Chapter 51 Mu Jinghan’s Thanks
After hearing Mu Xiwan’s arrangement, the female ghost Ding Xinmei nodded solemnly. Then, she possessed the small paper figure, waved goodbye to Ji Yuanxi and Mu Xiwan, and with a flash, she leaped out of the window!
At this moment, Ji Yuanxi saw the female ghost leaving, and the tension she had been feeling finally eased. She never expected to see a ghost one day; it was truly surreal!
Mu Xiwan smiled and looked at Ji Yuanxi, who was now relieved, and said with interest, “Auntie, how was it seeing a ghost for the first time? Were you scared?”
Looking at Mu Xiwan joking with her, Ji Yuanxi also felt much more relaxed. She looked serious and said slowly, “I was indeed scared when I first saw the female ghost, but later on, I felt sorry for her!”
Ji Yuanxi sighed slightly as she spoke.
“Auntie, sometimes people are scarier than ghosts, like the Taoist controlling this female ghost!” Mu Xiwan paused when mentioning the Taoist, then asked in confusion, “Auntie, why would this Taoist target you?”
Ji Yuanxi replied with uncertainty, “I’m not sure either; I’ve never seen any Taoist!”
“Could it be that someone else hired this Taoist to target you? Have you had any recent conflicts with anyone?” Mu Xiwan asked.
Upon hearing Mu Xiwan’s words, Ji Yuanxi immediately shook her head and said, “No!”
Being not only a daughter-in-law of the Mu family but also a girl from the Ji family, Ji Yuanxi had harmonious relationships with her colleagues and friends.
With limited clues, Mu Xiwan could only say to Ji Yuanxi, “Auntie, make sure to carry the protective talisman I gave you. I think that Taoist isn’t just targeting you; he probably aims at your whole family of four!”
“Why is that, Wanwan?”
“If the Taoist wanted your life, he wouldn’t have sealed the female ghost in that doll unnecessarily; he would have had the ghost attack you directly! By sealing the ghost in the doll, he probably intends to fuel her resentment, and by keeping you in this house filled with Yin energy and resentment, not only will you gradually lose your life, but even Jinghan, who have karmic ties with you, will eventually lose their lives too!
And the reason why my second uncle is unaffected is that he’s a soldier with merits, so the Yin and resentment here don’t affect him!”
After saying all this, Mu Xiwan paused and continued, “The reason the Taoist doesn’t let the female ghost possess you directly might also be because the ghost can’t enter our main courtyard, so the Taoist came up with this method!”
Mu Xiwan had been pondering over these matters since earlier, which was also where her confusion lay. However, after carefully observing Auntie’s face, she noticed that the black mist on her forehead had dispersed, indicating that Auntie was currently safe.
She comforted Auntie, “Auntie, the disaster energy around you has dissipated. Carry the protective talisman I gave you with you, and nothing will happen to you! Also, Auntie, you should spend more time in the sun recently. Being in this dormitory, affected by the Yin and resentment from that female ghost, has led to so many unfortunate events.”
With the matter resolved, as Ji Yuanxi had to go to work and it was also the time for submitting preferences today, Mu Xiwan left the hospital in a hurry to head to school.
Mu Hongtao and Jiang Xingman also inquired about Mu Xiwan’s preference submission, and she truthfully told them that she wanted to major in Mystical Arts at Jing University.
Upon learning of their daughter’s choice, Mu Hongtao and Jiang Xingman expressed their support. After all, Mu Xiwan didn’t need to support herself; just the dividends from the Mu family’s shares would ensure her comfortable life. So, it was only natural for their daughter to choose a major she liked and be happy!
After submitting her preferences, Mu Xiwan prepared to return to the old house with her backpack. It seemed like her luck was good because at the school gate, she once again ran into Su Miaowen and Fang Qinghui and her daughter.
This time, neither side paid attention to the other. Mu Xiwan just glanced at Su Miaowen, feeling somewhat pleased.
She noticed that the black energy on the baby clinging to Su Miaowen was getting stronger, and at the same time, there was a faint red color on Su Miaowen’s lower abdomen. Was she pregnant again?
However, these seemed unrelated to her, so Mu Xiwan ignored the mother and daughter duo, hailed a taxi at the school gate, and went straight back to the old house.
Mu Xiwan returned to the old house and immediately went into her room, starting to carve a protective talisman for Ji Hangyi. After all, she had been busy with other things these past two days, and Ji Hangyi’s talisman was only half finished.
Before dinner, Mu Jinghan came home and sat quietly on the sofa in the living room. Everyone was a little unaccustomed to seeing Mu Jinghan, who was usually so lively, so quiet.
Seeing Mu Jinghan like this, Chu Yunxi asked with concern, “Jinghan, what’s wrong? Are you sick?”
As she spoke, Chu Yunxi reached out to touch Mu Jinghan’s forehead, trying to check his temperature.
However, just as Chu Yunxi raised her hand, she saw Mu Jinghan, who had been sitting on the sofa, stand up and walk towards the upstairs. Chu Yunxi’s hand, which had just been raised, was left awkwardly hanging in the air.
“What… what’s wrong with him?” Chu Yunxi looked at Mu Jinghao next to her in disbelief. Mu Jinghan had never ignored her like this before, so seeing him like this, Chu Yunxi felt a little uncomfortable.
“Who knows what’s going on in his head. Don’t worry about him, Xixi, come and have some fruit!” Mu Jinghao said as he held a plate of fruit in front of Chu Yunxi.
Chu Yunxi took a piece of fruit but kept her eyes on Mu Jinghan, who was going upstairs. When she saw him stop at the door of Mu Xiwan’s room, Chu Yunxi’s eyes flashed. What was Jinghan doing looking for Mu Xiwan now? When did their relationship get so good?
——–
Mu Jinghan stood at the door of Mu Xiwan’s bedroom, finally mustering his courage to knock. Mu Xiwan, who was diligently carving the protective talisman inside, opened the door and saw Mu Jinghan. She habitually looked at his face and raised her beautiful eyebrows.
“Is something wrong?”
As she spoke, Mu Xiwan returned to the carving machine and continued her work.
Mu Jinghan hesitated for a moment and then walked into the bedroom. He looked at Mu Xiwan, who was seriously carving the protective talisman, and scratched the back of his head, a little embarrassed.
“Sister, I’m here to thank you for the protective talisman you gave me last night. If it weren’t for that talisman, I might not have survived today!”
“No need to thank me, you paid for it.” Mu Xiwan said as she continued working.
This afternoon, while carving the talisman, Mu Xiwan felt a wave of spiritual energy flowing into her body. She immediately sensed that the talisman she had given Mu Jinghan last night had been used.
However, she was curious. When Second Auntie used the talisman yesterday, she also received a wave of spiritual energy, but why didn’t she get any reaction when she sold so many protective talismans on her micro-store?
Could it be that those who bought the protective talismans or other talismans didn’t know that she drew them, so she didn’t have any merit or spiritual energy to receive?
Mu Xiwan was pondering over this when Mu Jinghan’s voice interrupted her thoughts:
