Chapter 11 Helping Ji Hangyi Solve Supernatural Incidents
Su Xiwan looked at Ji Hangyi with hopeful eyes, she put down the cup in her hand and said:
“Your birth chart does indeed attract evil spirits, and for you to have safely reached this point, you must have been wearing some kind of protective item, right?”
Ji Hangyi across from her heard Su Xiwan’s words and quickly nodded eagerly, saying:
“Yes, Master Su, I have had a jade pendant on me since I was very young. My family instructed me not to take it off, to carry it with me at all times, even when bathing.
However, this jade pendant, a few days ago, for some reason, it cracked on its own and broke into several pieces!”
That jade pendant had been with Ji Hangyi since he was a child, and as he spoke, a look of regret appeared on his face.
Upon hearing Ji Hangyi’s account, Su Xiwan nodded understandingly. Her gaze was deep and wise, as if she could see through everything:
“That jade pendant of yours should have been a talisman made by a master at your parents’ request. The fact that it suddenly broke probably means it had been protecting you from many disasters, but it couldn’t bear it anymore, hence it broke.”
Upon hearing Su Xiwan’s words, Qiao Feiyan, curious, asked:
“Xiwan, you said the jade pendant was made by a master, would you be able to make one too?”
After hearing her friend’s question, Su Xiwan nodded slightly and said:
“Yes, I should be able to!”
Su Xiwan had studied these things in her space, but because she had never made one herself, she wasn’t sure if she could really succeed.
Ji Hangyi’s eyes lit up with hope upon hearing this. He looked at Su Xiwan expectantly and earnestly said:
“Master Su, could you help me make another one?”
Su Xiwan thought for a moment, then replied seriously:
“I can, but I don’t have the materials. You’ll have to provide the materials yourself. The better the materials, the more disasters it can protect you from!”
Su Xiwan then continued:
“If you provide the materials, I’ll only charge you a crafting fee. I usually charge a thousand yuan for a talisman I draw, but drawing on jade is more challenging, so I’ll charge you two thousand!”
Su Xiwan didn’t want to overcharge, but drawing talismans did require spiritual energy, and the spiritual energy she cultivated daily was not enough for her regular use. Carving talismans on jade would require even more spiritual energy. She felt that two thousand yuan was a fair price.
Ji Hangyi nodded without hesitation and said:
“No problem, no problem. I’ll find the materials as soon as possible. Master Su, can you help me get rid of the dirty stuff on my body?”
Su Xiwan chuckled as she looked at Ji Hangyi and said:
“That dirty stuff is no longer on you, and since the protective talisman you bought started working, have you felt less disturbed these past few nights?”
“Yes, Master, although sometimes I still feel like something dark is watching me, these past few nights have been relatively peaceful.”
“That’s it then. It was probably affected by the protective talisman I drew a couple of days ago. I think that thing should still be in your room.”
After Su Xiwan finished speaking, she looked at Ji Hangyi and said:
“Let’s go, I have some time now, I can help you check!”
Ji Hangyi heard that Su Xiwan was willing to help immediately and his face lit up with joy. He quickly said:
“Really, that’s great! Master Su, my car is parked outside, please follow me!”
Su Xiwan had already stood up by this time. Upon hearing Ji Hangyi’s increasingly respectful address, she couldn’t help but smirk.
“My name is Su Xiwan, just call me by my name!”
Qiao Feiyan, beside them, couldn’t help but chuckle when she heard Ji Hangyi address Su Xiwan with “您.” She felt like in Ji Hangyi’s eyes, their Xiwan was being treated like those old men in Daoist robes with white beards!
As Ji Hangyi led Su Xiwan and Qiao Feiyan towards the parking lot, he said:
“How can that be? You’re so amazing, in my eyes, you’re even more amazing than those masters!”
Ji Hangyi had seen those Feng Shui masters who gave fortune-telling on TV. He saw that they mostly needed to use coins or know the other person’s birth chart to determine their fortune.
But Su Xiwan could see through his past at a glance. After all, she could even tell his secrets that only he knew, so at this moment, Ji Hangyi was completely convinced by Su Xiwan.
Seeing Ji Hangyi’s strong attitude, Su Xiwan no longer insisted. Let him call her whatever he wanted, it wouldn’t make her old anyway.
The three of them quickly arrived at the parking lot. Su Xiwan and Qiao Feiyan got into Ji Hangyi’s car. The car drove smoothly on the road and soon arrived at a high-end villa community, which was several levels higher than the community where Su’s family lived.
Sitting next to Su Xiwan, Qiao Feiyan couldn’t help but say to Ji Hangyi as she looked at the scenery outside the window:
“You’re quite something, I knew you were rich, but I didn’t know your family was this rich!”
The car had already arrived at Ji Hangyi’s villa courtyard. As he stopped the car, Ji Hangyi said to Su Xiwan and Qiao Feiyan who were getting out of the car: “Master Su, Miss Qiao, please come in!”
This villa was a small villa within Ji’s family’s property. When Ji Hangyi turned eighteen, he wanted some freedom of his own, so he moved out of the old house.
Therefore, this small villa was usually inhabited only by Ji Hangyi himself, and occasionally his family and friends would come over.
Su Xiwan, guided by Ji Hangyi, entered the villa. As soon as she stepped inside, she keenly sensed an odd atmosphere. She frowned slightly and quickly scanned her surroundings.
When her gaze landed on a room on the second floor, her eyes narrowed. She pointed at the room and asked:
“Is that your bedroom?”
Ji Hangyi, hearing Su Xiwan’s words, was even more in awe. He nodded quickly and said:
“Yes, Master Su, can you see something in there?”
Su Xiwan nodded and said: “I can only tell that there’s something wrong with that room, but I’ll have to go in to know what the problem is!”
Su Xiwan was about to take a step, then paused as if she suddenly remembered something. She looked at her friend Qiao Feiyan and Ji Hangyi and said:
“Are you two coming with me?”
Qiao Feiyan was already wearing the protective talisman that Su Xiwan had made for her, and she also wanted to see how Xiwan was going to catch the ghost. So, when she heard Su Xiwan’s question, she nodded quickly:
“Xiwan, I’ll go! I want to witness this too!”
Ji Hangyi was about to refuse, but seeing that Qiao Feiyan, a girl, was braver than him, he felt embarrassed to say no. He swallowed hard, suppressing his fear and nodded, saying: “Then…then I’ll go too!”
Su Xiwan looked at Ji Hangyi’s slightly nervous expression and smiled. She took out a protective talisman from her backpack and handed it to Ji Hangyi.
“Put this protective talisman on.”
