hair.
She asked, “Is the No Boundaries Sky similar to the Central City of the Northern Ridge? The main city of the Eastern Region?”
Qin Ruqing adjusted Third Sister’s hair while answering, “Sort of. I asked the ancestor, and the Eastern Region is different from our Southern Region. We have three ridges: Western Ridge, Southern Ridge, and Northern Ridge. The Eastern Region is divided into continents.”
“Continents?” Qi Rong asked, puzzled.
“Basically, there are three continents,” came a voice from behind.
Qin Ruqing and the others turned to see it was Lin Yijun.
However, she wasn’t dressed in the usual Western Ridge attire today.
Had she finally given up her fiery Western Ridge outfit?
Qin Ruqing raised an eyebrow and said, “Lin Yijun, why aren’t you wearing that thigh-high slit dress anymore?”
Lin Yijun was taken aback and then glared, “I can wear whatever I want. It’s none of your business!”
Lu Wei kindly added, “Yijun, you look great in Northern Ridge attire too.”
Lin Yijun was pleased and took a few small steps towards Lu Wei.
She tugged at her skirt and said shyly, “Really? I specially chose a purple dress similar to Lu Wei’s.”
Actually, she wanted to wear a golden dress.
However, gold is very picky; she felt she couldn’t pull off the effect like the little monster could, so she switched to a deep purple instead.
“Hey, aren’t we straying from the topic? Wasn’t it about the Three Continents just now?” Qin Ruqing said, crossing her arms.
“Hey! You were the one who changed the subject first, weren’t you?”
Qin Ruqing: “The Three Continents… If you don’t say it, I will.”
Lin Yijun made a “be quiet” gesture, afraid Qin Ruqing would steal her lines, and spoke rapidly: “The Three Continents refer to the Three Regions of the East: Yingzhou, Shangzhou, and Nanpingzhou.”
“And, among them, Buzhou Island is the most noble, followed by Yingzhou…”
Qi Rong widened his eyes: “Wait, are these regions really ranked by nobility?” He felt Lin Yijun’s use of the word “noble” was inappropriate.
Lin Yijun realized Qi Rong misunderstood and stomped her foot, “It’s not that I think they are noble; it’s the Eastern Region itself that has categorized these rankings.”
“The gold-tier families mostly live on the Buzhou Islands, a few live in Yingzhou, and the remaining silver and bronze-tier smaller families live in the other two regions.”
“The East Region has many large families, with strict hierarchical levels and marriage requirements.
It’s said that cross-region marriages are not allowed!”
Tang Zifeng nodded in agreement with Lin Yijun’s explanation: “Our Southern Region doesn’t have this custom, but it’s like this in the East Region.”
So, it wasn’t that Lin Yijun herself used the term “noble”—it was the way things were.
Qin Ruqing clicked her tongue: “It just sounds unpleasant.”
After making her comments, she continued to calmly explain the reason behind the East Region’s practices, “This is probably a strategy devised by the big families to solidify their position. By preventing inter-regional marriages and segregating regions, the movement of family hierarchies between regions is greatly reduced.”
“Big families always remain big families. Even if a family declines, they can still be saved through marriage alliances, but only with families of the same region and level. Smaller families find it hard to advance because resources are monopolized, and the big families keep them suppressed.”
After hearing this, Qi Rong, Lu Wei, and Tang Zifeng were all quite indifferent.
Lin Yijun, however, was surprised.
She had just mentioned a phenomenon, and the Qin Ruqing immediately analyzed the reason?
But Lin Yijun quickly relaxed.
Since Qin Ruqing could achieve such a significant level in just six months, understanding these matters was no big deal.
The little monster is just the little monster, after all, and it’s normal.
By noon, the spaceship slowly descended and landed on the sea, turning into a real ship.
With blue water and blue sky merging seamlessly, the scene truly stunned the five people who were unused to water.
Qin Ruqing tugged at Tang Zifeng’s sleeve: “Tang Zifeng, have you ever seen the sea?”
Without waiting for Tang Zifeng’s answer, she laughed, “Haha, I forgot you’re from the Western Ridge. It’s all desert there, even less than the Southern Ridge, so you wouldn’t have seen the sea!” The Southern Ridge still had rivers and lakes.
Lin Yijun gripped the railing and snorted, feeling that the little monster’s attitude was quite irritating.
She said, “Tch, looking down on the Western Ridge. Now you’ve seen it!”
However, since most people from the Southern Region were not used to the sea, the scenery soon attracted more people to the deck, eventually drawing out the three directors.
As the crowd of people chattered like little ducklings, the Chief Director reminded them indifferently, “We are about to enter the No Boundaries Islands. Before disembarking, you need to input your choices into the jade slips and submit them.”
Oh no, the choices! Why bring this up now? It’s really annoying.
The chatter among the group instantly died down.
When they finally entered the No Boundaries Islands and even saw the towering No Boundaries Mountain, the Chief Director asked them to submit their jade slips.
Lu Wei, holding the jade slip, looked visibly nervous.
The choice was particularly risky for her.
Qin Ruqing, standing nearby, smiled at Lu Wei and whispered, “Third Sister, it’s okay.”
I’ll help you with this.
Lu Wei seemed to understand Qin Ruqing’s unspoken words, and with a sigh of relief, she handed the jade slip to a nearby celestial assistant without hesitation.
Thus, the choices of Qin Ruqing’s team were finalized.
The ship docked, and the group finally set foot on Eastern Region soil.
The Southern Ridge Director shrank the spaceship to the size of a walnut and put it into his sleeve pocket.
The Chief Director floated in the air and told them, “The conference will officially start in three days. The venue will be the central square at the foot of No Boundaries Mountain.”
Fifth Lingyu seemed to be completely idle.
While the Chief Director gave the instructions and Fifth Ziyan handled the spaceship, Fifth Lingyu’s role seemed to be, well, sightseeing?
As the three directors left, Fifth Lingyu even winked at Qin Ruqing, a gesture often referred to as a flirtatious wink.
Qin Ruqing thought he might be twitching his eye, but the other female cultivator interpreted it as a flirtatious glance and began chattering excitedly.
Qi Rong sniffed the humid air of the Eastern Region and asked, “Sister, we have three days. Where should we go first?”
“Of course, we’ll find a place to stay first, and then, hehe, check out tea houses, taverns, and gambling houses.”
Lin Yijun piped up, “Haha, you’re planning to go to gambling houses!”
Qin Ruqing glanced at her, “Don’t worry about things like that.”
This silly person doesn’t understand.
Tea houses, taverns, and gambling houses are natural places for gathering information.
Qin Ruqing led Lu Wei, Qi Rong, and the three from the Tang family towards the island.
Lin Yijun watched their backs and said to her companions:
“Let’s follow them!”
“Miss, you’re not planning to fight Elder Qin again, are you?”
Lin Yijun gave her a sharp look, “You don’t get it. The reputation of that little monster has already spread. She’s still dressing so flamboyantly—it’s like she’s inviting attention. If our Lin family follows her, it’s like hiding in plain sight. Perfect for staying under the radar!”
The Lin family members looked at her in awe, “The young miss is indeed wise!”
“Hmph, let’s go!”
After Qin Ruqing and her group checked into an inn, they planned to find a tea house to relax.
However, halfway there, Qin Ruqing frowned, glanced back, then smirked.
She snapped her fingers, and a flash of golden light seemed to sparkle at her fingertips.
Lin Yijun, who had been stealthily following them, suddenly felt a bit hot.
She looked down and saw a small golden lotus floating in front of her, its petals fluttering as if greeting her.
Startled!
Lin Yijun quickly darted to the side, realizing this was the little monster’s magic.
She had a bad experience with such things!
Looking up, she indeed saw the little monster and her companions standing still, watching direction.
She was spotted and decided to adjust her clothes, walking over with a graceful demeanor.
She expected to be ridiculed, but instead, the little monster glanced at her and raised an eyebrow, saying, “If you want to follow, just come along. Why sneak around like a thief?”
Huh? That’s great!
Sitting on the second floor of the teahouse, she was munching on melon seeds while listening to the storyteller below.
Interestingly, the storyteller from the Buzhou Islands was not telling a story but discussing the top talents of the Hundred Clans Conference.
Lin Yijun listened for a while and then exclaimed, “So this is why you came to the teahouse!”
Qin Ruqing cracked her melon seeds loudly, rolling her eyes, “Oh, you just figured it out?”
