Chapter 60
Ye Baizhi’s eyes lit up upon hearing about Ye Wulan’s newfound strength. She hadn’t expected him to recover so completely, reaching the Transcendence Realm in one leap.
A half-step into Transcendence meant he had essentially left the Mortal Beast Realm behind. She understood that with each tier of power, the difficulty doubled—and crossing realms was exponentially harder.
Breaking through from the Mortal Beast Realm to Transcendence was nearly impossible. A half-step forward meant he had already overcome the bottleneck.
Excitement flickered within her. At this level, he had no rivals beneath the Transcendence Realm.
Ye Baizhi smiled. “That’s wonderful.”
“But… how is your body?”
She studied him carefully—his complexion was bright, and his body seemed fine—but she still worried about his old injuries.
Wulan met her gaze with a warm, gentle smile. “I’m fully healed.”
“Let me check your pulse.”
He was well aware that Ye Baizhi possessed medical expertise. And truthfully, Ye Wulan had many lingering doubts about her abilities. He had heard the rumors about her—supposedly, in the royal city of the Central Region, she was completely useless, incapable of doing anything.
Of course, for a female beast, that was expected, but his Baizhi was different.
Instinctively, Ye Wulan reached out his hand.
Ye Baizhi looked at his skin—smooth and pale like cold jade.
“Huh? You had a scar here before… It’s gone?”
She distinctly remembered a knife wound on his arm, the scar once clearly visible. Yet now, his skin was flawless, making her wonder if she had misremembered.
Ye Wulan’s stunning eyes held a gentle ripple, his voice soft and warm. “Mm, it’s all healed.”
The scars had vanished—it was miraculous.
This was her ability. Ye Baizhi was utterly surprised, even impressed by the extent of her own power. Then, realization struck—perhaps it was connected to her innate wood-based ability. After all, wood-based powers naturally carried healing properties.
After checking Ye Wulan’s pulse, her expression shifted in astonishment. “Your old wounds… they’ve healed too!”
She knew better than anyone just how severe his injuries had been.
His body had been shattered, stitched together like fragile fragments—yet now, he was completely restored. It was as if all the wounds that had been stitched together had completely healed, leaving no trace of injury behind.
“This is truly amazing.” Ye Baizhi was filled with joy.
Ye Wulan reached out and gently stroked her hair. “Baizhi, you saved me.” Saved everything that he was.
The thought that she was carrying his child filled his heart with warmth. From now on, his life, his body, and his soul would belong to her.
Ye Baizhi saw the deep, lingering affection in his eyes—her lashes quivered ever so slightly. “I really didn’t do anything.”
“I just wanted you to recover as soon as possible.” The moment she spoke, Ye Baizhi suddenly felt a surge of energy in her palm.
“My… my powers have returned!”
She had instantly advanced to Tier Two in her wood-based abilities. She looked at Ye Wulan, her eyes sparkling. She thought about trying again at night—perhaps she could rapidly enhance her wood-element abilities.
“You tell me, does this count as achieving the effects of dual cultivation?”
In the Beast Continent, if a female beast was strong enough, she could cultivate alongside a powerful male beast to enhance their respective strengths. But there were too few strong female beasts. Moreover, if their ability systems were different, cultivation wouldn’t work. Hers, however, was rather fascinating.
“It feels like you pureblood enchanter beasts possess unique abilities. Perhaps they exterminated your kin to obtain your clan’s power.”
Of course, this was only Ye Baizhi’s speculation.
Ye Wulan understood the abilities of his kin. “Baizhi, if not for you, my strength would never have recovered. No matter how many abilities one has, it’s meaningless—pureblood enchanter beasts merely exist.”
“In the past, I had my doubts. My father told me to seek out the rabbit beast who could save my people, and I was only half convinced.”
“But now, I believe.”
“I also thank my father for guiding me down this path, for leading me to you.”
To him, Ye Baizhi was the most breathtaking presence in his life. Some gratitude, some emotions—words could never fully express them.
As Ye Wulan spoke with Ye Baizhi, he sensed Da Bao’s presence from the bed inside and smiled. “Da Bao should be awake.”
“I’ll take him to freshen up first, then seal his spirit energy.”
Now that his strength had recovered, he could naturally use secret techniques.
“Alright.” She fully believed Ye Wulan could accomplish it.
Ye Baizhi got out of bed, washed up, and started preparing breakfast.
Ye Wulan went to the inner room and saw Da Bao rolling around on the bed. Amused, he reached out and asked, “Why are you so happy?”
“Come on, let’s get you cleaned up first.”
Da Bao wasn’t in a hurry to get up. Instead, he exclaimed excitedly, “Father Ye, I have a little sister now!”
Ye Wulan had just reached out to scoop Da Bao up, ready to hold him, but upon hearing those words, his hand paused mid-air. “How do you know you have a sister?”
Da Bao flashed a small dimple, his eyes curving into a bright smile—adorably radiant. “Father Ye, I dreamed about my little sister.”
Hearing him emphasize “sister,” Ye Wulan softly asked, “How do you know it’s a sister and not a brother?”
He knew Da Bao wasn’t like ordinary children. Da Bao understood many things—being a pureblood wolf beast, he had inherited the ancestral power of regression. But right now, he’s still young, and many of his abilities will gradually reveal themselves.
“It’s definitely a little sister.”
Ye Wulan had hoped for a pureblood female beast, yet throughout the history of the Enchanter Demon tribe, all pureblood beastmen had been male—there had never been a pureblood female. However, legend had it that an ancestor left behind a prophecy: when a pureblood female beast appeared, the Enchanter Demon tribe would reach its peak prosperity. Yet, since their lineage had always been pureblood males, no one had placed much hope in it. Even a pureblood male heir was cause for celebration among the clan. To dream of a pureblood female was something no one dared to wish for.
Such an existence would be exceedingly rare.
As for whether it was a male or female beast, he would take a few more days to confirm.
Da Bao blinked his big eyes, his expression unwaveringly serious. “Father Ye, it’s definitely a little sister.”
“I dreamed of her.”
“She’s incredible.”
Ye Wulan froze slightly, his heartbeat quickening. “Da Bao, is it really a little sister?”
Da Bao nodded earnestly. “Mm-hmm, Father Ye, it’s a little sister. She’s very beautiful.”
“She looks like Father Ye.”
Ye Wulan knew Da Bao’s abilities, and seeing his serious expression, he finally believed him. A storm of emotions surged within him, leaving him unable to calm down.
“Da Bao, thank you!”
If his clansmen were still alive, they would have been overjoyed.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Ye Wulan’s eyes reddened slightly.
Da Bao looked at Ye Wulan and said, “Father Ye, Da Bao will blow away your sadness.” With that, he leaned close to Ye Wulan and softly blew toward his eyes.
Ye Wulan had been consumed by a mix of excitement and sorrow, thinking of his lost clan. How he wished his people were still alive—if they knew this news, they would be ecstatic. But watching Da Bao earnestly comforting him, he couldn’t help but smile.
“I’m not sad. Thank you, Da Bao.”
“Father Ye, your heart is bleeding—I just felt it.”
Da Bao reached out and pointed to Ye Wulan’s chest.
