Chapter 52 Mu Jinghan Buys Jade
It turned out that during their physical education class that afternoon, Mu Jinghao, finding the weather too hot, snuck away to the big tree next to the playground to secretly play on his phone.
He was completely engrossed in his phone screen, his fingers quickly swiping across it, completely immersed in the world of mobile games. Just as he was playing fiercely, he suddenly heard several voices:
“Mu Jinghan, watch out!”
“Mu Jinghan, move out of the way!”
………
Hearing the shouts, Mu Jinghan just raised his head and saw a football flying towards his head at a rapid speed. When Mu Jinghan realized it, before he could react, the ball was already in front of him.
Mu Jinghan closed his eyes in fright, his heart filled with fear. The students around him also let out a gasp. Mu Jinghan thought to himself: It’s over! With the power and speed of this football, he would at least suffer a concussion.
But as Mu Jinghan closed his eyes, waiting for the pain to come, he felt a warmth in his pocket, then he felt himself enveloped by a mysterious force. When he slowly opened his eyes, the football had been deflected away!
The surrounding students immediately went to Mu Jinghan’s side, asking with concern:
“Mu Jinghan, are you okay?”
“Why is Mu Jinghan standing there in a daze? Did he get hurt?”
“Mu Jinghan, say something, do we need to go to the hospital?”
………..
Hearing his classmates’ concerned words, Mu Jinghan gradually regained his composure from his panic. He pursed his slightly dry lips and replied in a daze, “I’m fine.”
Then, Mu Jinghan remembered the warmth he had felt in his pocket earlier, which was where he kept the protective talisman. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pile of ashes.
………..
After telling Mu Xiwan the whole story vividly, Mu Jinghan couldn’t help but say, “Sister, this is too surreal. When I watched the car accident my mom experienced on my phone last night, I didn’t feel this surreal. The protective talisman actually protected me, and I didn’t receive any injuries.”
Mu Jinghan’s eyes sparkled with excitement and wonder, as if still immersed in the thrilling moment from that afternoon. Looking at Mu Xiwan, who was still carving the protective talisman, he continued awkwardly, “Sister, do you have any more of those protective talismans? Could you sell me a few more?”
Hearing Mu Jinghan’s request to buy the talisman, Mu Xiwan stopped her work, looked up at him, and said, “The black energy on your forehead has been gradually fading, and there won’t be any more dangerous situations. Besides, I’ve already solved Second Auntie’s problem, so you should be safe for now.”
Mu Xiwan’s gaze was deep as she carefully observed Mu Jinghan’s face. She didn’t know why the Taoist had targeted Second Auntie, but she could tell from Mu Jinghan’s face that he wouldn’t be in any danger recently.
However, because of the female ghost’s resentment, Mu Jinghan would still experience some bad luck. Thinking about this, Mu Xiwan couldn’t help but remind him, “You should spend more time in the sun recently. You might still encounter some bad luck, but compared to what happened today, those are minor things!”
Hearing Mu Xiwan say this, Mu Jinghan was even more determined to buy the protective talisman.
“Sister, just sell me a few more!”
Mu Jinghan was increasingly comfortable calling Mu Xiwan “sister.” He didn’t know why, but he hadn’t been so affectionate when calling Chu Yunxi.
But now, he was willing to call Mu Xiwan his sister. Mu Jinghan thought it might be because she had saved his life, or perhaps because in his heart, Mu Xiwan was more powerful and capable.
Seeing Mu Jinghan constantly asking for her protective talismans, Mu Xiwan thought, “Well, if the business is coming to me, there’s no reason not to sell.”
So, Mu Xiwan smiled at Mu Jinghan and said, “How many do you want?”
“Sister, I want ten, just ten!”
Hearing Mu Jinghan’s words, Mu Xiwan looked at him as if he were a fool and said, “There aren’t that many dangerous situations coming your way. Let’s just say this, I’ll sell you two protective talismans for now. And since you’ll still experience some bad luck, I’ll sell you two peace talismans as well!”
After hearing Mu Xiwan’s words, Mu Jinghan thought about it carefully. After all, he saw Mu Xiwan every day, so even if he ran out of talismans, he could always buy more from her. With that thought, he carefully accepted the four talismans Mu Xiwan handed him.
After carefully taking the talismans, Mu Jinghan didn’t forget to transfer the money to Mu Xiwan. After giving the talismans to Mu Jinghan, Mu Xiwan continued with her carving task.
Mu Jinghan asked curiously, “Sister, what are you doing?”
Mu Xiwan replied as she carved, “Carving protective talismans.”
“Using jade to carve protective talismans, wouldn’t that make them more effective?” Mu Jinghan asked curiously.
“Hmm.” Mu Xiwan replied faintly. She now felt like her cousin was a chatterbox. She was starting to miss the Mu Jinghan from before today. At least she could have some peace and quiet then!
“So, sister, could you…”
“No!”
Mu Jinghan hadn’t finished speaking when he was interrupted by Mu Xiwan’s voice. He looked at her in surprise, and she continued, “The jade is bought by someone else. I’m just carving it for them.”
“Oh, I see. Then, sister, if I have jade, could you carve one for me too?” Mu Jinghan now felt that having a protective talisman to protect his life was very important.
Although paper talismans could protect him, if there were more effective ones, he naturally wanted the one with a higher level of protection!
Hearing Mu Jinghan’s words, Mu Xiwan asked curiously, “Can you buy jade?”
Hearing Mu Xiwan ask, Mu Jinghan nodded seriously, “Yeah, a friend of mine’s family is in the jade business.”
Hearing this, Mu Xiwan nodded and said, “Then, you can buy some jade for me. As long as you can buy jade for me, I’ll give you a jade-carved protective talisman!”
“Really?” Mu Jinghan looked at Mu Xiwan in disbelief. Jade was very expensive. His sister even charged him for paper talismans, so would she be so generous as to give him a jade talisman?
Seeing Mu Jinghan’s wide eyes and full of questions, Mu Xiwan smiled and said, “What? Don’t believe me? Then forget it. I’ll find a way to buy it myself.”
“No, sister, how could I not believe you? It’s settled then, sister. Leave the buying of jade to me!”
Seeing Mu Jinghan agree, Mu Xiwan transferred 50 million yuan to him, then told him to contact her if he needed more.
Mu Xiwan was just too lazy to buy it herself, so she thought of asking Mu Jinghan to help. Besides, she wasn’t short of money. Not only did her grandfather, parents, and brother give her a lot of money, but her second uncle and aunt, and third uncle and aunt also gave her a lot of pocket money.
After receiving money from several elders and her brother, she wanted to do something for them. So, she thought of carving some protective talismans for them out of jade.
Moreover, she still didn’t know what was going on with the Taoist who was targeting Second Auntie. If the Taoist was targeting the entire Mu family, then everyone would be in danger.
Now that she was back in this family, she wouldn’t allow anyone to be in danger. With protective talismans, she could feel more at ease!
