Qin Ruqing currently has five lottery chances.
She is still far from getting a ten-draw set, but with single draws, she might get something useful.
She originally planned to wait until the end of the event to see if she could save up for a ten-draw set, but now she decided to use the chances immediately.
Qin Ruqing is a person of few words and started drawing right away.
She hoped to get something related to the rules, preferably something similar to “Domain of All Things” but with a different function, ideally something attack-oriented. This way, it would pair perfectly with “Domain of All Life” and be incredibly powerful.
However, her wish seemed unrealistic. Reality quickly slapped her in the face.
Her first draw yielded nothing.
Qin Ruqing was jolted out of her fantasy and grumbled loudly, “System, did you have a bug? I used a draw chance but got nothing!”
The system was a bit surprised: “Well, there’s a tiny chance of getting nothing, even if you use a draw chance. You’ve drawn an empty package.”
After the system’s response, there was an unsettling silence.
Qin Ruqing, shocked, placed her hand on her chest, took a deep breath, and asked in a deep voice, “Let me ask you another question: Is it more likely to get nothing or to get something valuable?”
The system, sometimes puzzled by human emotions, answered: “In theory, it’s more likely to get something valuable. Empty packages are very rare because even if luck is poor, you usually get at least a gray item.”
So she couldn’t even get a gray item.
Qin Ruqing was so stunned she couldn’t speak.
Although she had been prepared for bad luck, she didn’t expect it to be this severe. The system tried to comfort her: “At least you’ve had several good draws before. Getting an empty package once in a while isn’t a big deal.”
Qin Ruqing snorted in frustration, turning her disappointment into anger, and said, “Let’s draw again. I refuse to believe that there won’t be good luck after such bad luck!”
Without blinking, she used up her remaining four draws.
However, perhaps today was truly unlucky—out of the remaining four draws, the best she got was only one red item.
Qin Ruqing: So disappointing!
The system commented: “It’s not that bad; it’s just your normal level of luck.”
Qin Ruqing, initially frowning in frustration, suddenly had a strange look on her face. The system, thinking she was deeply affected, asked, “Are you okay?”
Qin Ruqing exclaimed, “It seems like I’ve felt the rules of this cave—I really do have bad luck—but I’ve made it through!”
A luminous glow surrounded her, indicating she was now able to leave the cave of destiny rules.
“And, it looks like I’ve received a reward for passing—‘bad luck strikes.’ This means, when I fight someone, there’s a chance to inflict a ‘bad luck’ buff on them. If they get hit, they might experience random misfortunes like ‘bird droppings landing on them,’ ‘sudden weapon breakage,’ or ‘slipping and falling,’” she explained.
The system took a moment to respond and finally said, “Well, that’s not bad?”
Qin Ruqing stood up with a light step, saying, “Even though the lottery was a bit of a gamble, at least I got compensated in other ways. This ‘bad luck strikes’ seems pretty useful!”
If it really triggers in battle, it could be quite amusing.
Qin Ruqing felt relieved about the bad luck. As she had said before, bad luck is still a form of luck and can be used to her advantage.
When she left the cave, she ran into Fenhua again, who was still there absorbing the “guidance of fate,” making Qin Ruqing look on enviously.
Fenhua looked puzzled and asked, “Fairy Ruqing, why are you going back?”
Qin Ruqing replied confidently, “I passed, so I’m leaving. Keep it up!”
Fenhua admired her and said, “As expected of Fairy Ruqing, you’ve already passed?”
Qin Ruqing felt a bit embarrassed and didn’t mention that she had used ultimate bad luck to cleverly bypass the challenge.
She waved and quickened her pace to leave.
Outside, Qin Ruqing felt a sense of freedom: “Hey, no one saw how I passed the cave of destiny rules. Others will just think I’m impressive—well, that’s true.”
Suddenly, she heard a chuckle behind her.
Qin Ruqing stopped smiling and turned around.
Fifth Lingyu was standing behind her, having clearly overheard her remark.
Qin Ruqing, with a composed face, said, “Director, you’re out too. How was it? Didn’t run into any difficulties? It’s a pity we haven’t met until now!”
Fifth Lingyu smiled at her, his expression almost devilishly charming.
He replied, “No rush, there will be opportunities.”
He then entered the cave of destiny rules that Qin Ruqing had just left.
He completely avoided crossing paths with her.
Qin Ruqing watched him disappear with a snort, then swaggered into the final cave of rules.
In the cave of celestial secrets, Hui Neng, the Buddhist child, slowly opened his eyes and calmly said, “Fairy Ruqing has arrived.”
Qin Ruqing had only interacted with Buddhist figures like Guangyuan at the Hundred Races Conference.
She hadn’t met this one before.
However, his reputation was quite significant; he was said to be a naturally enlightened being, potentially even more formidable than Guangyuan, and thus chosen for this succession contest.
Qin Ruqing bowed respectfully and said, “Buddha Child, hello. Do you recognize me?”
Hui Neng smiled slightly, “Guangyuan has mentioned you. He spoke highly of you. Now that I see you in person, I can see that his words were not exaggerated. Immortal Ruqing truly stands out.”
In Hui Neng’s view, the cave of celestial secrets seemed almost to merge with Qin Ruqing, as if she were a part of the cave itself.
It wasn’t a case of being extraordinary, but rather of blending seamlessly with the environment.
Qin Ruqing didn’t quite understand what Hui Neng meant and thought it was just a bit of mutual flattery.
Being praised so directly left her both surprised and a bit confused.
She wondered if this was how Buddhists genuinely compliment others; it felt a bit embarrassing.
After saying goodbye to Hui Neng, Qin Ruqing continued exploring the most mysterious “Rule Cavern” of the Heavenly Dao lineage but found nothing unusual.
She felt quite relaxed but didn’t receive any guidance from the cavern.
Could it be that I need to investigate and discover something myself?
She thought there might be some detail she missed, so she planned to circle around a few more times.
However, a gust of wind came and gently pushed her out, as if a hand was patting her on the head, saying, “Child, go on, you don’t need to stay here.”
Confused, Qin Ruqing wondered, “What does it mean to be sent out directly? Does it mean I’m not suited for this lineage, and I don’t even need a trial?”
When she opened the leaderboard, she saw her name briefly flash and then disappear normally.
Based on her previous experiences, this seemed to indicate she had passed.
Passed directly?
Qin Ruqing, still puzzled, returned to the initial Azure Lutos Rule Cavern.
She had gone through all the Rule Caverns due to the Azure Lutos lineage’s requirements.
Now that she had fulfilled this requirement, she wondered if there were any new trials awaiting her.
If there were, and they were of the same level as the previous ones, she might truly run out of time.
Since powerful beings had appeared in the Qinglian Rule Cavern before, Qin Ruqing didn’t dare act recklessly.
After respectfully performing the proper rites, she addressed the empty space:
“Senior, I have completed all the Rule Caverns. May I know if I meet the requirements of the Azure Lutos inheritance? Is there anything else I need to do?”
After waiting quietly, she finally heard a voice directly in her mind:
“No need to do anything further. The trial of Azure Lutos is to pass all the Rule Caverns. Since you have completed the trial, it symbolizes that you have also passed the Azure Lutos Rule Cavern.”
Oh?
So the trial of Azure Lutos is just to pass the previous few trials? That’s a rather unique form of trial.
Qin Ruqing was surprised but relieved.
After undergoing various trials in the caverns and being quite tense, she finally felt a great sense of relief.
Her name was fixed under the Azure Lutos lineage, as if she had returned to the starting point—everything she experienced was a form of practice, and it ultimately reflected back on her true path.
