After spending a day muddling through the beast group, Qin Ruqing finally figured out the situation.
She was part of a battle squad of the Beast Tribe.
Since all the beast forms were of powerful, primal types like lions, tigers, and leopards, their role in battle was primarily as main attackers.
And Qin Ruqing had become the fierce flame tiger named Beautiful Tiger, a proud little beast soldier in the Beast Tribe’s army…
In this absurd setting, Qin Ruqing still didn’t know her specific mission.
She could only passively blend in with this furry team and wait for further instructions from her superiors.
The Beast Tribe is a race that values strength above all else, and the strength of the beasts is usually determined by their bloodline.
Qin Ruqing’s original fierce flame tiger form belongs to a powerful bloodline within the Beast Tribe.
The demonic beasts had innate beast flames and accompanying fire abilities, making their combat power formidable.
Qin Ruoqing was an expert with fire; although she was inexperienced with handling large beasts, she was quite familiar with setting fires, so she used those fire abilities skillfully without exposing any flaws to the large cats.
Among them, the spotted leopard was a close companion of the “Beautiful Tiger.”
They often snuggled together, grooming each other, or healing each other after battles.
The spotted leopard treated her well, frequently showing concern and occasionally sharing its food.
Qin Ruoqing had imagined that the food of demonic beasts would be bloody and raw meat, possibly even human flesh.
However, she was surprised to find that these furry beasts had their own dried meat.
It felt odd, like seeing a two-meter-tall man at work in a company, then pulling out an exquisitely crafted lunchbox.
Qin Ruoqing hesitated before taking a bite of the dried meat, which was made of some unknown type of meat.
She soon felt a warm flow through her body, her fatigue vanishing and her energy rapidly restoring.
Her eyes widened in shock.
This was clearly a high-grade spiritual food.
So, the beast race has such good food conditions!
After quickly finishing the dried meat, she glanced at the still leisurely eating leopard and, licking her lips, hesitantly asked, “Um, why don’t we eat human flesh?”
Since she was playing the part of a beast now, she might as well dig into the beast race’s secrets!
Leopard looked at her with a puzzled expression. “Why would you ask such a strange question? We beasts are a noble race; we wouldn’t eat things that aren’t on the menu!”
Oh, so you look down on humans?
Qin Ruoqing responded with an “oh” and continued, “I’m just curious. Since human flesh isn’t tasty, why do we still fight humans? So many beasts have died; it seems hardly worth it!”
To fit the beast persona, she added, “This Void is so dark and dreary, nothing like the beast realm!”
Leopard paused its eating and seemed to be deep in thought.
After a while, it hesitantly said, “I don’t know either. We just follow the leader’s instructions. But, while we don’t eat human flesh, we can consume human blood!”
“That’s very beneficial for our cultivation!”
Qin Ruqing stayed silent, but Leopard’s voice grew strangely somber. “But you’re right, I’m also a bit tired of the war. I don’t like this Void Realm; I want to go back to the beast realm.”
Qin Ruqing stiffly continued eating the dried meat, her mind in shock.
So, demonic beasts don’t eat human flesh but instead consume human blood.
And human blood is beneficial for demonic beast cultivation?!
What’s the principle behind this?
Is it similar to how humans use demonic beast cores to refine pills?
A kind of supplement in a way?
A few more days passed—presumably days, as the Void had no sun or moon, making it hard to gauge the passage of time.
During this period, Qin Ruqing remained in a state of bewilderment and complexity.
On one hand, she still didn’t know what her task was.
Listening to the constant talk of battles, Qin Ruqing guessed that once the war began, even without explicit plot prompts, she would probably know what to do.
This made her somewhat look forward to the arrival of such significant events.
On the other hand, she felt some resistance.
After all, she was now a beast soldier.
When the battle broke out, wouldn’t it be a fight against humans?
How could she possibly follow the Beast Tribe’s army to fight against humans?
Before Qin Ruqing could resolve her internal conflict, the war began.
That day, the battle squad was resting when they suddenly heard a series of howls from the beasts, rising and falling in a chaotic yet orderly manner.
The big cats in the squad woke up immediately, their fur standing on end, readying themselves for battle.
Their leader, a large, mature flame tiger, let out a roar and issued orders:
“Gather!”
After the roar, the leader glanced at Qin Ruqing.
This leader’s beast form was also a flame tiger, but larger and more imposing than Qin Ruqing’s—an adult male flame tiger.
Qin Ruqing stiffly walked to stand behind the male tiger.
Don’t misunderstand; he wasn’t her brother but rather the original form’s older brother.
In the battle squad, Qin Ruqing and the flower leopard played roles similar to deputy leaders.
Qin Ruqing and the flower leopard stood on either side of the imposing male flame tiger, and the entire team of big cats waited for instructions.
They were the main attack force and had to wait for the vanguard—beasts like oxen, horses, and rhinoceroses in heavy cavalry—to complete their assault before following up.
The big cat squad remained completely silent and on high alert, ready for action.
Qin Ruqing felt a sense of orderly discipline.
She was astonished that the Beast Tribe’s battle tactics were so well-organized, unlike the reckless attacks she had imagined.
The Beast Tribe communicated battle instructions through different frequencies of roars.
Qin Ruqing heard a sharp, short howl and, before she could react, the big cat squad charged out like lightning.
The largest and mightiest flame tiger, the leader, led the charge, shooting a fireball into the human ranks.
Soon, the beastly silhouettes disappeared.
The tiger’s blazing mane and trailing fire obscured Qin Ruqing’s vision.
Qin Ruqing remained frozen in place, while the flower leopard, noticing Beautiful Tiger’s absence, came back and shouted, “Beautiful Tiger, why are you still standing there? The battle has already started!”
Beautiful Tiger replied and clumsily followed.
Qin Ruqing was having a hard time with the battle.
She had gotten used to being a beast over the past few days, and since she had transformed into a flame tiger, which matched her expertise, she could use the flame tiger’s fiery powers quite smoothly.
Her skills were far beyond that of a small soldier, and with the flame tiger’s naturally invulnerable physique, her attacks on human soldiers were precise.
But Qin Ruqing was trembling with fear, shrinking her claws and hastily fleeing in the chaotic battlefield.
Soon, some human soldiers noticed the flame tiger that was dragging its tail and not using any skills.
How strange, they had never seen a flame tiger that couldn’t even use its firepower.
The human soldiers thought they had stumbled upon an opportunity and approached with their weapons.
Qin Ruqing instinctively dodged.
Seeing her massive paw hit a soldier’s back, there was a thud, and the human soldier spat out a mouthful of blood on the spot.
…Sorry, I didn’t expect you to be so fragile!
The soldier was knocked unconscious.
Fortunately, Qin Ruqing hadn’t used too much force, so it wasn’t a severe injury.
The only issue was that being unconscious on the battlefield, he might end up being trampled if he wasn’t killed by others.
Qin Ruqing wanted to drag him to a safer corner, but suddenly, her fur bristled, and she instinctively dodged an unknown attack.
She crouched low and turned to look at the attacker.
What she saw was shocking.
The attacker was clad in silver-white armor, standing on a glowing magical artifact and hovering in mid-air.
He wielded a gleaming blade and had cold, murderous eyes.
This was no ordinary soldier; it was at least a commanding officer.
However, the key detail was that this unknown human commander had a face exactly like Fifth Youlin’s!
Fifth Youlin had initially acted to rescue the injured human soldier from the ferocious flame tiger’s jaws.
To his surprise, the flame tiger seemed to be stunned by his appearance and stood still with an expression of clear foolishness.
Fifth Youlin felt something was off but couldn’t afford to think much on the battlefield.
He raised his sword to deal with the flame tiger, only to see it suddenly lying down in a submissive posture.
Fifth Youlin’s hand paused, and his brow twitched slightly.
Beautiful Tiger lay submissively on the ground.
As a proud beast soldier, she was naturally inclined to surrender.
However, just as this thought crossed her mind, Qin Ruqing received a sudden prompt in her mind.
“Lead your faction to victory in this war.”
“Faction”
“Victory”…
Qin Ruqing, who had been about to surrender, suddenly stiffened.
No way!!!!!
