Chapter 82: Divide the Water
Yang Lizheng and Su Yin hurried back. “Everyone, get out of the way!”
A huge boulder broke free from the stone wall and crashed down. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on the stone wall in front of them.
Su Yin and Wang Lizheng stepped forward. The situation inside was crucial for the future of everyone present.
Si Wensheng and Wang Lizheng followed, stepping forward to check.
The four of them stood in a row, staring inside. The cave was dark, but there was a faint glimmer of water.
“There is water.”
This discovery brought a sense of relief to everyone present.
Scholar Si turned around and ordered, “Continue chiseling.”
Several people stepped back, and the three groups took turns hammering.
Wan Sanye approached Su Yin and asked, “Is there a lot of water inside?”
“I can’t see clearly, but I’m sure there are puddles inside. The depth and size are uncertain.”
“Tsk, tsk. If there’s not enough water in there for all three parties, it will be bad for you.”
Wan Sanye glanced at the three groups and squinted at the sword at the waist of the gentle scholar.
Su Yin turned her head and noticed that Wan Sanye had been staring at the opponent’s sword and lowered her voice, “Do you know him?”
Wan Sanye looked away, “I’ve seen it, but I’m not sure.”
“Tell me.”
“Pay.” Wan Sanye stretched out his hand.
He was now penniless, having had all his valuables taken away by that scheming little girl.
Su Yin directly slapped his hand away, “Fat Master, we are in this together. We either prosper or perish together.”
Mr. Wan San raised his eyebrows, “Come on, you stingy person who lives off nothing.”
The two moved to the side, standing on the periphery.
“Tell me about your impression of that team.”
Su Yin glanced at him, “They are about the same age, all strong and fit, and their demeanor doesn’t resemble that of ordinary farmers.
The long knives in their hands are all of the same make and are sharp, completely different from the long knives in regular blacksmith shops. They are of high quality.
To wield such long knives and be so unified, this group’s identity must be significant.”
Wan Sanye’s lips curled up as he looked toward them. Su Yin’s insight seemed to impress him more and more. “Little girl, your observations are sharp. Yes, their identities are indeed noteworthy.
There is a mark on the sword at Si Wensheng’s waist that ordinary people wouldn’t recognize.”
“I happened to have seen it before, and I’ve also heard about it. That symbol belongs to the Nangong family. The Nangong family is a lineage that has been around for hundreds of years.”
“The Minister of War of the Great Yong Dynasty is a direct descendant of the Nangong family.”
Su Yin knew that this group had some background, but she didn’t expect their connections to be so profound.
The Nangong family!
Any family that could be considered aristocratic was not ordinary. Their confidence came from having withstood dozens of generations and changes in dynasty.
Except for the gentle young man leading the group, who had an extraordinary demeanor, the others did not show much distinction; they appeared more capable than ordinary farmers.
“I’m not sure if the others are members of the Nangong family. That scholar is most likely a member.”
“I don’t know if they are direct descendants or collateral descendants.”
In the Great Yong Dynasty, the distinction between direct and collateral descendants was strictly defined, with a clear hierarchy.
If the other party was a direct descendant of the Nangong family, then his status would be considerable.
Even in ancient Greater China, emperors of many dynasties were tightly controlled by aristocratic families.
The emperors dared not rebuke the aristocrats and even sought to marry their legitimate daughters in order to secure their support and maintain the functioning of the state.
A century-old dynasty and a thousand-year-old family are no joke.
Mr. Wan Sanye glanced at Mr. Si Wen, “If you can befriend him, do so. Even if you suffer some losses, don’t make enemies. We are like ants in their eyes.”
“Understood.”
With Mr. Wan Sanye’s reminder, Su Yin’s previous plan needed to be adjusted.
She rubbed her eyebrows, feeling a little headache.
She could only pray now that there would be enough water to divide between the three parties. Otherwise, what follows will be a ‘fierce battle’.
Wan Sanye patted her shoulder and said, “There must be a way before the car reaches the mountain.”
While the two were talking, another stone was knocked off the stone wall over there.
“Let’s go.”
As soon as Su Yin came back, she was surrounded by people and walked to the front. The entrance of the cave was wide open, with enough light shining in.
She could clearly see that there was a hollow space inside the stone wall, with stalactites on the top and stalactites on the bottom.
A pool of water is about thirty inches in diameter. There is a small spring in the middle, and water is constantly emerging.
The overflowing water from the small pool seeped into the hole-riddled stone cave below, with only one place overflowing from the crack in the stone.
If there was no water overflowing from this rock crevice, they would not be able to find this hidden water source even if they died.
The world is so ingenious.
The scholar glanced at her and said, “You guessed it right, there is a spring inside. The water flow looks good.” Wang Lizheng stepped forward to take a look, and said to the two of them with a smile: “What a great joy. God bless us.”
Seto asked: “Is it enough for us to share?” “It’s enough, and there’s still more.”
Everyone in Xinghua Village couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
They were the most worried. If a conflict occurred, they would easily suffer a loss because they didn’t have the advantage in numbers. “It’s truly God’s blessing.”
Many people bowed to the sky. Mr. Si Wensheng looked at Su Yin and the others, “Since you found this place first, you get the water first.”
“Thank you.”
Yang Lizheng also bowed gratefully to the man.
Wang Li had a bad look on his face, but due to the strength of this party, he didn’t dare to say a word and acquiesced to this order.
“Get the water quickly.” Yang Li was greeting.
Su Baozhu and Ma Liu used a wooden spoon to pour the spring water into the wooden bucket one by one.
There were three buckets of water, plus the water bladders they each brought, and the bamboo tubes they used before.
In the next few counties, it is difficult to find water.
Since there is water here, they naturally wanted to bring as much as they could.
Su Baozhu and Su Mu have collected all the containers that could hold water.
After everyone in Xinghua Village collected the water, they went down the mountain together.
As soon as they left, Wang Laitou wanted to step forward to take over, but was blocked by a knife.
The elegant scholar smiled and looked at Wang Lizheng, “I’m in a hurry, could you please wait a moment, Wang Lizheng.”
Wang Lizheng smiled, “Okay, okay, please go first.”
The people of Qianshan Village dared not speak out even when they were angry.
It wasn’t until Mr. Siwen and his group finished taking out the water that they dared to curse.
Wang Laitou spat in the direction they left. “What is it?”
Wang Lizheng squinted his eyes, looked away coldly, and shouted at the others: “Don’t be stunned, hurry up and get the water. After getting the water, leave immediately.”
Meanwhile, the Xinghua Village group was happy. When they came back, they heard the noise from the camp in the distance. “What happened?”
Everyone hurried over.
When the old and young who stayed behind saw them come back, Yang Lizheng’s wife said anxiously: “Honey, it’s not good. Da Zhuang and Da Zhuang Nian are missing.”
Missing?!
Su Yin and Wan Sanye looked at each other.
