Fleeing From Famine, My Entire Family Was Reborn Chapter 35

Chapter 35: Robbery

Su Yin recognized the five individuals in front of her immediately; they were the same group disguised as refugees.

Not only did she recognize them, but Yang Lizheng and many others did as well.

Yang Lizheng didn’t take the situation lightly and stepped forward to negotiate. “Is there something wrong with you guys?”

The sinister young man smiled, scanning the crowd with a predatory gaze. His tone was contemptuous and arrogant. “You must be the one in charge. Really? Don’t tell meI’ll let you guess. We are indeed in trouble.”

“Please, tell us what you need. If we can help, we will definitely help,” Yang Lizheng said, maintaining a calm demeanor, pretending not to notice the other party’s ill intentions.

The sinister young man continued, “We brothers are a little short on money these days. Could you please hand over all the money you have?”

As he spoke, he moved his knife forward threateningly.

Everyone’s expressions shifted at this, fear washing over them.

Su Yin calmly retrieved the long knife she had purchased earlier from the mule cart. She quietly approached her second uncle and younger uncle, handing the knife to them.

Yang Dachuan and Yang Dahe were momentarily stunned but took the knife in silent agreement.

Su Yin then pulled out a hatchet and passed it to her uncle.

“Mom, hold this for self-defense.” Su Yin handed a dagger to her mother.

At the same time, she gave another hatchet to Su Baozhu.

Others who had secretly prepared weapons, not just Su Yin, began to arm themselves as well.

Yang Lizheng’s smile remained unchanged. “You guys, please don’t joke around.”

“Haha,” the sinister young man sneered. “Stop talking nonsense. Are you going to hand it over voluntarily, or do we need to take it by force?”

Butcher Yang, known for his quick temper, couldn’t hold back. “What will you do if we don’t give it?”

The sinister young man smirked. “No.”

Before he finished speaking, the sinister young man jumped forward, raising his knife and charging toward Butcher Yang.

“Be careful!” Yang Dashu shouted.

The attack came swiftly and unexpectedly. Butcher Yang was not a warrior, and his reaction speed was not quick enough. In an instant, the sharp knife was at his throat, ready to strike.

Suddenly, a powerful force from behind him yanked him backward. The blade whizzed past his neck, accompanied by a chilling gust of wind that sent goosebumps across his body.

There was only a few centimeters between the blade and his neck. If he had taken one step slower or moved forward just a little, Butcher Yang would surely have been mortally wounded.

Narrowly escaping death, his heart raced as he realized the person who saved him was Su Yin.

While he was still in shock, Su Yin swiftly raised her foot and kicked the sinister young man.

The young man, furious that his attack had failed, glared at her. “I came just in time. Let’s take care of this wild girl who knows nothing about the world.”

Su Yin didn’t respond; she simply fought back.

As she spoke, she landed a solid kick to his chest, sending him stumbling backward.

With the fight escalating, the other four attackers rushed into the crowd, intent on causing chaos and collecting whatever valuables they could.

The men stepped forward one after another, gripping their weapons tightly as fear and panic settled among them. The women instinctively hid behind, shielding their children.

As the attackers moved in to strike, the men reacted on instinct, wildly swinging their weapons. The whole scene was chaotic and uncoordinated.

Some individuals suffered deep cuts from knives, while others were knocked to the ground, coughing up blood…

Dozens of young and middle-aged men fought against the four attackers, while Su Yin faced the sinister young man alone.

Yang Dachuan and Yang Dahe stepped forward to help, but Su Yin quickly stopped them. “Uncle, you go help the others; I can take care of this.”

The sinister young man laughed angrily at her boldness. “What a loud tone! Just wait; I’ll teach you how to spell ‘death.'”

“Come at me!” Su Yin challenged, stepping forward as she swung the long knife directly at his heart and lungs.

The sinister young man raised his sword to block the attack. The blades clashed, sparks flying and a harsh clang echoing in the air.

Su Yin quickly followed up with a kick aimed at his lower body. The young man, caught off guard, instinctively dodged, but in that moment, she swiped the dagger in her left hand across his neck.

He retaliated with a kick aimed at her abdomen, sharp pain shooting through her as she was knocked back several meters.

The sinister young man’s face darkened, and he opened his mouth to speak. “Hello”

His voice faltered as he raised a hand to his neck, feeling the warm, sticky liquid between his fingertips. Looking down, he saw his fingers stained crimson.

Reluctance and anger flashed across his face as he glared at Su Yin with vicious eyes.

“Boom…”

He collapsed, blood spilling from his mouth as his body trembled a few times before finally going still.

This exchange had occurred in mere moments, so fast that those around barely realized what had transpired.

After dealing with the sinister young man, Su Yin turned her attention to the battlefield nearby.

More than forty people faced off against the four attackers. Instead of overpowering them, many were sustaining injuries themselves.

As injuries mounted, the courage of the defending group dwindled; they became hesitant and timid in their attacks. This only emboldened the four assailants, who grew increasingly brazen, treating the situation like a game of cat and mouse.

Su Yin did not rush into the fray. Instead, she crouched behind the crowd, observing the situation carefully.

In that moment…

Su Yin seized the opportunity. While Butcher Yang was entangled with his uncle, the opposing fighter exposed his weak back.

“Pfft…”

The sharp knife pierced through the man’s body. Even as he sensed the danger and attempted to evade, it was already too late. He could only watch helplessly as the blade penetrated his chest, blood dripping from the tip.

Yang Dashan and Yang Tufu stood stunned, shocked to see such a formidable opponent dispatched so easily by Su Yin.

Quickly, Su Yin withdrew the knife and turned to retreat to the back of the crowd, continuing her role as the sixth child.

After the initial shock wore off, Yang Dashan and Yang Tufu quickly regained their composure. Understanding Su Yin’s intentions without her needing to say a word, they began to act as bait in perfect sync.

Once again, Su Yin took advantage of the assailants’ unpreparedness, attacking and eliminating another man.

The entire process was swift, taking less than a quarter of an hour.

Suddenly, two of the attackers were missing from the battlefield, prompting the remaining two to exchange glances and plan their retreat.

Su Yin recognized their intentions immediately. “Don’t let them escape! If they get away, it will bring endless trouble.”

If they survived and returned with reinforcements, their chances of survival would dwindle.

Yang Li followed her command. “Don’t let them escape!”

Yang Dashan shouted, “Kill them!”

“If we don’t kill them, we will die!” Butcher Yang reminded everyone. “We have more than forty people; they only have two. The odds are in our favor.”
